How do I get on your discord? I have one hell of a story to tell you about my scooter experience. It involves the federal law enforcement
EDIT: and I have the ability to prove everything.
Scooter gal here, and daily rider, I am absolutely here for this! Scooters make riding more accessible to those of us who can't with the foot controls. Absolutely amazing. The scooter life has really made for zen life. Everyone wants to talk about it just like a motorcycle but it's a different kind of convo. I ride a 150cc cherry red and chrome knockoff Vespa and it is so damn cute. It can get away from idiots from behind quick enough if you're paying attention. Which we should be anyway. It's easy to work on, and very accessible for someone who wants to learn how to work on small engines. Tinker and fiddle and have fun with it. I've had zero issues and broke it in myself. I average 45 to 50 mpg but I live in a windy location. So much fun and like he said just cruising around and enjoying life, being part of the scenery not just looking at it. I have done the coffee in one hand and just chillin at the light jamming to my music. Local restaurant and museum stickers on my topbox. 😂Fri kin love my scooter. And I'm a truck girl. Big switch.
Obviously, still gear up. Helmet gloves good leather boots minimum. That's my minimum.
very cool , your comment kinda changed my mind on scooters tbh , from now on im gonna wave to scooters as well
@@derfritz very nice! I live kinda small town so we all see each other around and we all wave.
"The thrill is the same no matter the frame!"
Perfect for the bank, post office, library, store , laundry and keeps miles off my motorcycle
Knock off vespa? Can you mention the actual brand?
Me too. I commute on a Yamaha Majesty 400 or a Helix 250 depending on my mood
Anyone, especially a motorcycle rider, who's honest about daily riding and wants a real convenient, easy and fuss free way of getting around. A scooter is ultimately the final answer. Keep your superbikes for fun.
Probably the truest statement I've read on the net all day.
I'm surprised there is not a bunch of cvt street bikes kinda like snowmobiles or side x sides
Have a forza 350 for commuting, and a 636 for the track and weekend riding. Perfect combo.
The forza is so frugle with fuel, and is very comfortable with great pillion and storage capacity.
100% agree, and yet i 100% still will not buy one
It's the final form. I ascended last year, my 2002 Suzuki GSX600 sport bike doesn't get much love during the week anymore, I ride my 400cc scoot to work, from work, highway cruising to see the sights and nearby scenery, camping, weekends away, it's blissful.
In this episode of Yammie Noob.... A WSBK racer admits to low siding on his morning commute in front of everyone including a well meaning motorcyclist who tells him to get into an MSF course.... the humbling... Also Papa Yam falls in love with scooter life and will be doing an ongoing segment called "Papa Yam's Scoot Scoot Review" (working title).
When I was stationed in Japan I would see scooter crews with younger riders all the time. Nearly all the younger Japanese guys I saw with females were on scooters, get the scooter get the cooter.
scooter cooter is the best
Are you 12?
@@DiddleDangle as a cooter with a scooter, can confirm. It pulls the d. Lololol
"It crashed good, I was pumped". Never expected to hear those words in that order.
Trust me, that's how racers and track guys think. We're hyped when we crash and it does well lmao
A true test of durability!
I'm picking up a Honda ADV 150 tomorrow and can't wait! So glad people are finally getting on the scooter train here in the US, it's been a long dang time coming. I don't care if you're a Harley dude, squid bro or a scoot scoot lover, it's all about being on two wheels!
Oh man! That's a sweet lookin lil scoot! Congratulations and enjoy. Love my Burgman 650 more than my ZX10R. Scoot life or die.
@@schigara Thanks man! I'm hoping to start doing some motovloggin now that I actually have a bike again.
I have two of them... They're great. I keep hoping Honda will bring the ADV350 to the US.
It has a lot of storage and it's economical, got myself the adv 160 and it has been a great daily driver.
