Dude, I started transitioning another character the day you streamed this, and it is a total blast. Only difference with my build is I included gunslinger to use the gauss pistol in place if the enclave rifle and it is such an easy ammo farm. Also doesn't hurt that it pretty much one-shots most enemies. Thank you for the tips! Rock on with your badass self dude!
I was shocked how effective this build was during “Eviction Notice.” I crouched on top of the tin shed next to the scrubber and could kill anything I could see. I have a Bloodied, Damage-while-aiming, Faster Reload Gauss Rifle.
Very nice! I change some numbers over to strength too from other specials but not from perception. I run my AA explosive lever and a bloodied explosive double barrel. I wear caravan armor and larp as a blue ridge caravan mercenary lol
My first character is a lvl 300 bloodied sniper. It wasn't until I started a build focused on the auto-axe that I found out that snipers are weak. You can take down a few baddies, sure, but the auto-axe chews through entire hordes. Especially when it's an Aristocrat's and you're sitting on over 30,000 caps. At only lvl 130, I can drop a scorchbeast within seconds (as soon as it hits the ground) and Earle has never been so easy to bring down. Hell, I can finish Radiation Rumble solo. Granted, I can't do any mining and all but one worker dies, but it doesn't end in a fail.
my auto axe now works pretty well with the 40% atsp and running with vampire. i used to use aristocrat and bloodied but for tanky build there is nothing that can stop you and you deal incredible dmg vampire and atsp
Thank you for updating your sniper build advice! My sniper build is fairly similar, but with less focused on luck and criticals. And I've never run with mutations before. I think I'll give it a try!
Thanks a lot for idea for my build. Since Plasma Caster no longer works with Rifleman perks, i ended up with variation of this build by adding Science perks and ditching bloodied perks + some of utility perks to turn this build into full HP Gauss/Explosive hybrid. And its quite efficient option, just because essentially to make Explosives work, you need to ditch Long Shot for Grenadier and go for the option with maxed Adrenaline perk, which ain't that big deal.
I went with covert scout armor for this build. I have been trying to get a set of unyielding for it for like a year now and have managed to get one piece to roll it. Also just messed up the other day and scrapped my slug buster.
"Zoom further than the enemies can render with long scope"...that's a problem for the devs and testers to solve before the game comes out...oh wait, it came out years ago.
with long scopes you can aim an hit even without entering an event. but its so long that when the S.Queen is out you woulnd hit her bc of the range your weapon "has" is bs
If you've got the free Legendary Perk slot then use Survival Syringe, it heals and fully fills your hunger and thirst, combine it with some Perfect Bubblegum to keep them filled for an hour and you'll save yourself so much weight. Also I personally use the Carnivore mutation because it increases the benefit of Canned Meat Stew (I get +12% xp for some reason, I'm thinking it's because I also use the Rejuvenated perk). With how often the Feeding the People occurs I have a constant supply of them with a healthy amount in my stash, too. Edit: I'd also like to see an Aristocrat's build around this. It doesn't do as much damage as Bloodied but it allows you to be so much more tanky (as little as that means in this game since even with my full hunger and thirst, and a full set of Overeater's armor there's still things that melt me. Usually Mr. Handys with kinetic weapons or Super Mutants with miniguns). But because I've already bought or earned every plan/reward then I'm almost always near 40,000 caps.
I carry two Gauss rifles: One Zealot, damage while aiming, and primed, exclusively to kill scorched things. The other is Instigating, fast reload, and limb damage, for general purposes. As backup? a Gauss pistol, Instigating, 50% crit damage, and +1 Perception. The pistol is especially useful indoors and really shine in Daily Ops that requieres stealth.
