I have to give a huge huge thanks to you Gaijin Hunter. MH4u Demo was my first experience with the series and someone on a board told me to check your videos to get used to the different weapon properties and styles and general strategies and they've been a huge help while I learn the game.(My bow game needs work, but thanks to you I'm great at Long Sword and Charge Blade!) I've been practicing on 3U on the Wii while waiting for the games release and your video continue to be a huge help =)
If you have both demon and archdemon mode activated, and you mash A and X back and forth repeatedly, you get a fast and powerful, infinite combo, which you can do forever even without any stamina, as long as you keep attacking, because demon mode only stops after your attack.
@@robosergTV I think they mean demon mode only stops after your attack animation. For example, doing the X+A move while having barely any stamina left won't drop you out of demon mode halfway through, so you get the full meter value for the attack. However, it also doesn't start regenerating your stamina early.
your videos are really cool, informative, well done and i love the way you explain everything useful about weapons. I'm a "new" hunter, mh3u being my first MH, and i'm looking forward to use as many weapon types as i can in MH4U, and your tutorials are really going to help me on that. So, many thanks!! :)
***** Yeah, exactly, i used mainly hammers, long swords and dual blades in 3U and all the new moves they got bring more fun to using them again and adjust the style of play!
Little tip/exploit I discovered for all you DS fans in case you didn't know. As if DS wasn't OP enough, the combo at 10:10 can be further exploited in Demon mode. If you go into Demon mode and attempt that same combo, you will do a jumping slash after standing single slash, right before you go back into the spinning slash. The exploit comes into play after you run out of stamina. That's right, you can continue that combo infinitely in Demon mode without ever going back to Archdemon mode. Try it by yourself without fighting a monster. As long as you input the standing single slash after the spinning slash, Demon mode won't end, and you can continue the combo, even with no stamina. Be warned however. Since you won't be able to roll after you stop the combo due to lack of stamina, you will be vulnerable for a few seconds, so make sure you are in a safe spot before you end it. P.S - This of course only applies for those who don't use Mega Juice.
Man, you're awesome. Thanks for your videos, you really made me more confident about my main weapons. I'll be glad if you make some HBG and LBG tutorials.
i know this is an old vid but, one thing you didn't mention was that you can stay in demon mode even when your stamina runs out as long as you keep your combo going. this is very useful for when the monster is down and you need to fill the gauge while you're low on stamina. note that during this combo your stamina will not fill up, so be careful.
Fantastic work Gaijin. Been using DB's since mhfu and it's pretty sweet to see how's it's changed so much since then! Never been a big fan of juicin' up and dancing all day tactics. Only ever used juices on intense bosses such as Lucent Narga and Abyss Lagi and even then I avoided spamming the dance. But regardless, extra moveset and variety makes me love this weapon so much! Keep up the great work!
Oh sweet, no more devil dance spam! Loving the changes and its nice to see razor sharp was brought back. I also heard that DB lost the -30% elemental damage attribute; I'm really looking forward to re-maining DBs in 4U!
i feel in love with the dualblades playing 2ndg my friend who playd mh for a while called me crazy for only using them from the start because i had to be in the monsters face all the time
The Dual Blades are so easy to use (at least in my opinion). And the new Spinning Attack is really awesome. When I first performed it I was just like "What".
I didn't know about drawing INTO demon mode. Thanks for the helpful tip and keep making these high quality videos. Maybe cover some of the more complex monsters?
Is that the Spectral Demolisher I see? was my main DB for 3. Excellent video, I picked up the Goa Magara 3DS LL bundle back in 2013 when MH4 first launched here and this still shows I have more to learn about using DB.
Every time I play a new MH i end up maining a new weapon. This time its the Charge Blade but I admit Dual Blades do have my interest now after watching this. :D
Some cool tips left out is that when you knock a monster down and spam demon mode on it and run out of stamina, you can spinning slash out of it if you have archdemon for no stamina. Also you can cancel the spinning slash before the last attack with demon dodge for a cleaner get a way. In demon mode the a attack fills the bar fastest, so so switch in and cancel half way with a demon dodge for quick bar. Happy Hunting!
The last time I used DB was in MHFU in a fight against Lao Shan Lung. So thanks for the refresher. When using that super combo it looks as if you're ripping the beast to shreds.
Does Demon Mode still give you the damage bonus even while in Archdemon Mode? Just curious if there's any point to going into demon mode while archdemon is active other than refilling the gauge.
Shinkada Lindwyrm I think Demon's mode blade dance is slightly stronger than archdemon's. I usually go into demon mode when I knock down a monster to get a small damage boost with blade dance.
Shinkada Lindwyrm Archdemon generally has more damage, but I found that it's still good to go into Demon Mode mid-combo every now and then for the sake of keeping the gauge up. Also, Demon Mode does have armor on all of it's moves, so that's something that might help a bit but not really anything amazing since you take so much damage and monsters are hard to knockback and stuff. The only big thing is that Demon Mode has a stronger Demon Dance or whatever it's called, but Archdemon's Demon Dance is just so much faster and easier to get out of that I don't even really bother with the Demon Mode Demon Dance unless a monster's down and I need to get the gauge up or something.
I think DB is a great weapon for beginners. Sure it has small attack but due to its speed it can add up very quickly. DB is also very easy to master and is a very fun weapon.
I was never a Demon Dance spammer in 3U. The Archdemon mechanic really did reinvigorate the weapon quite a lot, and I generally preferred the infinite combo over the Demon Dance unless I needed to break a monster part I would otherwise bounce off of.
i call the downward/finisher slam the "gut-puller" or "disemboweler" cause it looks like the hunter stabs the monster and then pulls out to disembowel the monster
Lol dual blades was my starting weapon in mh4u now I have became a pro in all weapons except for the switch axe and the bow and bowguns And yes dual blades are a heck of fun to use
Your videos are the best, but for me you miss something, the combo ^^ I'm a GS Hunter and in "secondary" weapon i'd like to use DS but i dont know wich combos are the best in each mode and what's the "best" mode, archdemon or demon ?
Vitor Albuquerque Something he didn't mention but I'd like to note: Demon Mode will never end mid-combo. So you can go X, X, X, A, X, X, X, A, etc. and you can just keep swinging and attacking in Demon Mode even though you have 0 stamina left. It's not safe to do defensively, but I felt like I'd point that awesome bit of information out because it can be helpful for getting the gauge up. Good luck and happy hunting!
Ok. I think it's time to get back into Dual Blades after using them in Freedom Unite. Seeing all that new stuff makes me want to become a Beyblade of Death.
best thing about dual swords. there's no "right way" outside of getting arch demon up. there's no set combo, there's no "you must use this attack sequence" it's a complete free style weapon. i suppose the same "can" be said for the other weapons but DS is the only one i truly feel that with
My strategy in MH3U with dual blades was to stay in archdemon mode at all times getting devils dance wherever possible and using my SnS skill to stay on the monster.
Gaijin hunter you're a master in MH4U, i'm new to the series and very adicted actually to the game, i'm starting to use Dual Blades and it's awesome, i've just one question What armor are you wearing when you kill the monster in the last part of the video? almost the end of it. What dual blades do you use in the whole video, what monster they came from?
Has no one mentioned that if you use the Demon Dash off a ledge, you go straight into the spinning jump attack that cancels into the diving slash? Kind of important, I abuse that a lot during hunts lol

