Amazing room Michael - the evolution of your gear, yet the recognisable sound stage and cabinetry. Great editing and talk through your setup. Well done mate!
@@Youthman I’m was about to order a pair of Prime Pinnacle towers & Prime Center and of course the black ash is out of stock until April 8th! 🙄 I’ve been wanting to hear those since they came out! I’ve had Definitive Technology bookshelves and towers and currently have Canton towers and Center along with a VTF-3 MK5 15” sub!

My theater looks and sounds great but your attention to details and forward thinking is the difference between mine and yours. Hiding the mains and subs is such a much cleaner look, I have the room but never thought of doing that. Back into the wallet I go...thanks Youthman :)
You maximized that room as much as possible. Excellent work getting all that equipment in there while also keeping it essentially 100% hidden from view. That's always a challenge.
@@Youthman I do. But seriously Michael, that is beautiful. Happy for you and the family. BTW, I really enjoyed the video of you and your wife. You guys remind me of myself and my wife. Peace and Blessings to you! 🙏

Thanks, Michael for all of the awesome inspiration! I have spent the last 6 months building out my home theater and your videos have helped me along the way! You are a blessing!
Hi Michael! psg from the Klipsch forums here. Wow, nice TH-cam channel, website, and everything! Congrats! Your setup has always been awesome but it's great to see it in detail like that! I see you upgrade nearly everything all the time but I hope you keep those speakers for a long time! 😉

Youthman, I’ve been a subscriber for a while and you’ve encouraged me to finally realize a personal home theater. I’ve been a fan of home theater since sine purchasing my first Onkyo pro logic receiver in the early 90s and your channel has given me the motivation to move forward. Thanks buddy.
I've read that your riser is about twelve inches high, but what is the depth of it? I'm building a new house and am not sure on what size to make my riser. Are you happy with the dimensions of yours or would you change them if you had to do it again?
Two questions about your Lutron Casita dimmers. Which version did you get to dim your LED strips? What compaitible power supply do you need on the LED strips? Ohh and do you think one dedicated 15A circuit is enough for your subwoofers? Im considering two dedicated 15A. What do you think?
Congratulations! I am so excited to see your advances in this hobby, as you have become an inspiration to and for all those looking to improve their audio video experiences. I have watched you grow and gain knowledge and understanding but applying it with such passion is rare to see. Im glad to see your set-up has evolved since the early days when choosing a power amplifier was something we questioned and using separate components was unheard of. I just wanted to say thank you! Great video again
Great update! I have a question for you, what is your opinion on using the latest Klipsch, La Scalas for LCR, behind the screen, and also along with them, using Cornwells that would be mounted just over the LaScalas, not touching them. I will be using SVS PB16 ultra subs 6 of them behind the screen, 2 double stack each, on each side of the center channel, 1 sub on far left, and far right of the LR’s. For my rear setup, LR using LaScalas and Cornwell double stacked not touching each other, with two more SVS PB16 subs on the inside of rear LR. I will be using Atmos, front and rear height, and side speakers. Be using extra amps, by Klipsch to power whats needed. My theater room will be 21’ feet by 30’ feet +, with 12’ ceilings. Is there a way to dial in those speakers to blend with each other? This is in the planning stage at the moment, theater will be a dedicated one.
Hiding La Scala's behind the screen is the ultimate exercise of humbleness and understatement. Great den Mike. A lot of passion, thoughts, resources put together diligently.
With all the changes over 14 years, the speakers which have withstood the test of time are the Klipsch La Scala's up front and the Klipsch RS-62 II's on the sides. Incredible speakers.
Great tour of your room! I see you sit quite close to your 150" screen. Is the a problem? I personally think of upgrading to a 124" myself but worry that it gets to big even with my seating 4 meters away.
I’m 9’ from 150” in 2.35:1. Absolutely love it. I have yet to have anyone sit down for a demo feel the need to move to the back row. With that said, I would absolutely not go any larger and if my room was a tad bit longer, I might sit about a foot further back so probably no more than that
I have always enjoyed games (Atari, older PC gaming, Nintendo and PS4). It wasn’t until I bought the PS5 and he got married that I began playing regularly with him. And with group chat and headsets, we get to communicate for several hours at a time doing what he loves.
As always Michael, top notch! It’s amazing to see what you’ve managed to accomplish over the years with your home theater. Keep it up man!! Many blessings
I have a few questions about your system... You selected Dolby ATMOS as your main focus, did you ever consider DTS:X, and what pushed you to one format over another? The second question is, can an ATMOS focused system also be used for DTS:X, or are there additional speaker requirements?
