im assuming your talking about falling in reverse, while im not a fan of them personally, a large amount of their show (lighting, backing vocals/choirs, sound effects and synth) was ran by the laptops so they really couldnt play their songs to the fullest extent without the laptops.
I would not take my expensive guitars out in that. I am really impressed they played, at that level most either would not or go under cover and play. They rocked it out in the pouring rain with the fans!!

In play in a classic rock cover band. I have never played in the rain (nor would I), but having a small bottle of baby powder on hand is a lifesaver on a muggy day.
It was an absolute fantastic show and I honestly didnt really hear any struggles but maybe that was just because the moment caught me. Was standing maybe 4 meters / 12 feet infront if them in that pouring rain and the lightning over the stadium during MoP was just amazing.
I’m a blues rock guitarist now . But these guys got me into guitar. Both of them are very good at what they do. Kirk gets slack but he is a good metal lead guitarist. He appreciates history too. He has Greens and Moore’s Les Paul

They have backups of backups 100% and even if they dont, they can just snap their fingers and there would be a line of shops, ready to replace their current instruments just for the opportunity to work with tallica

People accuse Kirk of hiding behind his Wah. I don't see anyone composing great guitar solos on a Wah like Kirk, so it must not be the Wah. That's like saying Randy Rhoads was hiding behind his overdrive pedals, and Tony Iommi was hiding behind his modified Treble Booster pedal.

They are both using wireless for their guitars. There is some risk from the microphones if they were to touch them but I’m sure they have very good safety measures in place for that. People have died from getting electrocuted by musical gear but I don’t think it’s happened in a long time and I’m sure none of the gear the microphones are plugged into is getting wet.

Some bands guitartech waterproof and shield guitar cavity for live shows like this. They wouldn't do the show if it was at risk, most famous bands have also a security check list they give to the show place and if the list is not respected they don't come. It would be riskier for a small band with no roadies, tech and safety crew with some places where the electricity source is not even earthed to the ground and bad electronics in cheap guitars.