Scooters have been greatly underappreciated for a long time but ppl are coming around to them. They are incredible. Lotta power and speed
Nah I can't handle the look of them
Garrett is such a chill humble guy. Love the energy between you guys on the road haha
I always thought scooters were lame but last year a 2006 Aprilia Scarabeo 500 showed up on marketplace for $100, non running. I immediately bought it. I had it running 15 minutes after getting it home and I've put thousands of miles on it since then. I love it.
Just bought a Honda Forza 350. I was in Paris in January and in Rome in May. And I saw these big scooters everywhere and I fell in love with them. There is nothing better! These guys know why.
I have a Forza 300. I ride it every day on the motorway. I cannot stress how smooth, convenient and fast it is. When I go with 70 Miles per hour in the motorway it goes so quietly and steadily that I am actually impressed. I love it!
What’s the maintenance costs? Tires easily available.? I’m seriously considering a scooter since breaking my leg.
@@bumstead1383 Fuel consumption on mine is 3.7 litres per 100 kilometres, then I have to add little bit of oil every few miles(I would say two small bottles per year, around £35 in total)and the annual service costs around 120 British pounds. A set of tires is about £90 or 100£. Buy one(300cc and more only) and you will not regret it.
I’ve ridden all types of bike (dirt, cruiser, street/sport) and UNDENIABLY scooters are amazingly fun and useful. You’ll end up riding your 150cc more than you’ll ride your 1000cc
For real. Quick trip to the store for tenth time? 😊Cruising around the block one more time.
Pick up a kid from the bus stop? check! Grab helmet and go.
Mailbox! Garbage dumpster! Everywhere! Work, to pick up something you forgot in your off time and everyone sees you pull up on it, ready for fun, and gets all jealous and bombards you with all the wherdyougetit questions on Monday..
Scooters rock, I've got the Yamaha Majesty 400. Handles amazingly well on twisty mountain roads thanks to the low center of gravity.
I love my 2008 ZX10R but most of the time I can be found chillin on my 2006 Suzuki Burgman 650 scoot. Super comfy with plenty of passing power and GPS verified 115mph.
Same here lol. People are so surprised when I take off at the lights or fly past them on the highway on my burgman 650.😅
Same here 😅
Had a motorcycle, sold it bought a Burgman executive 650 , never looked back , use it to work every day 150 miles up and down , super reliable, no chain maintenance issues , one of the best decisions I've ever made .
Scoots are great man. I had sportbikes, supermotos, advs, nakeds, and i used to be one to look down on scoots. Until i got a 250 kymco beater. That thing had a hard life, even at work a semi knocked it over and dragged it so bad that it made deep gauges into the tarmac. But that thing just shrugged it off like a tank, it still runs, never gave me any problems. I do pivot turns and burnouts with it. I had the wife on the back, full shopping under the seat and a fricken LPG gas can sideways on the floorboard, didn't break a sweat and its just a 250. If you live in a dense urban area with massive traffic jams, these things rule for sure.
Wooop woop scooter content! I ride a Yamaha zuma 05. 2 stroke 2 smoke. Pimped out to about 12horsepower
Big touring scooter are extremely popular here in Taiwan, stuff like Honda Forza 350 or 750, Yamaha T Max, Suzuki Bergman or kymco AK550, most people here have a small scooter, so switching from a 125cc to a big scooter are just nature progression for many
So people don't view scooter as un-cool
And rider often have a big bike for fun and scooter for daily, the convenient factor is unmatched
My little GSR-125 scooter have 79800 km on the clock and I love every second of it
I love Scoots! Have two heavily modded honda spree's from the 80s and they are just too much fun.
Gotta say, try to get a Vespa GTS300 for a give away. Or just to have a nice scoot in the stable
I’ll admit big scooters always give me a little rooter and it makes me happy 😊
Bought my first bike ever a year ago and picked a Burgman 400 scooter as my beginner ride. Have been riding daily for the last year and it has been an awesome bike to learn on. More storage under the seat then you would expect makes it a great grocery getter, too.
