This concert alone cemented them in the position they’re in today. The greatest metal band to exist
This one and Moscow
@@JdwdoggI def prefer this show. Moscow was a pretty short set list. But you’re right, it was absolutely epic with that crowd!
One show I wish was pro shot was Toronto, December 1986. 🤘 I feel bad for any band that followed them on stage back then.
@@codyhopp7490 agreed, that show was even better than seattle 89
Well this whole tour and the video of this one did. Yes
This whole show is a must watch, imo. Spectacular
Been saying this since i first saw this DVD back in 1993 from Live shit binge and purge... the Greatest. and yes mollyboy you need to own this DVD.
My first concert was Metallica in the spring of '92. It was a birthday present from my uncle. They played for over 3 hours. I was 12 years old and it changed my life forever.
Metallica Toronto 86 is a must watch - the fastest they have ever played live!
I second this!
I third this!
That whole concert is my absolute favorite concert ever. Sooo good from start to finish ❤
Peak Metallica right here
I was at this concert. Great times to be a teen.
God I envy you! I’ve seen Metallica several times, but my first time seeing them was in 1999 when I was 17. I would’ve killed to see them on this tour or even the Black Album tour.
@jaybird455 I also was at Black months after Moscow. Seattle 92 is a bootleg vid but it shows me head bunting James while screaming in his face towards the end of show during Seek/Destroy. I'm like 2nd or 3rd fr last fan to sing in the mic. I missed the mic. It's on YT. 2 hrs 50 some mins in. Good times. Great memories.
@@jaybird455gotta think though, that late 90s Metallica was them in their mid 30s in their prime. James had reinvented himself into a more technical singer and they had some of the coolest shows in that time too. Cunning stunts, S&M, the full cover album live, Woodstock 99. I don’t think the band was tighter than that period tbh, it’s just the raw energy that made those late 80s and early 90s shows so amazing.
I was at that show also. Still one of the best shows I've seen live. Watching the video brings back some good memories.
Fade to Black in Moscow 1991. Trust me. The final 2 minutes are magic. Feedback between the band and the crowd are something else. You'll see what I mean.
never regret Metallica I grew up with them and seen the live. Best time of my life
Battery live 1989!!!!!!
100%
Yesss, 100000%
Im gonna see them live in August for my birthday. My brother bought us tickets and its the greatest gift anyone has ever gotten me. Can't wait
Enjoy the show, remember everything you can, experience of a lifetime.
Saw them in august last year man have fun!
I turned 50 a couple of weeks ago,and this was literally THE album that made my mind up… metal is the best genre ever! I love all the classic rock and some of the current radio stuff, but this right here is straight up gold.
I got goosebumps watching you get goosebumps and thinking about the goosebumps I got seeing this for the first time. Live Metallica is just something else man
Battery from this same concert is awesome
I was on my first Metallica concert almost a month ago in vienna.
Ive been listening to them for about 3 years now and im 20.
Well i was in the front row on the fence and they played one and puppets 3 meters away from me and kirk played both of those solos right in my face. Definately one of the best experiences in my life.
Also i caught kirk's guitar pick and ive been staring at it for weeks now lol.
This whole concert is nothing but pure F’n ENERGY! My all time fav concert! Now this is the METALLICA I LOVE!! They were definitely in their prime and top of their game!! You need to do more from this concert. Every song kicks ass you can’t go wrong with any song from this concert.
was present ☠️
I'm in total envy of you man, must of been epic.
Holy F!%k!
I was there also
U lucky bastard bro ❤
I weren't even born haha
It’s always nice to see Jason. He’s a far better bassist than he was ever really allowed to be in Metallica
lol
?
They’ve all spoken about how hard they were on him because of their grief for Cliff
@@mariannetuite7411 facts. Anyone who has watched James and Kirk talk about this on the MTV Icon Metallica can attest to that. They have extreme regret over the way they treated Jason.
#NewsteadStillMatters 🖤
You are correct. This concert live was an unbelievable night .
fade to black live in seattle 89, same concert, freaking insane man
I was at that show! EPIC
Dude, I love your channel, your enthusiasm and you bringing the classics to a whole new audience ❤
In case you're not completely sure that old , live, Metallica was an unbelievable experience. It was.
I had to wait about six moths after this performance to see them, but same tour, same show, same mind fucking blown. I couldn't hear properly after that, either. HAHA
Favourite lives I recommend ! are:
Disposable Heroes - mexico city
The Day that Never Comes - Nimes, France
No Leaf Clover - from S & M1
u neet to see the thing that should not be 89
need*
Thats my face when i'm listen to them. Over and over again. Since 20 years ❤
This song is always a privilege to witness live ❤
I saw them on December 5th, 1988 in san diego, california on this And Justice For All tour. That night was one of the greatest times in my life. Those precious 1980's will never be matched again. 🤘🤘
One of my all-time favorite songs by my most favorite band. 🤘😎
This is their best concert ever in my opinion, recorded wise. So I suggest you listen to the studio version and then watch the live of every song in Seattle lol
I was lucky enough to see this concert in 89 in the USA. Cleveland Oh. 🔥🔥
I really believe, you need to react to the whole concert. It is the best.
