Ultraman is a really great franchise for kids and sci-fi lovers alike! I love watching the ultraman franchise with Ultraman Arc releasing on youtube soon and watching my collection of old ultraman shows on blu-ray! This movie really plays into the strengths of the sappy parts of the franchise gradually through the movie.

Ultraman Max was my introduction to Ultraman. Two years ago I watched Shin Ultraman movie and then the newest Ultraman Blazaar show that came out last year and wrapped earlier this year. Ultraman Rising is an anticipated movie for me because of Shin Ultraman and Ultraman Blazaar.

You should check out Shin Ultraman. Ultraman Rising is a very good and beautiful movie but it's made for a general audience that are not familiar with Ultraman, so I think the natural next step after this is to watch Shin Ultraman. If you don't know, Shin Ultraman is a much more closer adaptation of the original 1966 show and it's made by the same crew as Shin Godzilla.

As Ultra fans since a kid, this movie is fantastic, if you want more i highly recommended watch Ultraman Blazar, it got ENG sub and dub. Also if you want another i recommended Shin Ultraman, i think it in TH-cam for US.
