This spring, I bought a VR6 mk1 TT on a whim. After replacing the suspension, I've grown to absolutely love the thing. Which is a problem as I'm building a 450 wheel B5A4 Avant and space us at a premium. The TT is not a sports car (with stock motor and suspension) but it's a very unique experience to drive. I'm now a big fan!
I think all Audis of this generation benefit from decent suspension, and none are sports cars. I had a S3 8l with this engine, loved it but not in the corners 😢
@@gnarshread I purchased a manual mk1 3.2 myself 8 years ago. As an inbetween car the crazy thing is I can't get rid of it it's really got under my skin! The handling is better than most people think. The only mods I've done is uprated front suspension top mounts the standard ones are to soft. It really improves the steering feel. And shock and springs slightly lowering the car by an inch. It' sounds great with vr6 engine. Surprisingly it gets a lot of positive attention. I get a nice car comment from a random strangers often.
Just bought a 2002 Mk1 with only 25,000 miles, 1 owner coupe 180hp, 5 speed. Love it. A modern remake of the Porsche 356. So well designed. Will never sell it.
I purchased my mk1 180 fwd becuse it was in mint condition i have grown to love these there is nothing on the road that looks like them and its a great icebreaker people always spark conversations about it
I've got the V6 DSG, Had it about 3 years and absolutely love it. Although it is nose heavy, the low stance, short wheel base and wide track means it really grips into the corners, and the DSG and V6 just fires it out of them. It may not match a Boxster or Lotus Elise, but knowing you've saved a few £k puts just as big a grin on your face ! 😁
The Audi tt mark one. What a gorgeous sports .I have a 55 reg in jet black 🖤 .Nearly 20 years old and it's garaged every night and is exceptionally clean. One of our daughters also has a 54reg in the light blue.Again her car is immaculate. These are just an absolute classic shape sports car.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have a 1999 Quattro 180 in silver 51 k miles from new. Not the fastest but v capable. I can just look at it and be happy very content inside and out design is just pure genius.
I bought my mauritius blue qs almost 3 years ago from a friend, I took it to le mans this year and the car was still faultless. If you have one I recommend a euro trip in it as its easy and fun to drive, even on long journeys the recaros are comfortable. I'm still dailying mine so the miles are creeping up but the car still looks and drives great.
I still miss my mk1 TT quattro roadster,I love the way it looks, and it stuck to the road and for a convertible felt solid and i would definitely have another one. Maybe a QS?
Found this car today and I was like do I like this or do I hate this? After some consultation I have decided that I quite like it even thoug top gear did it a bit dirty
He considered all 3 options but went for the cheapest. To be fair I own a 225 Quattro and it’s so much fun. I can’t get in to a proposition comfortably cos I’m a big guy
Those then when Tec was not just garbage but a trade ™️ mark...every taste is fun & every flavour is an excitement. Lately things are just rolled out anyhow cos is more about quantity not quality.
Love these cars! Kudos to the chap who owns it and getting in front of the camera to chat about it, well done dude 💪🏻

Did they?
Ya the 6sp with short shift kit is almost worth the Achilles tendonitis. What's up with the clutch pedal pressure in these?