The problem with zealot is that it's only 50% increase and only against scorched. While bloodied is 80% increase against everything. And for full health or bosses anti-armor is just as good as bloodied. No reason to take zealot over bloodied/anti-armor
@@philistine3260 anti armor is better imo. the gaus pistol could be easily replaced tho. the plasma rifle scales with gunslinger tho (even its "automatic") you could use a vampire one to tank without PA. i ran instigating dragoon with vampire auto axe and is fun as hell. for events gauss rifle with holy fire. no vats required
For boss fights I swap out Rifleman cards for Commando on my rifleman character and use a 1 star bloodied handmade. the rest of the build works just the same between the 2 weapon types for boss fights. Also good to carry a handmade for close quarters work when stealth decides to be broken. For my character I mostly use a lever action with reflex sight, got kinda sick of the charge before fire nature of the gauss rifle making an already slow playstyle even slower. I use the gauss with the short scope for long range exterior shooting which is rare but fun. The long scope is useless in my opinion, outside the range of a short scope you can be so far away that enemies will respawn when you get close enough on your way to loot them unless Bethesda changed that. Ammo carry weight perks are really not needed, 500 of each type you use is more than enough for a couple days, and 1-2k 5.56 for boss fights isnt going to weigh you down but the handmade and ammo can be left in stash, plenty of time to fetch before a boss fight starts.
Late to the party, but can confirm the one-two crit punch gauss is glorious with quad+extra crit damage, not the absolut highest dps in the game, but good enough for most purpose. I think this build mostly shines in flexibility. Even with no legendary perks and nonlegendary weapons you can create a one shot gauss for basic running around, bring a tesla for tagging and plasma flamer for bosses. Stealth? Doable. Power Armor to the face? Same. Still enough perk points left for personal optimisation. I like my cannibal point just for the lazy upkeep of hunger for example.
This is one of my favorite builds. I have a Instigating, Crit-Damage, Crit-Meter Gauss Rifle and Anti-Armor, Damage while aiming Enclave Flamer. I can using them with Overeater’s or Unyielding Armor. I use 5 ranks of Adrenaline. After the first kill, Level 100 Super Mutants are one-shot kills.
instigating is good for solo play. anti armor or quad is very good in this one in a team. crit dmg is very mandatory if you fill the meter up with luck and nice perks
I’m still getting the hang of the game I’m level 76 for my legendary perks I have two slots unlocked. I picked follow through for my first what’s more important to pick for my second slot? Also what should I use for armor I don’t have unyielding armor set yet any other options I could use before until I get to it? Because right now I’m using Bos deep pocket armor set that my higher level friend created for me it’s level 50.
I like to run White Knight and the Backpack Mod if I'm going to be in normal armor for awhile and then I switch that out for Tru-Hiker when I get into Power armor. Switching them is pretty quick.
If you have Fireproof perk is it worth to have Hardy in your legendary effects? I was lucky on unlucky to get it 3 times in my unyielding secret service set. I wonder how good or bad it. The same question with additional +25 fire resistance.
@@AngryTurtle I playing stealth comando, but I have a problem with Firestarter's at Eviction Notice. This is a only thing can kill me fast. Not sure how to handle that even with so much exposive resistance.

Awesome build! I made my own build "spec ops sniper". I focus on non automatic rifles, sniper, and automatic weapons, as well as explosive damage. Mainly focusing on sniping/sneaking, but I'm able to switch to automatic rifles and grenades if I find my position has been compromised.
Exactly what I'm doing - and I'm ONLY level 50 something! Plasma rifle uses ammo that at level 3 of the legendary perk (the FIRST one that I upgrade) gives me 104 units per craft - really cool. I'm a hoarder, so... Mats always there 😏
@@AyratAGL No, they are not anymore. But they are viable. If you want to get the oneshot you have to go with Gauss Rifle. Before that it was the Bolt Action, it benefits from rifle as well as gunslinger perks. That blocks a big amount of SPECIAL but max out the damage.
Which Gauss rifle is best, Anti armour, Bloodied, Two shot or Instigating? Guess that instigating gains higher damage than usual due to high base damage on weapon 🤔.

