22:45 Nanotech graduate student here who studied quantum mechanics! They're keeping it rather high-level, but overall yes this makes some sense. Quantum entanglement is a real thing, and the idea that Janet and Scott were connected like a phone call through quantum entanglement is sort of legit. The thing they're exaggerating here is the connection being influential enough that Janet could just take over Scott's body for a short while. Even if we say 'Janet could take over like that because of her newfound powers/abilities' it would have to mean that Scott would take over Janet's body too and do or say everything in reverse in Janet's body that Janet was doing in Scott's body, like a mirror. If Janet lifted Scott's left arm, Janet's real body would lower her right arm too and Scott would feel that as though he were in Janet's body. Scott would be seeing the quantum realm in real time from Janet's body and have no control thanks to "Janet's power" to control their quantum entanglement and its effects
Yeah. That's better than how I would have explained it. It's a little real quantum physics, combine with a lot of comic-book physics. I'd say that of all the superheroes (& villains) in the MCU, Antman is the one that violates physics the most. Like when they say he retains his mass - no, he really doesn't. His mass varies wildly = depending on what they need to have happen in the action scene. If he grew to 65 feet, he'd be lighter than Styrofoam and would blow away in the wind. When he shrinks to ant size, he'd still have his full weight, and no ant could possibly lift him. In fact, he'd still squish any ant he tried to sit on. Likewise, he'd probably be bullet-proof, because he'd be denser than the bullet. And that's not even quantum physics - that's just regular physics!
In the comics, Ghost isn't really specified as male or female. He/she is very mysterious and we only get to see Ghost with her/his costume on and don't get to see a face. Obviously for a movie this isn't a good way to portray a character so they just had a casting call of both males and females to see which version they'd like better.
When Bill and Ghost saw the giant ants tearing up the equipment, Bill said "It's _them_." He's referring to Hank, Hope, and Scott, but referencing the 1954 giant radioactive ant monster movie Them!, which Scott, Hope, and Cassie watch at the end.
You know another cool thing about Paul Rudd? He really learned close-up magic to do those card tricks (that's according to Penn of Penn & Teller, who would know).
21:25-21:30 Cristy: "Luis. You told him exactly... You could have lied." Um "Truth Serum", remember? 34:09 "Is his hair dry?" It was in the sealed suit until she opened his helmet. So it was sealed while he was underwater. Yes, his hair id dry.
The Scott Lang version of Ant-Man was my favorite since I was a kid. One reason being we share the same first name. As a child, I thought that was cool to see my name in a comic book.
I was sitting here the whole time you were enjoying everything being so light and cheery feeling bad for you for the mid credit scene. I knew it would hit you hard when you got there. Great reaction!
Here are some facts you should know about Ant-Man and the WASP. Hank gave Bill Foster PYM particles and through experimentation he figured out how to make himself grow Giant so while at Shields emissions they would Goliath. So in civil war Scott new Ant-Man suit is the only suit that could shrink and grow giant.Ava Starr father Elihas Starr in the comic books is the Ant-Man villain called egghead who has no connection to the character of ghost. Ghost in the comics is a man who has no true identity.
I recall around this time that people were calling out for Luis to provide a "story so far" of the entire Marvel movie series in advance of "Endgame". Given that such an undertaking would likely need to be a movie in its own right, I do have to wonder if the joke would eventually wear itself out before the end, but it was a fun notion all the same. ^_^
The thing about Ghost: chronic pain, especially when it can't be managed and/or treated, can easily drive a person to say and do things that wouldn't normally be within their character. It really messes with your mind. Ive lived with diabetic peripheral neuropathy for a long time now. I've experienced being under constant throbbing pain for days at a time when having gaps in getting my pain meds refilled. Narcotic pain meds are under severely strict controls, which sometimes result in such gaps.
What I like is how Ant-Man and the Wasp is just a good fun lighthearted side journey and then in the Post-Credits Scene, they bring you right back to reality.
@@CristyReacts Legit the entire time I first saw this movie, I was all "man, this is fun!! how on hell does it even lead into the whole Thanos situation??" ...and then the mid credits scene happened.
