My first concert was Metallica in the spring of '92. It was a birthday present from my uncle. They played for over 3 hours. I was 12 years old and it changed my life forever.
Awesome & cool uncle! I was at their final show on the black tour in Miami 1994. They played with "Fight" (aka: Rob Halford), Suicidal Tendencies & Alice in Chains was supposed to be there, but because of Layne's drug problem, they had to dropout. I was so pissed. Love AIC; I never had another chance to see them. Candlebox filled in for them, but I would've preferred White Zombie, Faith No More, Pantera, Ugly Kid Joe... but they were good.
God I envy you! I’ve seen Metallica several times, but my first time seeing them was in 1999 when I was 17. I would’ve killed to see them on this tour or even the Black Album tour.
@jaybird455 I also was at Black months after Moscow. Seattle 92 is a bootleg vid but it shows me head bunting James while screaming in his face towards the end of show during Seek/Destroy. I'm like 2nd or 3rd fr last fan to sing in the mic. I missed the mic. It's on YT. 2 hrs 50 some mins in. Good times. Great memories.
@@jaybird455gotta think though, that late 90s Metallica was them in their mid 30s in their prime. James had reinvented himself into a more technical singer and they had some of the coolest shows in that time too. Cunning stunts, S&M, the full cover album live, Woodstock 99. I don’t think the band was tighter than that period tbh, it’s just the raw energy that made those late 80s and early 90s shows so amazing.
This whole concert is nothing but pure F’n ENERGY! My all time fav concert! Now this is the METALLICA I LOVE!! They were definitely in their prime and top of their game!! You need to do more from this concert. Every song kicks ass you can’t go wrong with any song from this concert.
I got goosebumps watching you get goosebumps and thinking about the goosebumps I got seeing this for the first time. Live Metallica is just something else man
I turned 50 a couple of weeks ago,and this was literally THE album that made my mind up… metal is the best genre ever! I love all the classic rock and some of the current radio stuff, but this right here is straight up gold.
I was on my first Metallica concert almost a month ago in vienna. Ive been listening to them for about 3 years now and im 20. Well i was in the front row on the fence and they played one and puppets 3 meters away from me and kirk played both of those solos right in my face. Definately one of the best experiences in my life. Also i caught kirk's guitar pick and ive been staring at it for weeks now lol.
Fade to Black in Moscow 1991. Trust me. The final 2 minutes are magic. Feedback between the band and the crowd are something else. You'll see what I mean.
I was at this show. I was on the left side up against the barrier in front of Jason. It was one of the best concerts I've been to. The opening of the video showing The Seattle Center Coliseum still gets me pumped up.
I had this show on tape and wore it out. The quality of recording and overall aggression of this show is one of their best. I saw them twice that year!! March and July. The strobes during One were insane!
@@mariannetuite7411 facts. Anyone who has watched James and Kirk talk about this on the MTV Icon Metallica can attest to that. They have extreme regret over the way they treated Jason.
Seen Metallica 1986 Master of Puppets tour with Cliff Burton and Justice for All tour 1988 AWESOME!!! You MUST see them live, no question! The adrenaline is unreal and their music will literally pound through your entire body. Seeing them live is a must for anyone who enjoys their music.
This was the song that made me a fan. I was an old-school rock and hair-metal fan and didn't have much use for the "new" thrash bands. This song opened the door for me to a whole new world of music
Since one of ur fav is For Whom The Bell Tolls, you SHOULD react to Blackened and For Whom The Bell Tolls from Seattle'89, man the transition gonna blow your f mind.
In case you're not completely sure that old , live, Metallica was an unbelievable experience. It was. I had to wait about six moths after this performance to see them, but same tour, same show, same mind fucking blown. I couldn't hear properly after that, either. HAHA
Dude. I was there. It was even more insane than it looks and sounds. I have so much I'd love to tell you about this show. Pure insanity. A buddy of mine was a roadie for them at this show and for a while after. The fire Marshall deemed us an unsafe crowd even before Metallica took the stage and wasnt going to let Metallica play.... So much I'd love to talk to you about. This isnt their biggest show by a long shot. This concert video is arguably one of the best live metal shows captured on film. Not as arguable, this was Metallica at their peak. I've seen them a dozen times and they've never had a bad show. But this one right here....... They were SO on point. SO electric. It was a barely controlled riot, start to finish.