As a current college student, I aspire to one day have my own home theater like this. Amazing setup man I could watch movies and play games in there all day long.

Awesome home theater, I really enjoyed ur video it gave me ideas on what I can do to enhance my home theater. Keep up the fantastic work u do on posting home theater videos. 👍👍
What were a few of the main reasons you upgraded to the AV 7706? I own the AV 7705 and I have looked at its successor and I must say outside of the HDMI upgrade to the latest version of HDCP I was not real interested. The additional upgrades are not widely available yet if at all. I didn't see much that was melting my butter. Or, did you just upgrade for the channel and to stay relevant?
It was mainly for the channel. If you have the AV7705, you won’t hear any significant difference in the AV7706. The AV7706 just better future proof although 8K is still a LONG way off.
Love all the updates Youthman! It's looking great! I'm taking a lot of inspiration for my theater later this year. Although, I think I may stick with bi-pole side surrounds, I feel like they make sense in the middle of two rows like yours. I'm not sure if a direct radiating speaker would cover both rows evenly.
Your Marantz costs more than my entire home theater setup. If I had that home theater room you have i would be showing it off on TH-cam. Stay bless and healthy.
Thanks Randy. Keep in mind my current setup is the culmination of the past 14 years of many, many, many upgrades. Certainly didn’t happen over night. 😉
Love your videos Youthman , your passion and dedication to the hobby is inspiring and gives me something to strive for. Would love one your demo discs up hear in Canada . God bless .
Hey Youthman... really awesome! 2 questions. Do you remember which paint you used on the sidewalls? I like the color. Also, are your can lights 4” or 6”? If they’re 4”, do you feel they provide enough light? I’m currently putting together my room that’s 28’x20’x8’. I wanted to go with six 4” recessed led’s but wasn’t sure it’d be enough light. I also wanted to leave some room to eventually do a fiber optic star ceiling.
Nice theater Mike. I have upgraded my theater last year too. Every equipment including projector, speakers, amps, pre-pro all upgraded. 😀. I have the 7706 too and I love it. I got the 7706 after seeing your review of the 7705. Thanks for all the excellent reviews you post. 🙏. I only wish I had the space like you do. My room is 16x12x9. 😃
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing your setup. Question: I have a 17x14x9 room and for the 2.35:1 150” screen size, projectorcentral recommends the throw distance to be 21.5ft for the NX7. It seems you might be at 15 or 16ft between the projector and screen. Did you run into any issues?
He said the room is 19ft. Total. I’m guessing it’s around 17 screen to back wall and the projector is outside the room. I’d estimate he’s about an 18 ft throw.
Ron is close. Room is 19’ deep. Screen is around 3’ from the front wall. Projector had to be moved outside the room into a closet and it barely was enough to fill 150” 2.35:1 screen. There is a “zoom” setting I had to enable in the JVC to get it to fit perfectly.
For your room size, how far back is your front seat to the screen? I'm trying to figure out my layout.... my room is 16'W x 20'L x 9' ceiling. I have a 135" screen already mounted and just picked up a Marantz SR8015 for a 7.2.4. But now I'm seeing 7.2.6 is "better"... 😢 i need to decide before cutting holes. lol
Would you see an 85 inch lcd tv, as a down-grade from a projector, and screen? For I used to have a projector in my basement, that was an older 1080p optoma projector, that worked out well for gaming/ movies… but as I am sitting here, I am starting to think it may make more sense to hold off buying a display, for my new home theater, and go with a projector as opposed to a tv… so I just wanted to ask you, here my room is coming along well, where we have the speakers each wired, and ready for their installation, once we finish painting the room, which will all be black…
@@Youthman hmm, interesting, well I will probably be giving the x95k a shot this year, which I am really kind of curious about, seeing how well Sony developed the technology, for I am still hesitant to buy an oled, over fears of burn in/it’s short life span.
I like the way you mounted the side surround speaker in the middle of the window, I have the same window right where my left side surround speaker should go. I have a fireplace where left side surround should go. I mounted both up high and angled down
Great video. I am in the early stages of building out a theater room with dimensions similarly to yours (14 X 19 X 9) 7.2.4 and am wanting a 150inch 2.40 aspect ratio. I want to purchase the JVC NZ7 to pair with a Seymour screen. My question: Can I project a 150 inch diagonal image at 17 - 18 feet away from the screen with the JVC NZ7 or will the picture be awful at that distance? Really appreciate any advice you can provide. BTW my setup is going to be ARCAM AVR30, PA-740, B&W 7.3S2 L/C/R, B&W 7.4S2 Surrounds, B&W DB4S Sub (x2), Panamax 5400 PM.