Hey! I have one of these! Love it. I have some ankle issues that make gear shifting on a bike very painful, so a scooter is the way for me. I bought a c400x because I liked the bluetooth GPS integration - I live in an unfamiliar city and it's very useful here. It's my daily ride to and from work and gets me there and back very comfortably. The heated grips and seat are very nice to have on winter mornings!
Make sure you do reviews of scooters for their carrying capacity and how each model handles a weeks worth of shop inventory on the back while carrying your family on your lap / handlebars.
Thanks again awesome videos! Yammie Noob I own a 2007 Piaggio mp3 250ie and I restoration make it more save on the roads today! 💯💯
Awesome collaboration! Really enjoyed it.
That army green colour is totally sick. Love it.
While vacationing in May in Italy rented a Vespa. So much fun. Came home and bought a 2010 GTS 300. My GS 1200 is very jealous 😂
After they changed the brake calipers on mine, my break leavers were spongey too...! They bleed the breaks several times, and eventually the were all right!
I was told there is one part of the brake system where the front brake line is separated into two to reach both front calipers. This is where air can be trapped causing the spongyness. It takes patience, and steer angles, and some pumping, but you can restore the brakes to be proper feel!
If anyone used to ridig ”a real bike” is considering a scooter - go for minimum 300cc. The ability to do highway speed is a clue it has enough power to be fun!
I bought this to my wife and she loves it! It is really fun to takt it out for a spin!
😎
I'd love to see a Yam review of the Piaggio BV400, they are an absolute blast and they ANNIHILATE off the line.
I love this vlog. Thats it, im getting a scooter when im in the US. Planning to get the Xmax. 😊
I wish we had a better selection of scooters here in the US.
I love scooters I have a lil 2015 wolf rx-50 that I’ve done alot of stuff to it’s really fun with the mods I have done with it still being a 50cc it does 50mph
Easily the best story ever told on this channel 😂
Yeah, I loved this one so much
The army green color looks sick, front end look great too. Esp. with the GS style looking headlight cluster.
I have a Honda Silverwing 600 Scooter Does 120 She Moves. Love It!
Owned a Honda X-ADV750 and it was great, so easy to get on and go.
Exactly what i wanted!! Awesome
Feel the Zuma sweet, sweet lovin! I picked up the 22 BWs 125 Zuma for my daily, in town commuter.
Excellent job boys, sounds like a great time was had ! Garret is hilarious cool 😎 scooter rider With a PRO card !
Love that you made this video. I've riden my share of bikes over the years including a Suzuki M109r (my favorite bike) and a Kawasaki Concours 14. I'd like to get another bike, but i'd like something that's easy to ride, doesn't cost too much, has plenty of storage, can handle highway speeds and is comfortable to do miles in. Scooters seem like the perfect bike. If you get a chance check out the Piaggio MP3 500 3 wheelier. I hear that's a pretty good scoot too.
The content I didn’t know I needed
I love my Piaggio BV 400! Thanks for throwing some scoot content. 👍
Bv350 here, thanks to it I don’t even have a need for a car!
@@breadofgodd my dream! That's what I was looking for but happy with the 400. 👍
I hope the Rebel 500 rider sees this
Yup ! ❤ love my C400GT !!
I've got a 2019 BMW C400X (scooter), a 2020 BMW S1000XR, a 2023 Triumph Bobber, and a 2012 Triumph Street Triple R. I'll jump on the scooter every time I need to make a quick trip down the road. But, there are times I'll choose it over the XR for a long ride out into the sticks. It's a great, slow tourer.
Currently, I have a Honda ADV 150. Have it now for two years-ish, got almost 20,000 km on it. I'm getting a new bike this month of July. I'm looking at the Kawasaki Z400 and I'm pretty excited. Riding a scooter is really fun! Don't have to think about shifting gears and all that. Pulling the throttle at maximum, going 100km/h is exhilarating.
