They are ALL BadAss!!! Actually OM, when they first formed, Miku was to be the lead singer but they all agreed her voice was to kawaii for Hard Rock as that's where they wanted to go with their style. They found Saiki and her lower register voice which was perfect. You can't have chipmunks on helium singing Hard Rock well. If you like drums, check out "Freedom" from the same concert.

My suggesting for your next Band Maid reaction. Look for the music video for Thrill. It is their first TH-cam video and it was a make it or break moment for the band. Believe it or not, Band Maid was very close to being dropped by their management company. Their first album was not getting the sales that the management company liked given the amount of money that was invested in the band. Miko made a deal with the company and asked that they shot a MV and post it on TH-cam to see if would get any attention and if not, they would end the contract. The video for Thrill is very plain, just the band in a white room with a few costume changes and that's it. When they put it on TH-cam nothing happened at first but then some music reactors found the video and praised it and then more and more people found it. Now that video has over 20 MILLON view and counting, the band finished their ten-year anniversary tour last year and are going back to the studio to record their next album. So, music reactors...SAVED, Band Maid. After that I have some other Japanese bands for you to look up. I really think you will like Wagakki Band.👍

Have you listened to The Warning? They are playing with Bandmaid in Japan this month. The Warning are three sisters from Monterey, Mexico and are a great rock band.

I think the vocal term is called "color" or timbre. Saiki's vocal color is rather dark, giving her that deep voice feeling, even though I think her vocal ranges is roughly average for a woman. Her actual range might be a mezzo-soprano, though I'm not sure.

Actually, Tomomi Ogawa of SCANDAL does a great job singing hard rock...and Tomomi and Rina (SCANDAL) are both sopranos.