My favorite and most anticipated games of all times, playing it on ps2 and psp. And now they're stuck on nintendo. Is there any rumors they are coming on other console or perhaps PC?
shamim salim I'm almost positive there won't, as sad as that sounds. As much as I'd kill for seeing a MH game on ps3/4 and vita, unless Sony can offer Capcom more money that Nintendo is doing, and let's face it, Nintendo is making BANK off MH because of the insanely huge install base of the 3ds vs the much more paltry vita. And as we should ALL be aware of by now, Capcom only goes where the money is, as I'm pretty sure they'd think it'd be a waste in costs to make it for another system. I'm pretty sure that's probably one of the many reasons why MH4U isn't on WiiU as well, as fantastic as it would be on it. D: TheMistahJayden has it right, though, as Toukiden is an amazing game in it's own right, and Kiwami, from what my friend has said, fixed a LOT of issues that Age of Demons had, plus it has all the dlc from AoD. There is also Freedom Wars, which isn't nearly as much a MH clone as you'd think, but it still does play on the same formulas, especially when hunting larger creatures. Freedom Wars, though, plays a bit more like God Eater than anything else. If you like MH, then you'll love God Eater as well, though God Eater 2, I don't believe, will have a release outside Japan unless Bandai Namco gets their heads out of their asses. BN can be even worse than Capcom when it comes to games.
i didn't like the demon dance commitment in MH3U because I feel it removed mobility from the weapon. The new spinning slash looks amazing, not only for mobility, but also in the way it can be used to also charge archdemon mode quickly. Very interested in trying DB now :)
So I just discovered that you can stay in Demon Mode(Not Archdemon) indefinitely, with a cost of depleted stamina... Demon Mode -> A -(Only 1 spin)> X+X(Another X optional) -> A -> Rinse and Repeat It's not really something practical, but fun nonetheless. I really don't know where to it's possible to do other than Dah'ren's Fin&Blowhole
gaijin hunter Awesome guide, i never used the DB in 3U because of relying too much on the Demon Dance, I'll try them in 4U when it comes to Europe, anyways, what will be the next guide you will give to us?
Is the only way to do the spinning slash during demon mode is to press A>X? I know it replaces the usual X+A if I'm in archdemon mode but I'm not sure if there's more ways to do it during demon mode.
In the video was written that damage numbers are only for 1 blade, which damage numbers??? The game show never damage numbers. Is the attack Stat only per blade so for example 200 attack mean that 1 blade have 200 attack so that the weapon have 400 attack because 2 blades but the game show 200?
Wait, so natural Razor Sharp is back? Then how come I still need to sharpen twice as much as the other weapons in the demo? Do the Dual Blades have the sharpness of a real life hammer?
Im a player who by no means is a pro. I have a edgemaster set and just started using dual blades. I have found that dual blades are sub par for soloing, because it lacks diversity. And the problem that stamina is so important that without a dash juice you need to balance offensive and defensive use of stamina. Am I just bad? When i play online I often have no problems because aggro is not focused on me. Do you have any thoughts on this Gajinhunter? should I just get better with them, or decide to move to a different wep for soling.
question ... im using dual blades with double element so ... how does double element work ? are they really op or ? do certain buttons make those certain elements or something ?
Question: Since you can draw into the spinning attack while in Archdemon mode, do all the hits work with PunishDraw / CritDraw or just the initial hit?
how did you go straight into spinning slash during the "abusing spinning slash" section, i thought you had to draw/A+X, or A>X to go into the spinning slash?
I have to give a huge huge thanks to you Gaijin Hunter. I was gonna mention the idle left swing, but you left an apparently in there
What are the motion values? How are we supposed to interpret '7+7'? Is there an explanation for this terminology that we're missing?