I've beening using a vats gauss rifle build and it's been great, but I fully forgot about demolition expert thanks now m build will be complete. I hope
Quad/crit damage best on gauss rifle ...more dps on bosses... Bloody crit d or aa crit d for secondary Epr sniper for long range Handmade for close range
I know I'm 4 months late and not sure if this build is still really good, but I'm currently new to fallout 76. I was wondering what exact order should I put my perks in because I didn't quite understand when you were explaining.
Hey Turtle! Been using Instigating Gauss, it is my favorite. Can you do a comparison between other Gauss rifles like two shot, stalkers and bloodied? Thank you.
Can I respec a character using that special board? Sorry I'm new to 76 and learning the ropes. Got a lvl 30 strength build but want to make a sneaky sniper build so I've made a new character. I will loosely follow guides as I ultimately like to build my own character. Great advice and awesome video though buddy, much appreciated 👍🏼 Edit: Not sure if it's viable but in an ideal world I'd like a light armour build with manual sniping, no vats and great damage lol 😂
Love your channel and vidéos, super logic and explanation. I play on PS4, and gave up on the Gauss Rifle a long time ago....misses in vats or not most of the time...Will try the plasma rifle as a future option. Union power armour is awesome.
I'm brand new to this wonderful game. I'm only level 20. Sniper builds have always been my favorite to play. This legendary perk system is somewhat confusing to me. At what level do we start acquiring them?
Turtle holy s*** bro I never even thought about not charging the non-crit shot. That's genius!! 🤣🤣 great information once again the turtle comes through✌✌ thank you for this amazing tip I would have never thought of
Ahhh my build i've been using for a year now and soloing everthing is out now. oh well only difrence is i use a full set of overeaters hellcat with EP's for DO's mostly to farm ammo for the plasma rifle
This game is so broken with weapon logic i started in august and within a month i had a guass rifle that pumped out 3,000 crit headshot damage. Its insane. I didnt know about nukes yet but i accidentally re rolled it and lost whatever buff i had. I wish i could have tested it on earl I cannot repliacte this so hopefully your tutorial will help me get back to that point.
Would this work with thorn or solar armor cause I’m sick and tired of seeing them just sitting around and not being used for anything other than display
If you’re stilling going through the grind like some of us, this build might befuddle you by level limitations Don’t worry pick what ever gun (and its corresponding perks, the stun and piercing as well) and you can actually have a VERY fun time with a suppressed shotgun if you want. The only other important part would of course be the sneak card, or really just *where* you get your stealth capability source and your agility score obvs
Wish snipers got a buff. Hate that every build has to be bloodied to be decent. Would love to rock a hunting rifle again like I did in 4 and even new vegas and 3.
On my alt I use the gauss rifle and always aim for the head (in VATS of course). Not saying it's wrong to use it freely and aim, but VATS shots to the head, especially criticals, are devastating. And I do charge it. Because I don't like roaming around with 20% hp on my low level. I either go for a 50% hit or even better go for a 50% crit, drink the sweetwater special blend, use the damn party girl/boy perk under charisma with herbivore and get that sweet +15 perception bonus and never miss a headshot. I do really really hate everyone who speaks about balance, we got to have more balance, yet they're always running around in unyielding, bloodied and 5-20% hp. How else would you get +15 to all stats and actual decent damage... It's amazing how diversified this game is and how many different builds I see (sarcasm included).
I still miss my 3 awesome star gauss rifle which I lost because of Bethesda buggy game. Still until this moment I was not able to recover it neither getting another one with the same effects. It was not a legacy weapon but a crafted one and spent nearly 800 legendary cores to get the one I lost.
Tbh this build is not that much different to my everyday build that I use for my sneak commando. I’ve got to the point that I can’t be annoyed my ar*e to change around now. I do have a lovely bloody explosive sniper rifle that I enjoy when I decide to run around in my ghilli suit 😀
you are using the Enclave flamer... One of the rarest mods in the game... took me over 6 days of farming to finally get that mod.. should have used something a little more available to the community...