Thanks again for a really fun reaction video. Ant-man and Wasp are a great team. Scott's daughter Cassie is adorable. You get so emotionally invested in the story that it shows in your facial expressions. But that is part of what makes your reaction videos so authentic and worth watching.
The mid credit scene was the best moment of the film. I was literally cheering in the cinema when it happened. As soon as the voices cut out I was yelling "they're dust" and dust indeed they were!
I'm not speaking as an expert, just kind of a science enthusiast. But I think you're right; I don't think Hank's wife would age, because in quantum physics, the laws of regular physics break down at that level...including spacetime. So there would be no space or time. But there are a lot of liberties being taken in these movies.
Quantum physics, btw, is not much like how it is depicted in pop culture (or in pop science). But yeah, it is crazy. And it's one of the reasons why I switched from geophysics to engineering when I was in college (I actually met Richard Feynman, one of the big pioneers of quantum physics -- we had him as a dinner guest, and I just missed having him as a professor in Freshman and Sophomore physics).
22:45, Janet basically entangled their minds on purpose, in order to make Scott a radio or walkie talkie, and they're finding her location by tracking where the signal is coming from.
Cristy, in the comic books, i think Ghost is a man and he is an iron man villain, and in the comic books, Ant man is hank pym and he creates a robot called Ultron

Not a quantum physicist but as best as I understand it quantum entanglement is an effect where quantum particals are synced/connected with one another even when they are presumably any distance away from one another. It's not known how it works but one idea for it's use is that the effect could be used to communicate instantly at great distances. Potentially quantum particals are actually more like quantum fields which cover all of existance so within the quantum field distance and time is meaningless. So theoretically two entangled quantum particals could be milllions of lightyears away from one another and still be in sync instantly with one another.
When something becomes smaller than 10 to the -35 power, it loses the property of locality. That means it exists everywhere at the same time and is in direct connection with everything else that has no locality. That's how they're entangled. Something else that I've never heard anyone else mention is that, since space and time are basically synonymous, something that lacks locality is not only everywhere, it's also everywhen! (Yes, that's a real word.)
Another wonderful reaction, Cristy. Yeah, these movies can really take a toll on people, emotionally speaking, but it’s so worth it to stick through them til the end.
Cristy, first thing, breathe. To answer your Ghost question, the character was a male who dealt in industrial espionage. The coolest character in both movies is Luis. In the comics, Cassie get to help people as a character called Stature. She follows in Scott's footsteps.
So, the movie at the end was the classic "radiation-made-giant-monsters-out-of-regular-animals" THEM!, which is worth watching in it's own right. It's from the 50s, so it's B&W and all the effects are practical, and it's a touch preachy, but only for the time period.

You kept talking about how you liked this movie as a palate cleanser, and it was a nice change of pace from Infinity War, etc. I kept thinking "Hoo, boy, is she in for a surprise!" I was going to point out that Captain Marvel is set in 1995 (some folks seemed confused at first) but a remark left below you've already watched it. Once you publish that, we get Endgame, which is epic in every sense of the word. All I'll say is make sure you have a large box of tissues ready.
Ah, yes, Antman 2... It's not that I don't like them but the Antman Movies have all been released at such awkward moments that every one of them has messed up the pacing of the MCU. Also, don't go looking for logic in Antman. Janet sent the message through Scott, because if she hadn't, there would be no movie. That's as deep as that goes. They throw around words like "Quantum entanglement" so people don't question it too much, but nothing in those movies makes any sense. Even shrinking itself. Antman 1 explains that it works by reducing the space between atoms. Meaning your mass wouldn't change when shrunk and you couldn't go below the size of your collective atoms. Neither of those rules are followed. not even once.
