Amazing video, you earned a sub! Even though I don't consider myself a beginner anymore, I still remember getting started. It was a tough journey. Of course, things are a lot easier now and I'm super grateful that I didn't give up and stayed patient all the way through. Consistency and hard work (I had to use Famester as well, but I don't regret it honestly) is the key for small channels and always pays off.
Glad to see this change. I had an impersonator that wasn't handled by TH-cam at all, even after speaking with the YPP reps that we monetized channels get access to. He was abusive towards others who followed my channel, and even went around making me look like I was homophobic. I reported him and his impersonating channel countless times, had others report it, and nothing ever happened. The channel is still there, just under a different name. When I say TH-cam didn't do anything, this was after the harassment policies became strict. He was harassing me and my subscribers, as well as impersonating me. It didn't seem to matter at all to them that he was violating their policies, but let him continue to do it.

Last week after losing access to my old email I moved my channel to a new home under a new email and it got taken down for impersonating... myself... I appealed with an explanation and they had it back up in a couple hours so it was fine and I'm glad the algorithm was looking out for me and a human saw pretty quickly I was simply moving homes
After working hard for 6 years, youtube decided to demonitize my channel & flag my content as reused. I just deleted so many videos that i created with countless hours of hardwork. Now im back to zero.. 😑😑😑

TH-cam can also abuse this policy too. I make meme montages / .exe videos. My recent videos were enhancing highlights of a valorant tournament. I was monetized for a week. Just a few days after my recent video got over 15k views, TH-cam said my edits didn't "transform" the clips enough which is bs. I spent days on those edits. Here's the kicker. They still put ads on my work so they are making money off of my videos while I don't. If it was such a bad thing, why even keep the video up? Seem morally wrong imo.
This is hopefully a step toward original content getting more showcase space too. The “pointing upwards at trending topic” format is flooding the landscape and feels like an uphill battle.

I will put some improvements to my editing style to make it more transformative and put some heavy-editing on it. What I'm experiencing is TH-cam falsely limiting multiple of my videos within a 90 day period which has lead to self certification score going low. And every other video being limited due to the terrible automated system. It's been like this for months. No fix. I was told by TH-cam support , to upload 20+ videos over time and it would fix it. It Didn't work. A short video I uploaded of kicking a football around was classed as "not following guidelines" Is anyone else going through this ?!

This is in the right direction. Now change the policy that a music label gets 100% of the ad revenue if there is unintentionally playing a song of them on a radio for 5 seconds in a 30 minutes video that took weeks to make.
This should be a takedown for all those motivation channels and such. Doesn’t take any effort to make those videos and it’s clips of everyone else’s hard work. This is a good change.
Yes, TH-cam talked about how gatekeepers can have faceless TH-cam channels or I think I put that together somehow anyway they’re the ones who leave nasty comments on young burgeoning creators accounts to get some shadow banned. So annoying.

I watched this video yesterday and when I clicked off I saw an advert for Mr Beast. I looked into it and it was a scam, so I reported it. It is the first time I could report an ad and it actually got looked into. I am so happy youtube is making positive changes.

I know what you mean. I do a lot of movie reviews and suggestions. I edit it down to the bare bones, and sometimes I STILL get copyrighted. It's a struggle, for sure. And same with me, I don't do reactions, since I'm a faceless channel... Which makes it twice as hard trying to get stuff on screen without getting copyright claims.

Good to know. I am just starting a new channel for a wiki to upload and organize some contents about games from a company. Good thing I made sure to mark it as a fan channel.
This wont help me but I stopped making tutorials because once they attained popularity my unique techniques that took me a long time to perfect were repackaged by larger channels which led to my tutorials going into oblivion... I feel there is no way to prove who came up with a technique first but after it happened multiple times I felt as a smaller channel i could not compete...

I don't know what it means in TH-cam terms but it means this on Google the action of overcoming a problem or difficulty, typically in a clever and surreptitious way. "circumvention of the rules undermines any fairness"
This is just YT tightening the purse strings.... It appears that the competition externally is getting tough for TH-cam so they're playing catch up with their internal policies. These are things that should have been done a long time ago but have been overlooked. Ok this will be interesting, I run a account that doesn’t have the name “Cab Calloway” on it but my channel is basically a Cab Calloway fan channel. Except, my other friend that makes Cab videos got permission from the Cab Calloway estate and asked if I could have permission too and the estate said yes. The only difference that doesn’t make us a “Fan Channel” Cab Calloway made music in the 30s so with old music comes lost media most of the videos on my channel have never been put on TH-cam before
I hate the new impersonation policy. Like just let them use any channel name or handle. You're making 100k+ abandoned channels with no activity in years into being ruined next month thanks to this.
