these $5 buffets are actually for taxi, bus, and truck drivers. Obviously, not only for them but the idea behind these buffet is for busy drivers to rest up and grab quick and cheap home style meal. For obvious reason, also very popular among university students with limited budget. These kind of buffet/restaurants are called "기사식당" and literal translation is "Driver Restaurant".
I was stationed in South Korea back in 1982 while in the Army and I and I have To admit that that was the best food I have ever tasted I have ever all around the world and experienced many different cruisines However the South Korean cuisine is the best I have ever tasted thank you for the video and bring him back memories
This was posted at an absolute perfect time! I needed a good video to watch while I ate some food and these videos never fail to be absolutely fantastic!
I literally coulda said this exact comment 🤣 just made a breakfast burrito with hot sauce I’ve been a fan of you dumpling if you see this for couple years :) 🎉 always good content and travel blogs
Next time you go to S.K., I'd love to see you do a tasting tour of Daegu. The city itself is gorgeous, nestled in this huge bowl valley, and it has a giant research farm in the northern part of the city, so with the right timing you can get farm-to-table at its absolute freshest. And from what I've seen on TH-cam, the monorail ride on the east side is nice, too.
It was sad to see so many foreigners eating commercialized food on the streets of Myeongdong!! This is a very good video. Apart from this, I recommend Galbitang and Seolleongtang. They do not contain any spicy spices.
As much as I like kpop , I love you soo much cause you show actual good food and not those overhyped influencer meals and idol influenced meals and places
Mikey. It was nice to see you do a video from the past you. I used to love your videos. My kids even got you to wish me a happy birthday. I haven’t been watching your videos as much since you have gotten into the high life stuff. I could relate to you when you ate food like us commoners. I hope this is something that you will gravitate to. I really enjoyed your videos on Thailand eating common street food. Thanks for the memories.
Your taste buds must be in the same shape as mine, if it tastes good it's good and if it looks different then taste it and experience something new. I also love trying new combinations of food, nothing wrong whether it's traditional food or a fusion of flavors. Every time I watch your vids I get hungry, even if I'm not hungry 😀
Oh Mikey you fill my heart with joy because you always bring life and laughter. Please give my very best wishes and love for Mrs C I do miss her beautiful face, however I do understand. Please if you have a chance, go back to Italy or France and show the fantastic array of foods available............Love love love you and all you do xxx
The Place where you got the soup or noodles and veggies, plus the BBQ Meat is my favorite so far. The food deals are great and so much healthier than Mickey Dee's!! 😊
You always have lots of good eats to share from all your travels. I love them all.....and you make your viewers very hungry.....food is everything good. Thanks for all the good eats.....
I think the most popular home-cooked dish that represents Korea is Seoul-style bulgogi. It's thinly sliced beef marinated in sweet soy sauce and cooked with a little broth.
yeah you can tell mikey has lived in the midwest..missoura..i live right across the river from st.louis in the metro east ..where we call it missouri :)
I am a korean. Koreans generally do not eat spicy beef dishes, except for yukgaejang (spicy beef soup). Also, Koreans do not often eat beef with kimchi. And the peppers used in beef bulgogi are non-spicy peppers like sweet bell pepper.
Spam makes me nervous because I've been in a low-salt diet for twenty years due to heart conditions. Regular spam is way too salty, but they do make several products that are reduced salt and perfect for low-salt consumption.
when it comes to communication how do you work it out, I one day also wish to explore the streets of Korea and Tokyo but always believe that not knowing the language could be a mass setback, to having the full experience of the place. So if you have any tips or ways that could be helpful in my quest pls say so, If it is not to much trouble for you
Apparently both my motherr and aunt (second cousin's mom) are turning 50 so now I gotta save up a bunch of money because they wanna get a lot of family and go to South Korea? SO now I gotta pick up my 60 hour work weeks while doing college again lol, but now I know how to save the moneys
I'm a little new to your channel(thanks to Best Ever Food Review Show via Texas Fair?), so I'm not sure if this is already part of your format... But since you love going to - and I love watching - buffets, could you please include the rules, if any? Sometimes I've heard you say there's a 45 minute limit or such. When there is a flat rate for "all you can eat" (even if you have to buy a drink) when will they actually cut you off? I'm just curious about them, because I live these places through you vicariously and can later imagine myself at the same buffet and enjoying similar foods. Just a small suggestion, even tho I know it means more work for you. Thank you so so so much!
It doesn't actually measure time. It means, “Eat as much as you want, but don’t eat all day long.” Even if it takes 50 minutes or an hour, it won't hold you back. I'm a Korean
Army Stew = Fridge Stew = Kitchen Sink Soup😂 depending on what part of the US you are from and if you had a garden or not😅😂 or in my case was homeless or not😅 we did something similar in some of our shelters in Seattle if we had more than a microwave and coffee pot😂
Thank you for showcasing places locals actually eat at instead of the bougie stuff influencers are constantly showing
Fooooook da influencers lol 🤣🤣🤣 i dont watch any of them i watch real food vloggers who travel around the world and trying all kinds of foodz 🤭🤭
From the Missouri here . I live vicariously through you. Please keep it up.

Is it preferred that non-drivers eat elsewhere?
not necessarily drivers anymore. There are many restaurants like that.

When you see the locals do something, you know it's a pro move! Thanks Mikey, always enjoy the content, makes me hungry or watch while eating.
You're making me miss Korea and all the great eats, especially Hansot Dosirak! I lived there 2007-2013. I could go for some chicken mayo, now.