Louis is my favorite side character in the MCU, and the Cloak of Levitation is my fav magical item/weapon…which has nothing to do w/Ant Man & the Wasp but u also said u loved the Cloak😃
Cristy, i like the movie Fantastic Four (2005) they are bringing in more and more of the past marvel movies in these newer movies, so maybe you can watch that soon in case they mention it soon
Cristy , i want to say that quantum physics has to deal with teeny tiny micro sized things, like the stuff inside atoms, atoms make up molecules, which make up matter as we know it, atoms usually have an electron and a a neutron and a proton, ? so what is smaller than an atom or those parts, we get down smaller, and we get quarks , and i forget what else, quarks have different connotations, like up, down, left , right, and strange, ,that last one is weird, so i dont' know if it's called that because it's weird or not, in the tv show, Terminator : the Sarah Connor Chronicles, they have a character that in one episode plays the japanese game of go, she says there are like 13 billion combinations of variance in this one game of go, she says there are only two colored beans in the game, she says, things get strange at the one, two, point
I Felts bad for you because you were so happy with the good, fun vibe after Infinity War, but my heart broke for you when the end credits scene happened. ❤
I never liked Paul Rudd, he's much prettier than me and he never ages. Just kidding, those are some of the things I like about him! What's not to like about Paul Rudd? He also has a great sense of humor on and off camera and he seems so down to earth. I wish I could just hang out with this guy and have some beers.
I hope Ghost was able to stay stable without those particles. I wonder if she got blipped to get past it. Wish there was some closure on what happened to her.
I shouldn't laugh, because I felt exactly the same when I saw it, but I think having that shared experience makes that end scene hilarious. It's so dark out of nowhere.
Great reaction Cristy! Yeah, this was an awesome mostly upbeat movie until the midcredit scene curb stomped your feelings like a teenager beating up a third grader half his age. 😞That hurt. I liked the division of labor on the bad guy side of the coin. Ava/Ghost was not so much a villain as a young woman in constant pain and trying desperately to stay alive after being completely used and abused by -SHIELD- -HYDRA- SHIELDRA. While she was absolutely a terrifying opponent throughout the movie, her motivations were real, human, understandable, and ultimately forgivable. And kudos to Bill Foster for trying to take care of her and trying to keep her from going to unforgivable extremes. As much as he cared for her he had lines that he would not cross and would not allow her to cross, and that made him a hero. I liked the fact that at the end Ava was more than willing to face the judgement she deserved and I liked even more that Bill refused to leave her to stand by herself. A great redemption story ending for both of them. Sonny was just a dangerous buffoon who, while being a technical villain, was hard to take too seriously because he almost came across more like one of the Three Stooges more than a real bad guy. Still, he caused a lot of problems and was the cause of a lot of great and fun scenes, like the car chase through San Fran and the truth serum scene. Luis, who already has his superpower as One Punch Man for laying out anyone with just one hit (back to Peachy during his going away party referred to in the first movie), is probably going to be known by the name Long and Convoluted Story Man for the awesome way he tells stories. I also love the remaining two wombats, Dave and Kurt (Gypsies! in the first movie and BABA YAGA! here) for their contributions for the success of every Scott Lang story. All in all an awesome story and an awesome reaction to it. Now hurry up and get to Endgame! 😛
Thanks for this comment! I love to hear your insight and thoughts on the movie. I didn’t know Luis had any sort of powers haha. Endgame is coming!! It has been watched and suffered through (lol) and it’s now in production with the editor. Stay tuned!
@@CristyReacts Thanks for your message! I appreciate it and you! Hi, Christy At 13k subscribers, I think the odds are low for a quantum physicist watching this video. No big deal, though. A lot of this stuff isn’t possible, or else it would be done in real life. Like all science fiction, they’re skating on the outside of science, using scientific principles to help sell the fiction. :-)
Comics try to link real theories with their in world science. Like the multiverse in comics is a theory in real life just not like it is in the comics. Quantum is honestly just a made up thing for the comics but there are quantum mechanics in reality but it has nothing to do with what they are talking about in the comics. Dealing with the very small yes but the comics are just having fun with with the idea of a world existing in a "quantum realm". In reality the link between very small particles and their behavior is a serious science. Comics just take real theories and make them to be whatever the imagination can be. Time travel is done in fiction all the time. Time travel in reality is theoretical but far different than what we imagine them in fiction.