Mollyyyyyy the whole concert is incredible sanitarium and fade to black are just stunning on it
Mind blowing performance. 1 Of the best ever Metalica songs and live performance. Simply brilliant!
Fuck yeah been waiting for this concert
FINALLY Metallica!!! I've missed your Metallica! Please do Load era and S&M!!
You should hear "Master of Puppets" from this same show. Blow you away!
I had this show on tape and wore it out. The quality of recording and overall aggression of this show is one of their best. I saw them twice that year!! March and July. The strobes during One were insane!
I love your reaction Mollyboy, you realy enjoy the music, thank you! ❤️ 🎶 🌟 💚 🇸🇪
Leper Messiah is definitely in my top 10 to 12 songs by them. Nice underrated choice.
Sept 86 was my 1st Metallica gig.
Excellent channel, love your enthusiasm.
I could tell you where excited to watch this 🤘🤘🤘
I was at this show. I was on the left side up against the barrier in front of Jason. It was one of the best concerts I've been to. The opening of the video showing The Seattle Center Coliseum still gets me pumped up.
This concert was one of the best Ive ever been too. You should watch A year and half in the life of metallica so good
I saw them on this tour when they came to NYC.
Love this concert! The whole is show is amazing. The energy is next level!! I’m here for the live versions ( but lemme be honest I’m here either way). Loved your genuine reaction and seeing your growth!
This was the song that made me a fan. I was an old-school rock and hair-metal fan and didn't have much use for the "new" thrash bands. This song opened the door for me to a whole new world of music
Epic Concert
I was 15 years old watching this live tour in Newport,Wales still my favourite memory of growing up 🖤🤘🤘
My absolute favorite!
I love to watch when you check out a Metallica video. You always smile from ear to ear like I used to do when I would buy that new Metallica album or see them live. I really miss the days when music still mattered to people.
I saw Metallica in 1991 in Kalamazoo Michigan. Best concert I’ve ever been to
I saw them 3 times Master of puppets, And Justice for all and the black Lp. All 3 times they kicked my ass. Freaking love the older performances. Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out ✌️ ☮️
I’ve seen Metallica several times, but I never got to experience this Metallica. My first time seeing them was in 1999 when I was 17. I would’ve killed to see any of those tours you mentioned!
@@jaybird455 They were all fire shows 🔥
That was an amazing performance!!!❤❤
You can’t go wrong with ANY song from Seattle 89 concert!!!! Jason’s bass solo needs to be heard!!!
Goosebumps in my legs, brother! One of the goat bands!
Love how open you are bro to great music Metallica are boss
Awesome reaction bro. Fantastic work
First few notes = always full body shivers.
I went to this concert but in Los Angeles. One was one of their curtain call songs. It was amazing!! Ive senn them live 7 times. Nobody is better live!!!
I've had my issues with Metallica over recent years, fallen way out of love with them...but this concert is undeniably the peak of heavy metal and one of the greatest live gigs ever recorded of ANY genre. Even Lar's drumming, which is patchy throughout their career - this song in particular is up there with the greatest live metal drumming. The snare is so tight, the timing perfect. Just an incredible, inspiring performance. At that moment they were the greatest band on earth.
Man this gig. Watched it on VHS round a mates house on repeat for YEARS (Live shit, binge and purge), post pub, toking viewing 😎. Mexico was awesome too. Awesome work as always Molly 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I saw them on this tour and couldn’t hear for 3 days after. Saw them again on the black album tour. Incredible live shows!!!
I still remember One from that tour. 1st time seeing them, 1st concert ever!
I was there at the Seattle Coliseum and didn’t know it was being filmed at the time. This was the best concert I’ve ever seen. I’m the one that keeps asking you to play mother love bone lol
Absolute masterpiece right here. 🤘🤘
@mollyboytv you must react to "Battery" from this show. Brutal doesn't begin to describe the energy
I had the oportunity to Go to 6 metallica's concerts, 2 in US e 4 in Brazil. They are awesome, abs their song is the highest I ever heard in My life.
Rgds from Brazil bro
Metallica - no repeat weekend 2 nights of gigs in Madrid just over 2 weeks from now. 🤘🏼
They are still really amazing in concert!! I saw them in 1992 which was amazing and also a few years ago and they still kicked ass and were amazing!!
Whole concert is available on TH-cam!
