It's so sweet that you guys spoke to that man, it makes for such a wholesome segment in the video and I'm glad that he didn't get discouraged by the language barrier
I don't know why nobody is making a big deal out of this but this was the best travel documentary I've ever seen. Just from the intro itself I got transported back to my teen years when I used to watch Anthony Bourdain and other travellers on TV. The way it was edited, the font that was used, the music and Tay's energy was like from a professional tv show. Not to mention that for sbd like me who has watched many travel vlogs throughout my life, I have seen so many of the big cities be done before and yet I've never heard of Cheung Chau and I found it absolutely wonderful. From the way you included that tidbit of information about the pirate who was an inspiration behind a PotC character to mentioning the data about the inhabitants' longevity (and why that is) to the interaction with that sweet older gentleman....every second of this was so enjoyable to watch. The whole island community reminds me of the centenarians in Okinawa who said that the reason for their longevity is because they are still phyically active even in old age and because they have great social bonds with the whole village and a stress free environment. This island seems like they have that as well. Taylor, you really outdid yourself with this video.
As a resident who lives in Cheung Chau for almost 20 years, I think the video captures the vibe of CC perfectly! I love how you included both vibrant and laid-back sides of the island. Thanks for the amazing video ❤️
Thank you so much for showing me the lesser known sides of HK. I love this. My 3 yo was watching with me and said he wants to jump inside the computer to eat all the yummy food you were eating. Do more HK hidden treasures video please!.
This is by far one of my favorite videos of yours ! The camera work vlogging.. Colors... Music... The way you edit. You are a master fir real. I enjoyed the content and you are fun and personable. Id go there if I ever got in that part of the world !! I loved how gracious you are to that elderly man and giggled. You have a sweet personality. Um no to going into caves.. Yikes. No cars.. A plus. You made my morning.. Happy day !! 💗💗 love from Los Angeles Oh that mochi with mango... Mochi is life. Lol 🌷
I love how she includes so much informative stuff in her videos but it doesn’t feel like I’m watching a documentary, there so entertaining and I look forward to her videos. The quality is just 🤌
When I went to HK 8 years ago my Hongkongese friend took me to an island with street food. There were boat houses, I do not recall cars being driven, and we def went there by ferry. I now think could have been Cheung Chau! I remember stuffing myself with seafood, particularly some huge oysters baked on a grill or charcoal with all sorts of condiments.. then squid skewers, fish balls, man what a day! I never knew where I was exactly but thanks for giving me a possible explanation!
I had so many good memories in Cheung Chau, I went there for high school field trip and with family when I was younger, now that I moved to Canada, almost forgot how Cheung Chau looked like! Thank you Taylor for making a video about Cheung Chau ToT!!! I would love to see you visiting other islands too
Never been this early! ❤ I love that the title is what food can you buy for 15$, but we get to see and learn much more about the island. It's not only interesting and entertaining, but also educational like your videos in general. 😊
A lot of people in South East Asia are super friendly and love having a chat, a guarantee if you travelled there you'd get a lot of people excited to talk to you about their home, and want to know about yours 😊
Since there is alot of anti asian racism we as asian americans are experiencing in the States, Thank you so much for sharing us this wonderful video of Cheung Chau.
I lived in Cheung Chau for 3 months in a nice airbnb before I moved back to Canada for good. It was the best time I’ve had during the whole 8 years I lived in HK. Thank you for this video. It brings back precious memories💕
I've been a long time fan of yours and WOW this video has got to be one of my favorites. You are a wonderful guide. You're respectful of the places you go and you're a fun and honest person. I'd love to see more travel vlogs of you going to popular areas in HK or somewhere else (hopefully when covid is more of a distant memory!) and talking about the history/food/showing us around. Not everyone can be good at making these kinds of videos, and wow have you nailed it!!
Taylor, the music is so sweet and charming. I love the blast to the past aspect of the songs. The food looks great. Thanks for being a great role model by being safe using the face mask.
The old man has stories to tell and I love that you interacted with him and he shared a piece of history. He seems like an incredibly genuine and kind human being. ;---; This was by far one of my favourite videos you've uploaded to date. Thank you!
I'm going to Hong Kong for my honeymoon, I'm so excited to show my fiance where I was born and eat all of the street food. Your videos are giving me so much excitement, I'm already planning all of the places we're going to see even though we're not going for another year 😂
Your informational videos are always my favorites. I can really tell the hard work you put into this video and it's paid off so immensely by creating such an immersive, entertaining, and informational video. Thank you Taylor!!!
The editing and your exploration of Cheung Chau is beyond words, I had such a fun time watching you visit the island!! Please keep doing more travel vlogs like this it's honestly the best content on youtube!
I love this kind of videos😍 I’ve been in Cheung Chau in May 2016 and I visited the island for the bun festival and it was so cool and interesting to see the bun towers and the little girl parade. It was such an unforgettable experience❤️
I love the editing of this video, my mother grew up in HK but I was born in the states and have not had the opportunity to visit...seeing your videos is so nice and being able to view HK through your lens has been so rewarding especially this past year, thank you for posting content!
The one good thing to come out of covid is exploring more of where you live. A lot of times we think of travel as going away from where we live, but with covid exploring more around you has become fun. For us it has :) Thanks for the vid!
Your content is so fun to watch. I've been watching your videos since 2016 and I appreciate the efforts you've done for us, your viewers. You're a real good influencer to us. Thank you, Tay!! Take care 😍😍❤❤
When she said that whenever she saw someone while riding the bike she went in to them, is literally me. I’ll be riding a bike on a trail and I’ll see someone and I’ll go directly into them, I can’t control it 🤣🤣. That’s why I only get on the bike when no people are around and walk beside it when there’s someone or else we both going into the river 😭
Another documentary-like super professional video!😍 I'm impressed by the high quality, but I also know that you, Taylor, could have always done something like this. Great job! Thank you for bringing this content to us💎
This was amazing, I love your exploration videos of Hong Kong! The old man excited to show you the lizard was the highlight of the video and 10/10 on the wholesome scale. 🥰
This video in particular felt like a travel show you'd find on PBS (which I mean as a huge compliment!) Thanks for taking us around to such interesting places!
Taylor - I’ve been a fan for a long time but I feel like you’ve been on such a roll recently!! Loving all of your content and you’re just * glowing * all the time
I'm sure it's very quiet there due to Covid but it does look like one of those undiscovered hidden gems that pop up now and then in videos like this. Enough there for a long weekend without traffic! Food looks great and I would like to have seen what they have beyond those snacks, especially the sea food.
This is really amazing. Almost like another world. Reminds me of 1950s movies from China that I watched growing up. And those movies were old at that time. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰Love, love, love this episode. Thank you so much.
Really enjoyed this vlog Taylor, I haven't been to Cheung Chau since the mid 70s when I was still in shorts, looks like it hasn't changed muck, keeping its integrity. Think this calls for a visit next time I'm in HK, whenever we are allowed to visit post COVID.
I was just editing my own vlog when your video popped up! 🥰 this is perfect time for a break! I checked few times this week to see if you uploaded something, Love how you share your life through TH-cam , I hope to be able to bring the same calm to someone’s day through my vlogs too 💕 thanks for sharing! 🍉🍡🍟🥛

I know, right?!
Remember when she tried to follow Epstein food vlog to carry out his legacy.

I like how you included the fumbly conversation with the kind local gentleman. Shows the endearing reality of an expat.