Sounds like you’re putting together an incredible home theater Tim. Be sure to submit it once you get it built on my website. Projector central has a projector calculator that you can plug in the model of your projector and it will tell you exactly the range for the throw distance
Amazing setup I only wish I could have a system half as good I have a 5.2.1 speaker wall and ceiling mounted atmos set up with an onkyo receiver! Do you have any idea where I can purchase a dolby atmos test disk?
Upgraded to the NX7 11 months ago 🤣 th-cam.com/video/fF2NPP89LnU/w-d-xo.html Significant upgrade over the Epson 5040UB due to better contrast and black levels. Absolutely incredible projector.
Hi beautiful setup. I notice you have a white screen not a grey screen. Is it because the white screen give better white and the grey screen may not give you the correct colour or dim down all the white color or won't POP as much as a white screen? Thanks
I’m using Monolith 40’ fiber optic HDMI and it runs flawlessly even with native 4K material. I made a video on them here - th-cam.com/video/-khK6cCq9Gk/w-d-xo.html
Wow your room is looking great! The cabinetry around the screen is amazing! I have a CNC and even with it I'll never be able to match the cosmetic beauty of those cabinets. I like the pull out to access behind the equipment, I'm going to need to do something like that, all the amplifiers and miniDSP modules will be under the screen on mine. Great job on your system!
I'm in the planning stages of my build. 16ft wide by 24ft deep room. I'll be 15 feet from the screen and was going to do a 135" 16:9 which I thought was "correct". What's the viewing angle with your setup from the front seats?
Hey Michael! Great video, thank you! Question for you, what is the viewing distance from your 153" screen to your front row mlp reclined, and do you feel it is perfect or would you go larger or smaller? Tia. Pete
9’. I would absolutely not go any larger. If my room was longer, I might move it back 1’ but it’s fantastic where it is. Completely immersive experience.
Nice setup. I use to have a 135 inch screen. Nobody was ever around to use it or the sound system, so it all ended up being mostly wasted money. I found investing money into the main living area to be more beneficial. I did re-use some of the speakers at least.
@@Youthman That was mine at first and then it turned into once a month and then 3-4 times a year. It got used more for games then movies. I kept upgrading equipment thinking it would help. Having nice gear in the main living room now gets used daily and for proper content. Hope yours continues to be used by more then just yourself.
Often it is me in here (like now reviewing some new speakers), but occasionally my wife and I watch a movie together or I’ll invite friends over for movie night.
I got 100" screen with an epson hc1060, 5.1 surround sound. With 1 pb4000 & klipsch bookshelfs & some comfy couches that we bought at our local furniture store (as of right now 😄) & i love it! You sir have an amazing system & would love to experience it. How much are the tickets for your home theater? 😂
Through 15 years of bartering, buying / selling audio gear, finding killer Youthman deals, DIY, and over the past 2 years partnering with brands that I love, I have zero invested in my home theater.
What paint did you use for the grey sides, black doors, and the black ceiling? We are building a theater now and I keep going back and forth if I should make the sidewalls black as well instead of grey (which looks nicer). We are definitely painting the ceiling, front wall, and doors black. Leaning towards doing the entire room black but your room looks so nice with the grey sides!
Great Video, just about to build my HT. very useful that said the dims of the room. I’m also planning a 150” screen, how far from the screen is main listening position? I got a lot of woodworking to do. Thanks for sharing bud. From UK
Always have loved that woodwork border, and columns you have put around your screen. Puts great cinematic atmosphere into the room. THX movies such as T2, Ind. Jones, and Titanic, would really play great on your setup. Equalizer 2 with Denzel Washington would give your Atmos a good workout. Love your work mate.
Hey sir, I saw the video of when you had the silver ticket screen and was wondering how long you kept it up before replacing it? I have the LG hu810p laser projector and I have it in my living room where the paint is not dark, it's an average living room. I was wondering if you would recommend the silver ticket gray screen or something like that as I want to dail in just a little better black level without sacrificing the shadow detail. I am currently using regular white blackout cloth. Any help would be greatly helpful!
Love your setup, really awesome actually as you can tell it's all you. This wasn't done professional that someone dumped big money into. It actually is inspiring. Question, if it's a 2:35 screen how does that work with 1:85.1 movies?
