I don't think people realize how much work goes into a short video like this. I've been watching you for years. You move so fast oh, it's like you have three cameraman. Thanks again.

    Had a firearms instructor (I use the term mostly in jest) who claimed "real cops" used steel pistols, and not "combat tupperware". We were all armed with the excellent G22 ( with mostly G26 as backup/secondary). Well, dude named Don Roche came out to our office for a week of pistol shooting. Don was a retired Marine, and at one point was director of small arms training for all MCIO's (military criminal investigative organizations). Don was a stud, he could drive, run, fight, shoot, etc. Well, we shot 6000 to 6500 rounds per person during that week. Speed drills, support hand, one hand, precision, speed, etc...... Poor old Al with his stainless S&W .45, all 57 ounces and 7 round magazines ( I don't know how much it weighed, but it looked like a boat anchor). Could not keep up with the "tupperware boys", and failed the course. Guess who had a brace of G22's several weeks later. Absolutely the Volkswagen of pistols in terms of reliability, simplicity, durability, repair-ability, affordability, practical accuracy etc.... Nice Vid.

    • @chrishoesel
      @chrishoesel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Once you know the fundamentals, you have to just go and shoot. A LOT. And lots of dry-fire practice. Wish I could, and wish I had a range nearby that lets me shoot dynamically like this. No public land in Texas, and every single range here has a 1 shot per second policy, no shooting from a holster, no rapid fire, no timers, no nothing. I guess the only thing left to do is pay up for a class with a trainer, who has access to a range that lets them do this. Basically either own your own 1000 acres where you can do this, or a class. We had access to a range here in Afghanistan where we could "play" but that has been turned over to the Afghans so that option is out. (I work overseas and go home only once a year) I am rusty as fuck.

      Muzzle compensators on pistols tend to induce malfunction, because the barrel has to tilt upward to cycle but the comp pushes down on the muzzle. Either remove the comp or buy higher pressure ammo.

      Not for when there are actual prizes involved but at a local beginner friendly match the instructors are usually cool about it.

      There are different divisions within USPSA that have different gear rules. Some divisions want to let people experiment and develop new ideas to discover what works, others have rules designed to emulate various scenarios like concealed carry. There are also divisions more for fun, like cowboy action where you only use revolvers and lever actions.