i didn't like the demon dance commitment in MH3U because I feel it removed mobility from the weapon. The new spinning slash looks amazing, not only for mobility, but also in the way it can be used to also charge archdemon mode quickly. Very interested in trying DB now :)
The spinning move doesn't charge anything, you can only do it in archdemon mode.

In Demon Mode, you need to do it from the A into X combo reset.

Does using the spinning slash trip up other hunters? Or is it safe to use near others?
so does the motion of the blade really affect the damage it does? are the hitboxes THAT good in this game?
Does Archdemon Mode still get the 15% attack damage buff like Demon Mode?
yes it literally said that
ARCHdemon Mode. ARCHdemon Mode.
Heck, he didn't even directly say Demon Mode got the buff either.

Thank you, kindly.
just curious what are some good dual blades to upgrade and work towards?
What about the second bar above the demon gauge? Does it have a purpose?
Are the attacks listed here the same for MH3U? Have a copy of this and getting comfortable before moving to 4.
Is it recommended to stay in demon mode with stamina pots, or switching between demon/archdemon mode?
eat a mega dash juice and stay in demon mode. youll never run out of demon gauge
+Gin Ichimaru That is why it is so popular to make tons of those. Luckily its less hard to get these days.

Is the attack Stat only per blade so for example 200 attack mean that 1 blade have 200 attack so that the weapon have 400 attack because 2 blades but the game show 200?
I can't do the left hand slash for some reason. I wonder why.
Wait, so natural Razor Sharp is back? Then how come I still need to sharpen twice as much as the other weapons in the demo? Do the Dual Blades have the sharpness of a real life hammer?
does elemental damage proc on each blade? Also does status have a chance to proc on each blade?
Im a player who by no means is a pro. I have a edgemaster set and just started using dual blades. I have found that dual blades are sub par for soloing, because it lacks diversity. And the problem that stamina is so important that without a dash juice you need to balance offensive and defensive use of stamina. Am I just bad? When i play online I often have no problems because aggro is not focused on me. Do you have any thoughts on this Gajinhunter? should I just get better with them, or decide to move to a different wep for soling.
Do the attack bonuses stack when you are in arch demon mode then go into demon mode?
Does your damage increase if you're in archdemon mode and demon mode at the same time? (Pressed R and your gauge is filled)
question ... im using dual blades with double element so ... how does double element work ? are they really op or ? do certain buttons make those certain elements or something ?
Wait, how do you do the spinning slash?
For the first A attack, it's horizontal not vertical.
Does the arch demon mode and dm atk buff stack? Also it is okay to be on DM all the time?
Question: Since you can draw into the spinning attack while in Archdemon mode, do all the hits work with PunishDraw / CritDraw or just the initial hit?
how did you go straight into spinning slash during the "abusing spinning slash" section, i thought you had to draw/A+X, or A>X to go into the spinning slash?
ah nvm, just found out that forward X+A is different from idle X+A while in ArchDemon Mode
What's the best DB Armor? Mixed or not mixed im okay with both
So how exactly do you do the spinning slash attack? I didn't really understand what you have to do to make it. If anyone could please explain. Thanks
