While in the US Army after my combat tour in Vietnam (2/502 Infantry, 101st Airborne) I was offered a chance to stay in and attend medical school ... it was a hard decision, but I decided to finish my Art degree and ended up moving to Australia as an Art teacher. I'm glad I did as I love my work. I donated the royalties from my VN Art work that was used in High school history books.

I havent researched beyond this….but id assume most of our presidents have granted some pardons that could be considered questionable to the average citizen.
My husband, a Navy veteran, always says anyone who retired as a Lt. Commander should be looked at questionably. Apparently the rank of LC is where they place - and leave perpetually - the most problematic commissioned officers. They would have been promoted to Commander before they retired if they were any good at their jobs. Every Navy vet I've spoken to says the same thing.
I remember Kwame Kilpatrick's story very well. I believe he's out now, hopefully he learned a lesson 😂
