...loved "this is tom jones" tv show from 69 to 71...the greatest musical artists each week and tom loved singing with them...he always showed each his respect and admiration of their talent...he's unequalled as the best male singer on the planet ❤❤❤
Thanks for uploading this, I'm in stitches! I have always loved the music of all these guys, never dreamed they'd ever appeared together, and in such an unforgettable way at that!
Now THAT was funny! I really miss Jerry and Glen. Fred was talented too. I don't know what ever helped to the janitor with the curly hair. He's probably still sweeping some floors somewhere.
Absolutely great: They remark, "Did anyone tell you had an interesting voice?" Tom Jones replies, completely deadpan: "Only my friend Engelbert, but what does he know?!"
Definitely Fred Willard-his voice is so distinct. Love Tom, Glen, and Jerry-so funny and what a joy to hear each sing! Who is the other guy (not Ray Jones-also funny here). Only my friend Englebert-What does he know? Ha! Thanks for posting!
No, no. I don't think you've actually watched him play. There's a bunch of videos here. Watch this one, "lightning rod" - bad video, but they show him playing this intricate tune. th-cam.com/video/qOGiW-y-Vhs/w-d-xo.html -@@kingbastard8938
@@thehartofthegalexi8433 They are both utterly fantastic guitar players but in that upper tier of greats it's very hard to determine who is the best. Jimmy Bryant, Tommy Emmanuel, Danny Gatton, Wes Montgomery Hank Garland, George Benson, Jimi Hendrix, and many more could be argued over as to who is the greatest. Personally I don't think I've ever seen a better guitar player than Danny Gatton!!!
The guys that are in the sketch with Jones, Campbell, and Reed are Raymond J. Johnson, Fred Willard (later of "Real People" TV series), and possibly David Steinberg. They were the members of the comedy troupe, the Ace Trucking Company.
Thanks x I do have the whole show, but unfortunately some parts are unwatchable. What were you interested in seeing more of? The other sections with Glen and Jerry are already posted by someone else. Or was it Tom you are more interested in?
TV used to be entertaining and funny... Too bad kids born since 1980 don't know that. The talent in that room was phenomenal .... and the reference to Engelbert Humperdinck wasn't wasted... He's still doing concerts and new youtube videos... at 85yrs old!
+Colin Morton Yup it is. Look at This is Tom Jones in imdb, and you'll see he was a regular for 15 episodes. For some reason, it's missing from Fred Willard imdb page.
His real name is Bill Saluga. He was the comic that played that character. Someone would call him "Mister Johnson," and he would go into a 5 minute routine of 'My name is Raymond J Johnson Jr. You can call me Ray and you can call me J, etc etc.

Man oh man, could this possibly be any more fun? Brilliant!
The talent on that stage is phenomenal!

Classic! Thanks for posting this.

The Ace Trucking Co. comedy team (Bill Saluga - aka Raymond J. Johnson - and Fred Willard, George Memmoli, Michael Mislove among others)
Funny Bit with The Ace Trucking Company Fred Willard, Michael Mislove, and Bill Saluga.
This is so funny. Never saw this before.
I think its the guy who played Guido Sarduchi?

Priceless 👌🏾
Glen and Tom.....marvellous "
Jerry reed is the best guitar player ever hands down
Jerry had talent, but you'll think again if you watch a few videos of Glen Campbell cutting loose.
No, no. I don't think you've actually watched him play. There's a bunch of videos here. Watch this one, "lightning rod" - bad video, but they show him playing this intricate tune.

@@brock5678910 nobody in the world was way better than Glen on guitar. But Jerry was one of the greats as well.
I dunno, Glen might be s good as, or better than, Jerry. But Jerry is far more charismatic and a better entertainer.

Elizabeth Laughlin I thought that sounded like Fred Willard.
I don't think it was Steinberg but was probably someone else from Ace.
The Ace Trucking Company members are Fred Willard, Bill Saluga (as character Raymond J. Johnson) and Michael Mislove.
That was a lot of talent in that skit. To bad there are no variety shows now
Brilliant !
The after party must have been a total blast.
You can call me Ray....or you can call me Jay......etc...
Great laugh, wonderful:-))
When Tom picked him up 😂😂😂
Yeah. pretty silly and schlocky, but definitely A FUN TIME with three very great talents !

Great clip...do you have the whole show intact?
Is the fith guy anthony ketus's father blackie lawless?. Anthony ketus's from the chili peppers.
Fred Willard has always been funny
A very young Fred Willard.
Judging by the voice, I would say that isn't john travolta. Travolta has a distinct voice.
Is that Freddie Prinze on the far right?
UH is that Fred Willard ?!?!?!
Funny....
Is that Fred Willard?
+Colin Morton
Yup it is. Look at This is Tom Jones in imdb, and you'll see he was a regular for 15 episodes. For some reason, it's missing from Fred Willard imdb page.

He's hilarious!
Was that short guy famous? the audience seems to know him.
Yes. For a short time. If you search for Raymond J. Johnson Jr. you can see his act. You saw the beginning of his most famous bit here.
Was that Keith Richards?
The babies
Who is the tall, stiff guy in the middle?

LL Foley Mark Lindsey
Who is Ray ?
His real name is Bill Saluga. He was the comic that played that character. Someone would call him "Mister Johnson," and he would go into a 5 minute routine of 'My name is Raymond J Johnson Jr. You can call me Ray and you can call me J, etc etc.
I believe he played Father Guido sarducci on the early SNL days as well 70's
No. Father Guido was Don Novello.