Once I get my new bike, I'll give my ADV to my brother for him to use for his commute to school.
I have the BMW C400GT (gran touring) model of this scoot. It's so premium and beautifully comfortably. all the high quality BMW touch points and heated everything. It goes down the road in such a satisfying manner. Feel so connected to the road. Sold my other bikes.
I’ve been waiting for this!!! As someone who owns a Honda Forza 300
I is about time there wis a scooter review. I have rode motorcycles since the early seventies. Toke a break for a few years wanted to get back into riding. At 65 at the time realized that I can’t hand a bike bikes anymore. Kept checking out smaller bikes and somehow ended up with a 2006 Suzuki Burgman 400.very practical and the have been called the SUV’s of the motorcycle world.
It is more relaxing on a scooter. Plus they really are practical.
I bought a Kymco motor scooter. So relaxed to drive. Will look for a XMAX or TMAX after this one. I'm sold, will always have one on the side.
When im driving with friends I always take my motorbike, but through the city or when I go out with my girlfriend the scooter just wins with comfort and practicality.
Would recommend anyone, and they are not that expensive.
I've had all sorts holla at me riding my little Honda ADV160. Fun little machines.
I doordash with a Honda Forza daily. Perfect vehicle for that application 🤘
I bought a 2017 BMW C650GT for my wife as an upgrade so she could hit the freeways with me. Great cruiser!
I wish Honda would come out with a new helix. That would be awesome
Dude I'm so happy you finally reviewed a scooter!!! I own a 2022 Suzuki Burgman 400 and it's the best investment I've made!. I remember in a past video where you said you didn't favor large cc scooters but now you get it 😉🛵💨.
The story about him laying the scooter down is hilarious lmao. That BMW is pretty slick looking. I get the whole slow bike thing being a KLR owner but I'm a nope on the CVT. I genuinely like shifting my own gears.
I'm riding my Suzuki Skywave 250 in Japan and this thing is awesome! Looking like something between a water scooter and a small car 😂 with its heavy ass (219kg) it is not fast but Japan is basically mountains and cities so you can't go fast anyway.
Genuinely think he's a great dude. Fun video, also I see motorscooters being an absolute god send for people who want to ride on two wheels, bigger cc but not full motorcycles.
My 2019 BMW C650 GT brings me joy as my daily rider :)
Oh hell yeah, Burgman 650 owner myself. Fucking love the simplicity of it.
Scootere are amazing here in the Netherlands is used to be every 16 year old boys dream. As soon as you turned 16 you went for your license and got yourself a scooter as your first mode of transport. They still have streetcred here especially the 2stroke 172cc Piaggio bikes. I drive a 172 Piaggio skr 2stroke theyre fun as hell full throttle theyll automatically wheelie.
I’ve daily’d liter bikes, spent some time on a sumo, rode a bagger for 10k or so miles, and even a spirt tourer but you’ll catch me stacking more miles a year on my 1982 Honda passport c70 than any other bike. Scooters or just generally slower low cc machines I think are the most useful and economic form of motorcycle. Not to mention enjoyable to use the entire powerband and end of every gear from every stop to stop
I was looking at the Honda Adv 150 last year to buy. Wanted something bigger so I found a 2012 Honda Silverwing 600. I rode it to work all summer and I like it. It's my first scooter. I'm 55.
BMW scoots are mad expensive but I have nothing against them.
I love scooters. It was a big factor in choosing my current bike, Vitpilen 401.
Oh that's what I want to graduate to if I can! I'm on a 150cc scooter rn and that's my dream bike.
@@tishie42 Cheers Tishie!