I've just went to using non legendary weapons cause when legacy's are gone the same people pushing them out will turn there sights on crit weapons & food builds. Paid full price 4 copies on release got over 8k hrs + buying all atom shop item's & 1st sense release I will not spend another dime after they remove my favorite weapons. that I've only used in my private world so no need for 1st anymore. But hey that's my opinion
It's all great, except Gauss rifle with a silencer is a massive, ugly piece of junk, that is painfull to look at T_T And I still don't get the idea behind a silencer on a gauss weapon XD My main character went through sniper rifle with .50 cal receiver, lever action and semi-auto Fixer. And even with proper stealth they just lack the power and range badly :/ I mean look at the range and (practical) accuracy of a bow or a black powder rifle in F76. They are pretty much amazing. They other thing is using a semi-auto in VATS. I mean HTF it makes you miss 4-5 shots in a row, with 95% hit chance at a distance that you could throw the rifle at enemy easily ? Ok. Time for a deep breath and a cup of tea 😉 Apparently sniper rifles were good in F76 back in the day, but Betty nerfed them because of pvp. Nowadays when pvp is barely present (or have much sense with the same f#####g builds) it would just make sense to give some love to rifles
Turtle why would you use power armor at all? You’re you’re making a sniper build, which already on the face of it has a certain amount of levitation in the game I mean not not a very powerful build usually snipers was not very universally, practical practical, so why wouldn’t you use stealth and if you needed rad for Tection jump into stealth suit I mean that seems like it would make fire more sense than power armor which you know really can’t be in any way stealthy since none of us, Nick Berks, or any of the associated perks work while in power armor
Why are you telling us if we are interested in mutations, is not like we can choose the mutations we have, I would like to be carnivore and maybe to not have energy dmg crippled, and I think you have the same in this, but, why are you saying this? And can we buy syringes that give us the same permanent mutations? I have no idea where to buy them from anyway, can you help?

Great upload! Thanks! Going to give this build a go (good luck me finding an EP.. )
Found about plasma flamer like two years ago but Legendary enclave plasma is a Game changer!. Gonna adjust my build following yours. Thanks turtle.
Good luck finding Enclave mod. Luckily I saw a vid about Slug Buster when I started and made the choice to go with Raiders for the gold run.
I've beening using a vats gauss rifle build and it's been great, but I fully forgot about demolition expert thanks now m build will be complete. I hope
wow had no idea enclave plasma flamer was good out of vats
Quad/crit damage best on gauss rifle ...more dps on bosses...
Bloody crit d or aa crit d for secondary
Epr sniper for long range
Handmade for close range
have you tried to test a power armor unarmed build? anyway to make those power armor arm mods not be pointless.
I know I'm 4 months late and not sure if this build is still really good, but I'm currently new to fallout 76. I was wondering what exact order should I put my perks in because I didn't quite understand when you were explaining.
order doesn't matter just get them all
Great advice and awesome video though buddy, much appreciated 👍🏼
Edit: Not sure if it's viable but in an ideal world I'd like a light armour build with manual sniping, no vats and great damage lol 😂
Does long shot work with scopes?
yes
Love your channel and vidéos, super logic and explanation. I play on PS4, and gave up on the Gauss Rifle a long time ago....misses in vats or not most of the time...Will try the plasma rifle as a future option. Union power armour is awesome.
Just found an instigating and +25% aiming guass rifle and now I am here. 😂
I'm brand new to this wonderful game. I'm only level 20. Sniper builds have always been my favorite to play. This legendary perk system is somewhat confusing to me. At what level do we start acquiring them?