Any thoughts on a new tour video of your HT? I bet a lot has changed in two years! That woodwork around the screen is gorgeous. Just curious do ever you run into light reflection issues with it being around the screen? If so, how do you deal with that?
Yes, I mentioned that in the post. New HT Tour is long overdue. It’s been over a year and sooooo much has changed. How do you want to meet up for lunch? They were probably reflections from my cabinet, but they don’t bother me. Some people go all out with a completely black hole of a room with zero character. I’ve tried to balance both aesthetics with functionality.
What kind of job do you have that supports this? I have always wondered what people did for a living that enabled them to be able to afford a setup like this.
I haven’t heard the Yamaha so I can’t comment on it. The Marantz AV7706 and the Monolith HTP-1 are solid choices. The 7706 has performed flawlessly and sounds fantastic. The HTP-1 is better suited for guys that like to really tweak their system. Dirac is more powerful than Audyssey but has a higher learning curve as well.
Hi, always thank you for all the information. I have question that not directly related with this video. Is it important to have power conditioner? I am planning to get powermax m5400 but indecisive. I am on the process to upgrade my home theater. I will have monolith 11x and anthem avm90. Thank you.
Hi Greg thanks for the kind words. Honestly I have never heard any difference using a power conditioner. They are basically expensive surge protectors. But they do have some nice features like power sequencing so that your amplifiers each delayed so that they don’t pour power at the same time when they initially booed up
@@Youthman Thank you. Do you recommend to get a cheap surge protector to protect my home theater components? Or is it worth it to get expensive power conditioner with surge protector like Panamax? Thank you again.🙏

Love your videos Youthman , your passion and dedication to the hobby is inspiring and gives me something to strive for. Would love one your demo discs up hear in Canada . God bless .
Thank you Vibe. I have given away all of my Dolby Atmos, DTS and AURO-3D demo disks. I’m in the process of trying to get some from THX to give away.
I don’t remember but shared the paint swatches in this video - th-cam.com/video/dUE1lg9uC-g/w-d-xo.html
My cans are 6”
Nice theater Mike.
I'm new to all this so forgive me if I ask a dumb question. I'm wondering what amp is powering your subs?
haha those underground subwoofers.....You're living the life man
😎
For your room size, how far back is your front seat to the screen? I'm trying to figure out my layout.... my room is 16'W x 20'L x 9' ceiling. I have a 135" screen already mounted and just picked up a Marantz SR8015 for a 7.2.4. But now I'm seeing 7.2.6 is "better"... 😢 i need to decide before cutting holes. lol
In my typical reclined position, from the front row, my eyes are 9 feet from the screen
150” diagonal in 2.35:1
Congrats on the SR 8015. That’s an incredible AVR.
More perfect..Bro Youthman I love it ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍👍👍👍
Me too!
For movies, I much prefer a large projection image over even an 85” OLED. You simply cannot get the same immersion from a TV even at 85 inches.
I use an NX7 In my theater room. It’s about 16 feet away for 150 inch diagonal image and it looks fantastic
@@Youthman Will do.
Amazing setup I only wish I could have a system half as good I have a 5.2.1 speaker wall and ceiling mounted atmos set up with an onkyo receiver! Do you have any idea where I can purchase a dolby atmos test disk?
I loved the virtual tour!!! I'm extremely impressed.
Thank you kindly.
Hi - do you use a surge protector with your equipment?
Didnt you update your Panasonic to a Epson recently? When did you get the JVC? How much better was it than the Epson?
Upgraded to the NX7 11 months ago 🤣 th-cam.com/video/fF2NPP89LnU/w-d-xo.html
Significant upgrade over the Epson 5040UB due to better contrast and black levels. Absolutely incredible projector.
Thanks, you convinced me to get the Valencia seating and it’s awesome.
That’s great! Enjoy
Absolutely awesome theater Michael! Thank You much for the look.
Thank you Hi-Fi
10' ceilings better for home theater vs 9' ? i think i read somewhere 10' makes a huge difference for atmos
Hi beautiful setup. I notice you have a white screen not a grey screen. Is it because the white screen give better white and the grey screen may not give you the correct colour or dim down all the white color or won't POP as much as a white screen? Thanks
White screens tend to provide more gain while gray screens provide better contrast with less gain. I prefer not to lose image brightness
Love the upgrades! How do you get around the long run you have with the new 2.1 HDMI? My fiber HDMI is not cutting it. Wondering if you know a trick.