Now I need to see yam on a Vespa 300 GTS.
i have a buddy 170i and i like it a lot
I wanted a scooter but the sitting position loads up my back. So I bought a Honda NC 700x DCT and moved the foot brake to the left handlebar like a scooter. Fun as hell to ride in traffic
Aaaa, such a surprise having Garrett! I am huge fan of him. My favorite WSBK rider! He is such a entertainer in the video. Cool guy! 1000 likes!
honda silverwing 400 rider here, i love it and you should atleast test drive a BIG cc maxi scooter like the tmax 560, x-adv 750, silverwing 600. You'll be suprised on the amount of fun you'll have
Yeah but that's a superscooter. :D
I drive a simple Kymco Downtown 350i. Every day, every weather, cold, warm, rain.
I live in Rome and it's the only way to get around the city (and especially park!)
Scooters are super fun around town!
This is rad, I started out on scooters, they hold a special spot in my heart especially in terms of comfort and simplicity. Still prefer my 2023 SV 650, but I can appreciate scooters for sure. I had a kymco super 8 150 I started on, then had a kymco xciting 500 with abs. now that was comfort and storage, and it loved to get up and run. after that was motorcycles from there but sometime I still think about picking up another scoot :)
Can’t beat a good scooter in your stable. Comfort and convenience and minimal maintenance.
I had a Kymco ‘Grand Dink’ 250 in Taiwan a while ago. Didn’t need anything else.
I own a Kymco Xciting 400i and a Yamaha FZ1S. Most "manual" riders dont know what it feels like riding a scooter or they really look down on a scooter rider. I like scooters especially commuting around the city. But of course theres cons to it... like changing headlight bulbs, u need to tear down the whole front fairings just to get to the headlights.
I got one of the only 2023 yamaha xmax it is sooo dope.
Ya I was thinking about getting the honda adv 160
I have a Vespa GTS 300. Best commuting vehicle I have ever owned. I have owned 6 motorcycles, and 3 other scooters. I still own 3 motorcycles…and I ride the vespa 90% of the time. It is perfect for urban traffic and urban freeways. Lane splits like not motorcycle can, and has a comfortable upright seating position that gives me a fantastic field of view, including being able to see over normal passenger vehicles.
Tops out at over 80. And despite the 12 inch wheels it feels stable at 70+ due to its all steel body and low center of gravity.
On surface streets it is better than anything I have ever ridden. It has all the low speed maneuverability of much smaller scooter but much more stability and better wheel sizes for poorly maintained urban streets.
And, unlike my motorcycles…the Vespa actually draws looks and comments from women rather than grandpas.
Yammie you should get your hands on a Yamaha tmax 530 very fun scooter
Yay! Scooter talk!
Remember, “The smaller the cc the bigger the pp!” 😂
cool guys! The Garrett scoot!!
finally, a scooter review in a yammi noob channel!
Grandfather has that same scooter and goes on 4 day trips on it. He also owns an 850gs. I have a street triple but I love my Piaggio BV350.
I have a Burgmann 400 for daily and a z900 for the fun =)
Yayyy more scooters pls
scoots are life here in asia. i appreciate that there are little shifter scoots tho, idk what I'd do without gears.
SBK racers in the house 😮
Keep watching Yammie Noob ✌️
I own one no issues really they work for what they are designed for
You should race a Honda Silver Wing 600 vs a Suzuki Bergman 650 on track.
Been looking at this scooter or either Honda x-adv (which apparently ride more like a motorbike than a scooter if that's even a thing?). That electric BMW too although out of my price range.
Peugeot are bring out a new big one that has some nice design touches.
They all look so practical but with enough fun.
Honda Xadv 750 review will be awesome too!
I agree. The NCX 750 DCT
You gotta do a Yamaha Tmax 500 next. My family has three of them, and they are a blast.
Finally scooters, love scooters
I wish BMW still sold the C400X in USA, it looks so much sleeker than the C400GT they sell here currently
So I did high speed hill bombing on a skateboard for years and honestly scooters are just enough to excite you to be riding in the wind without a huge risk attached.
I love my scooter. My lil Vespa can huck on the freeway ❤
Love it ❤
I love my Chinese 50cc scooter I one day wish to get my license and get something bigger but I'm super happy for now
