  • Join Post reporters as the Supreme Court hears oral arguments in a case determining access to mifepristone, a key abortion medication that’s used in more than half of the abortions conducted in the U.S.
    As abortion access continues to be controlled through a range of state-by-state policies, a ruling in FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine could yield one of the most consequential decisions regarding reproductive rights since the court struck down Roe v. Wade in June 2022.
    Libby Casey anchors live coverage from The Washington Post newsroom with analysis from James Hohmann and JM Rieger with Rhonda Colvin live from outside the court. Caroline Kitchener and Dan Diamond provide additional reporting. Read more: wapo.st/3IODu9l. Subscribe to The Washington Post on TH-cam: wapo.st/2QOdcqK

    This drug can treat Cushing's syndrome and uterine leiomyomas. It has been highly effective in treating Cushing’s. Most abortion drugs have other uses beyond abortion and miscarriages.

    What harm has Mifepristone done ? None so move on . Thats the question here . Get a vasectomy if you want . Leave women alone . Any medical condition should be between a woman and her doctor .

    • @michaelrandall7667
      @michaelrandall7667 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Such a lazy argument. Between women and doctors? This case is about a woman doctor. The case is weak but not because there has been no harm. I wouldn't call 1 out of 15 women needing surgery causing no harm.

    Mandatory vasectomies are reversible and only take 15-30 min to perform.

      Mandatory vasectomies for whom?
      Pro-abortion advocates always talk about vasectomies as if that has one single thing to do with murdering unborn children.

      I got snipped 30 years ago, there was minor discomfort. The doctor told me that while they can be reversed you shouldn't count on it. The more time that passes the less chance to reverse it. Women, don't accept an excuse from your partner about "it will hurt."

      Mandatory vasectomies are still the only option.
      Hysterectomies can only be done in life threatening situations and tubal litigation only after a baby has been born.

      So maybe you were one of the lucky few to get a hysterectomy.

    I love listening to lawyers on both sides of the Abortion Pill dustup arguing loud and long on the myriad of SIDE ISSUES swirling around mifepristone while they totally ignore the REAL ISSUE, which was the ORIGINAL FDA APPROVAL of mifepristone. But what the hell, that’s how they support their families and who am I to take work away from them.

    Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, issued a subpoena to a conservative legal advocate as a part of an ethics probe driven by reports of undisclosed gifts to some conservative Supreme Court justices, multiple outlets reported Thursday.
    The committee sent the subpoena Thursday to Leonard Leo, the co-chair of the Federalist Society who was paramount in deciding former President Trump’s potential nominees for the nation’s highest court. It's a start.

      We already have one man in the U.S. who officially gave birth with public records. He had gotten pregnant before the officially birth but it was a miscarriage from a rape pregnancy as a young teen. This man was born with XY chromosomes plus one ovary and one testicle. His son with their adopted family. One man isn’t enough of course.

    Judge Alito asked if the FDA is infallible. That was such an arrogant question and kind of nonsensical one. He knows everything on Earth is run by humans and so of course it not infallible and neither is he. I want to know if he thinks the Supreme Court is infallible?

    • @michaelrandall7667
      @michaelrandall7667 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You missed his point. He asked that because the government had just stated that no one is in a position to challenge the FDA. Unless the FDA is infallible, someone should be able to challenge them.

    It would be great if in the year of our lord 2024 , we STILL cannot get more than a gd cartoonist inside the courthouse for federal cases. They’ve given us this audio over the years and act like we should be thrilled to just have the audio. I’m sure the audience would be much higher if they knew how absolutely amazing these ridiculous arguments like this case above are handled. The SG sounds overly competent when speaking to someone like Thomas or ACBarrot and the magats had the nerve to say that KBJackson is there only because of affirmative action. Sadly , she’s the most intelligent person on the entire court and the one who is there based on affirmative action is Clarence Thomas who said so in his book, and then recently was able to complete the loop he’s hated his whole life. He helped end affirmative action for EVERYONE ELSE. Good for me but not for thee. Thomas, Alito, the other 4 magats give a big 🖕to the USA 🇺🇸 and show us how they are just 8 more political hacks and KBJ who I’ve only heard speak about the law not her church’s feelings on , anything!!!!!! Lmao look at this 20,000 people can bear hearing some lawyer try to use a crazy psychopath district judge in Texas who made a national ban on a medicine bcuz these idiots at AHM HAVE NO DAMAGES OR HARM. THEY READ SOME THINGS AND DID STUDIES AND PAID FOR THE COURT FEES SO THEY MErely REQUEST THE ENTIRE USA BAN AN APPROVED SAFE DRUG SIMPLY BASED ON THE RELIGIOUS FEELINGS ON THIS MEDICINE. DISGRACEFUL it even got this far and wait until the next mefipristome case as it’s coming no question they don’t stop. The cult just will keep suing and judge shopping , they just need federal judge kasmarick in Texas that banned abortion so they need to really maybe even go so far as to create the damages themselves to get this nationally banned. And who doesn’t think they would? This case alone has absolutely NO BUSINESS before SCOTUS just on standing and I’m not even a gd lawyer!!!!

    *Here's the big picture, folks.*
    *Currently, the Boomers are ranging in age from 60-78 years of age. The folks from the generation before them are obviously older.*
    *Boomers are retiring and collecting Social Security and using Medicare. The older ones are entering nursing homes, putting an even bigger dent in the Medicare system.*
    *There aren't as many babies being born nowadays. Fewer babies born means fewer workers to pay into Social Security and Medicare to fund the Boomers (and those older) that are currently crippling the programs with more and more of them signing up for benefits every day.*
    *Bans on abortion isn't about morality. It's all about making sure that the population grows at a steady pace to ensure that there will be funding in place to keep the Social Security and Medicare programs solvent. This government wants to ban abortions to ensure more births.*