You make me smile. I love your reactions!! Metallica is great!!!
'The Thing That Should Not Be' also from Seattle '89 show.. It is Epic!
Saws this tour in Halifax, Nova Scotia. One of the best shows I've ever been to.
i was barely 18 and and in high school when I saw this tour in 89'. Lifechanging!
I was fortunate enough to see them 4 times on this tour. Fucking epic....
No Life Till Leather which was one of their early demos was recorded when they were like 16 or 17, or some of them were. Hearing baby James was wild the first time I tracked that one down.
All time favorite song is Sanitarium. My friend came over with that album and when that song came on it just grabbed me, and I still love it. The "sanitarium, leave me be" was so raw, and something about it really spoke to 11 year old me.
The whole concert is a performance you didn't know you had to see, then you see it and it just plain up changes you.
@ 10:30 Kirk's obscene finger gestures during his solo, are epic
You sould see the whole show 😀 My first Metallica concert was June 1984 ....I was 20 years young....when I 'm out of energy , I put Metallica on my headphone , and within 30 minutes I have my energy back.... that is what metallica is doing to me.....they give me energy....
I've been to a few Metallica concerts most recent one was in Los Angeles in 2008 with Serg Tankian of SOAD opening and they were amazing. I was 50 yrs old and went with my 27 yr old son. Good times! ❤ 🙌🏽🤟🏽
They were absolutely amazing in concert
Saw them on this tour in 89...Damaged Justice Tour in Jackson, MS.. The Cult opened for them and they were also really good!!
You have to do blackened and for who. The bell tolls from this concert
I was at this concert. 🤘
Your hitting the sweet spot. I've seen all of these bands live, what a time to be alive!
I've been a bit offline, but yes, this is the gold standard. Saw them in 95 and last year. Still amazing.
Must watch this whole concert...It's AMAZING 👏 🤘
I’ve seen them 3 times. First was 1991. Awesome live bro! Make sure you see them ! They’re amazing live 🎸🤘🏼
I saw this tour in Anchorage, Alaska and Jason's bass solo caused one of the overhead speakers to catch on fire. They had a 40 minute delay while it was removed, and James stepped up to the mic afterwards and said, "Fu*kin' New Kid".
Was at the Portland show on the same weekend. The show was beyond anything I’ve seen before or after. 👊🏽⚡️
I seen them live on this tour on the 4th of July in Clarkston Michigan. Also then twice on MOP tour, opening for Ozzy, and many times after that, and they always kicked ass!!!
Disposable Heroes Mexico 09, Kirk’s solo is off the chart!!
I love this channel! "I put that s*** on everything""
They NEVER disappoint live!
Love love love love!
My absolute favorite Metallica song
My God do they sound mind-blowing
One of the reasons Metallica rose above their peers... Manowar, Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, Anvil, Exciter, Voivod, etc. was that they played live constantly... Metallica was always on the road between 1985 to 1994... and they always brought their A-game in concert. Fans loved the songs... loved the energy... loved the attitude... and appreciated that they were coming to town almost every year.
Most bands did not want to do the roadwork and they lost ground as a result.
Kirk Hammett (lead guitar) recalled that fans who came to their shows became "disciples"... Metallica was the band that captured the metal scene at a peak... Of course, when their self-titled 'black' album in 1991 sold millions upon millions of copies worldwide, it brought in pop fans who weren't necessarily into heavy metal. At the time, critics admitted that the "mainstream came to Metallica".
But as a fan from their first decade, it was disheartening to see Metallica embrace mainstream EXCESS in the 90's... They completely changed their sound from crushing metal to grooving 90's rock... from long manes of hair to short GQ cuts in 1996... If u watch the live performance from the 'Cunning stunts' concert video from 1997, it's clear that Metallica was missing the intensity and desperation that had made them a monolithic metal band... They were missing a step. Ballads were becoming a huge part of their shows and pop fans, who had no idea who their late bassist Cliff Burton was, filled the arenas when they played live.
I went to see Metallica live in 2000 and most of the songs they played that night were newer ones, so that was disappointing... I went again in 2003, despite the album 'St. Anger' being their worst album... Better setlist but missing a step again. I never went to see them in concert again... I had more fun at Slayer and Cannibal Corpse shows that were cheaper!
Lately, Metallica is just not the band they once were... in concert or in the studio... Their live clips nowadays are just not impressive as the older ones from 1985, 1989 or 1992... and the differences are obvious. They're getting old, I guess...
🔥🤘🏽🔥
1996 and 2018 i saw them. The biggest reason I started playing guitar in 1994. And again In 2022 after my Moms passing.
One of the best tracks ive ever witnessed live, from anyone!
My favorite Metallica song 🤘🏻
I'm seeing them tomorrow :)))