I’m using Monolith 40’ fiber optic HDMI and it runs flawlessly even with native 4K material. I made a video on them here - th-cam.com/video/-khK6cCq9Gk/w-d-xo.html
Right on. thank you!
Thank you kindly. My theater gets used 3-4 times a week.
If you don't mind me asking, how much have you invested in all the "gear" for your home theater? Thx!
Through 15 years of bartering, buying / selling audio gear, finding killer Youthman deals, DIY, and over the past 2 years partnering with brands that I love, I have zero invested in my home theater.
so much inspirations in this video, loving those La Scala, thanks for the video sir!
Thank you kindly. The LaScalas served me well for 7 years. I have recently sold them and upgraded - th-cam.com/video/xKD15EE40x4/w-d-xo.html
I shared the colors in this video - th-cam.com/video/dUE1lg9uC-g/w-d-xo.html
I personally would not paint your entire room black. But that’s just me.
@@Youthman thank you! Love your channel!!
Appreciate it
Youthman! How do the various call of duty titles sound in your home theater? Do you play on your speakers in Atmos?
Great Video, just about to build my HT. very useful that said the dims of the room. I’m also planning a 150” screen, how far from the screen is main listening position? I got a lot of woodworking to do. Thanks for sharing bud. From UK
I’m 9’ from 150” 2.35:1
@@Youthman thanks chief, looks like i was in the right ballpark. I might move back 0.5 meters about 2ft
My rear row is 14’ and it’s too far for my preference. I would be ok with 10’ or 11’. I just don’t have the depth in my room
Always have loved that woodwork border, and columns you have put around your screen.
Puts great cinematic atmosphere into the room.
THX movies such as T2, Ind. Jones,
and Titanic,
would really play great on your setup.
Equalizer 2 with Denzel Washington would give your Atmos a good workout.
Love your work mate.
Thank you for the kind words Phil. Have a great week
Hey sir,
I saw the video of when you had the silver ticket screen and was wondering how long you kept it up before replacing it? I have the LG hu810p laser projector and I have it in my living room where the paint is not dark, it's an average living room. I was wondering if you would recommend the silver ticket gray screen or something like that as I want to dail in just a little better black level without sacrificing the shadow detail. I am currently using regular white blackout cloth.
Any help would be greatly helpful!
I have actually never owned a silver ticket screen. Just a 103” Elite and then upgraded to a 150” DIY Seymour Center Stage XD
@@Youthman do you have any recommendations for a screen that would work for my living room condition with the LG?
Thank you for your time!
For living room setups, I would recommend an ALR screen due to the ambient light
@@Youthman you the man youthman!
Looks beautiful Youthman!!!
Very very nice set up mate. It’s beautiful.
Awesome seeing your room and gear, great ideas everywhere...thanks!
Thank you John
Just curious, how far are you stitting from the 150" screen? Is it comfortable? I have a 126" 2:35 screen and will be about 9-10 feet from it.
9’ from 150” in 2.35:1. Completely immersive. Might be a tad large but I love it.
Love your setup, really awesome actually as you can tell it's all you. This wasn't done professional that someone dumped big money into. It actually is inspiring. Question, if it's a 2:35 screen how does that work with 1:85.1 movies?
Thank you. This video shows how I handle different aspect ratios - th-cam.com/video/Jr_C6et66UE/w-d-xo.html
@@Youthman thanks.
Hi youthman, i love the colors you used! How many hours do you have on the N7?
Around 750 hrs.
@@Youthman youre going fast brother!
What kind of job do you have that supports this? I have always wondered what people did for a living that enabled them to be able to afford a setup like this.
TH-cam is my job. Worked at it for 2 years while having a full-time job and a home business before I was able to become self-employed in Jan of 2020.
@@Youthman very nice!
Hello Youthman, please tell me which AV should i buy 7.2.4 between YAMAHA CX-A5200, MARANTZ 7706, and MONOLITH THP-1?
I haven’t heard the Yamaha so I can’t comment on it. The Marantz AV7706 and the Monolith HTP-1 are solid choices. The 7706 has performed flawlessly and sounds fantastic. The HTP-1 is better suited for guys that like to really tweak their system. Dirac is more powerful than Audyssey but has a higher learning curve as well.
Do you have any videos on what services are used for theater content (movies)?
Is it worth it is always such a subjective question. Only you can determine if something is worth the investment.
Absolutely beautiful setup. Congratulations 👍🏾
Thank you kindly