One is an absolute masterpiece. I’ve been lucky enough to see Metallica a few times over the years and this has always been a highlight of the shows. If you get the opportunity, you MUST go and see them.
This is their best concert ever in my opinion, recorded wise. So I suggest you listen to the studio version and then watch the live of every song in Seattle lol
I had the oportunity to Go to 6 metallica's concerts, 2 in US e 4 in Brazil. They are awesome, abs their song is the highest I ever heard in My life. Rgds from Brazil bro
I first heard One in 1989 when I was 16. This song was the gateway to ALL music for me. It just opened my mind to an appreciation of music and lyrics I hadn’t paid attention to before and encouraged me to explore so many different genres.
Love this concert! The whole is show is amazing. The energy is next level!! I’m here for the live versions ( but lemme be honest I’m here either way). Loved your genuine reaction and seeing your growth!
I went to this concert but in Los Angeles. One was one of their curtain call songs. It was amazing!! Ive senn them live 7 times. Nobody is better live!!!
I was there for that ‘Monsters of Rock’ concert in the Seattle Kingdome! I’ll never forget how mesmerized we were hearing this. ‘And Justice for All’ had just dropped and this is one of the first times that they played this live. Astounding!!! You rock btw 🤙
You sould see the whole show 😀 My first Metallica concert was June 1984 ....I was 20 years young....when I 'm out of energy , I put Metallica on my headphone , and within 30 minutes I have my energy back.... that is what metallica is doing to me.....they give me energy....
I love to watch when you check out a Metallica video. You always smile from ear to ear like I used to do when I would buy that new Metallica album or see them live. I really miss the days when music still mattered to people.
Watching this reaction AGAIN😂......And wishing I could grab ya-jump in a time machine see the show and come back......WAS F'N AMAZING, EARS STILL HURT, LOUDEST CONCERT EVER!!!!!!
I've only seen them live 16 or so times but have been blown away each time!🤘 Meeting Jaymz and Jason was a highlight as I won a backstage pass in a lottery.😁
I've been to a few Metallica concerts most recent one was in Los Angeles in 2008 with Serg Tankian of SOAD opening and they were amazing. I was 50 yrs old and went with my 27 yr old son. Good times! ❤ 🙌🏽🤟🏽
Man this gig. Watched it on VHS round a mates house on repeat for YEARS (Live shit, binge and purge), post pub, toking viewing 😎. Mexico was awesome too. Awesome work as always Molly 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I've had my issues with Metallica over recent years, fallen way out of love with them...but this concert is undeniably the peak of heavy metal and one of the greatest live gigs ever recorded of ANY genre. Even Lar's drumming, which is patchy throughout their career - this song in particular is up there with the greatest live metal drumming. The snare is so tight, the timing perfect. Just an incredible, inspiring performance. At that moment they were the greatest band on earth.
No Life Till Leather which was one of their early demos was recorded when they were like 16 or 17, or some of them were. Hearing baby James was wild the first time I tracked that one down. All time favorite song is Sanitarium. My friend came over with that album and when that song came on it just grabbed me, and I still love it. The "sanitarium, leave me be" was so raw, and something about it really spoke to 11 year old me.
I saw them 10 days ago in Copenhagen And there isn't a favourite MetallicA song, only the appropriate one(s) for that exact moment, mental state, mood, vibe

This concert alone cemented them in the position they’re in today. The greatest metal band to exist
This one and Moscow
@@JdwdoggI def prefer this show. Moscow was a pretty short set list. But you’re right, it was absolutely epic with that crowd!
One show I wish was pro shot was Toronto, December 1986. 🤘 I feel bad for any band that followed them on stage back then.
@@codyhopp7490 agreed, that show was even better than seattle 89
Well this whole tour and the video of this one did. Yes
This whole show is a must watch, imo. Spectacular
Been saying this since i first saw this DVD back in 1993 from Live shit binge and purge... the Greatest. and yes mollyboy you need to own this DVD.