Level 50
Turtle holy s*** bro I never even thought about not charging the non-crit shot. That's genius!! 🤣🤣 great information once again the turtle comes through✌✌ thank you for this amazing tip I would have never thought of
Glad to see my favorite rifle getting some love. Stay gold Turtle Boi!
returning player looking for NA Rifle builds. this is waaay beyond my current level, but it looks sick!
Almost identical to my rifleman build former gunslinger. And i use medium scopes instead,
Ahhh my build i've been using for a year now and soloing everthing is out now. oh well only difrence is i use a full set of overeaters hellcat with EP's for DO's mostly to farm ammo for the plasma rifle
Would this work with thorn or solar armor cause I’m sick and tired of seeing them just sitting around and not being used for anything other than display
yes it will work
Why are you using bandolier tho ?
it was before free ammo storage
If you’re stilling going through the grind like some of us, this build might befuddle you by level limitations
Don’t worry pick what ever gun (and its corresponding perks, the stun and piercing as well) and you can actually have a VERY fun time with a suppressed shotgun if you want.
A year later, is this build still viable? I have always loved sniper builds, stealth or otherwise.
yes it is gauss rifle is still the best sniper
I still miss my 3 awesome star gauss rifle which I lost because of Bethesda buggy game. Still until this moment I was not able to recover it neither getting another one with the same effects. It was not a legacy weapon but a crafted one and spent nearly 800 legendary cores to get the one I lost.
I got 2 shotted gaus rifle +25 fire rate. And superior damage.superior damge to scorgebeast and i used all chems 1100 damage
How did tou get 76 atributes points my max is 51
legendary perks
@@AngryTurtle oooohhh i get it !!so the grind is really worth it i was wondering why people were lvl 687 and stuff Xd
Tbh this build is not that much different to my everyday build that I use for my sneak commando. I’ve got to the point that I can’t be annoyed my ar*e to change around now. I do have a lovely bloody explosive sniper rifle that I enjoy when I decide to run around in my ghilli suit 😀
So instigating is good for snipers thank you
It's better with VATS, I got a bloodied with vats hit chance and it's really good
you are using the Enclave flamer... One of the rarest mods in the game... took me over 6 days of farming to finally get that mod.. should have used something a little more available to the community...
as I said in the video regular plasma flamer almost as powerful and widely available
@@AngryTurtle idk how the heck i missed you saying that.. must of skipped right over it
I really wish the only viable sniper wasn't the guass rifle. I absolutely abhor the charge time.
Love your OX horn build
very usefull as always 👍
I've just went to using non legendary weapons cause when legacy's are gone the same people pushing them out will turn there sights on crit weapons & food builds. Paid full price 4 copies on release got over 8k hrs + buying all atom shop item's & 1st sense release I will not spend another dime after they remove my favorite weapons. that I've only used in my private world so no need for 1st anymore. But hey that's my opinion
I am new to the game....I don't know how to wear that huge plate armors without getting super drained :S
Well thats Sniper build is not New. Its a Regular bloody weapon with stealth perks.
nice build,i like it
I'm glad you like it
It's all great, except Gauss rifle with a silencer is a massive, ugly piece of junk, that is painfull to look at T_T
And I still don't get the idea behind a silencer on a gauss weapon XD
My main character went through sniper rifle with .50 cal receiver, lever action and semi-auto Fixer.
Ok. Time for a deep breath and a cup of tea 😉
Apparently sniper rifles were good in F76 back in the day, but Betty nerfed them because of pvp. Nowadays when pvp is barely present (or have much sense with the same f#####g builds) it would just make sense to give some love to rifles
Love it!
You dont need enclave flamer, slug buster will melt everything in seconds
I have no idea where to buy them from anyway, can you help?
yes you can use serums to get specific mutations and as long as you have starched genes equipped under luck they will not change
👍
There’s no need to snipe in 76
Funky Duds???
no need
#TurtlehoodofSteel
Once Bughesda see this they will nerf or remove this weapon. Thanks