Buen video como siempre. Que gusto verte continuar el viaje por el MCU. Debes ver y reaccionar a las películas de DC The Batman Aquaman Wonder Woman Por mencionar algunas
With all of the universal movies, you need to walk some all the way to the very very end of the credits, there are hidden scenes at the very end of the credits, leaving app to the next video.
Overnight Delivery- Paul Rudd & a natural hair Reese Witherspoon: a good movie ripped off as the plot of Road Trip(00’s) + A Sure Thing (80’s) mixed together.
So Captain Marvel and then Endgame right? I can't wait for Cristy to see Endgame. I can't talk about any of it without spoiling stuff but I'm glad we're almost there.
I"m definitely not a quantum physicist, but most of what they are talking about is just made up science fiction movie stuff. They are using real quantum physics terms some of the time; like quantum entanglement and quantum tunneling are real things but they don't work the ways they talk about in the movie. Entanglement kind of has to do with how affecting a particle in one place would affect another anywhere in the universe instantly, but i don't know how that would connect to Hope's mom being connected to Scott's brain. So basically some real science words, but not much real science stuff happening.
Tbf it's probably use of entanglement to send electronic signals through technology similar to the ant mind-control. Scott received thoughts in the form of a dream, and had been actively trying to channel her the second time the tunnel activated. It could be akin to dissociative identity introjects, letting his body be controlled by some identity he considers separate from himself, as they receive thoughts from Janet. So yeah, absolutely not science, but science is basically magic, so it might find some theoretical means in a couple centuries.
I read a comment explaining quantum entanglement and it made a lot of sense. However, I’m not sure I can explain it back to y’all hahaha 😂 something about these particles being connected like walkie-talkies even though they’re really far away from each other.
Ok. Now you have to wait ONE WHOLE YEAR after you reacted to Infinity War to watch Endgame! That’s what we had to do…so I’ll be back in 2025 to watch the Endgame reaction.

Even shrinking itself. Antman 1 explains that it works by reducing the space between atoms. Meaning your mass wouldn't change when shrunk and you couldn't go below the size of your collective atoms. Neither of those rules are followed. not even once.
Just when thought it was safe to enjoy a Marvel movie. Bam: dust.
Seriously!! Can’t trust anything anymore
6:07 they are upset with him because he took the suit to Germany to help Captain America in Civil War.
Hi Cristy, this is a superhero & family movie. I like it. Don't forget to react Capt. Marvel (2019) before Avengers EndGame (2019)
7:17 "😳Scotty?"
🤦♂Yeah. That's it. This is what Scott looks like before he's had his _coffee._ That's all.
Marvel: "just in case you forgot where we left off..." And now we're off to Captain Marvel. Can't wait.
I could watch a series of Luis' recapping each of the phases of the MCU
30:55 - I see Cristy has mastered ventriloquism. 👍🏻
Hahaha new channel feature 🤣 we had to do a cut there for copyright issues and it looks like we missed this error.
@@CristyReacts *easter egg. You missed that totally intended easter egg.
Great reaction! All the pieces are coming together! Be sure to see Captain Marvel before Endgame; it helps connect the dots! Enjoy the ride!
27:33 I don't think any other movie that has ever been _made_ has had a car chase like _this_ one.
In the comics Ghost is a man.
I Felts bad for you because you were so happy with the good, fun vibe after Infinity War, but my heart broke for you when the end credits scene happened. ❤
Lied? doesn't sound like you got the gist of truth serum
I never liked Paul Rudd, he's much prettier than me and he never ages. Just kidding, those are some of the things I like about him! What's not to like about Paul Rudd? He also has a great sense of humor on and off camera and he seems so down to earth. I wish I could just hang out with this guy and have some beers.
you are just the best :)
He’s dressed like the Dude!!!!!!!!
Beautiful Cristy, you have the greatest laugh : )
Aw thanks Ben!
🍍 🥓 🍕 30:56 you communicated to us through telepathy!
I hope Ghost was able to stay stable without those particles. I wonder if she got blipped to get past it. Wish there was some closure on what happened to her.
I'm sure that won't be the end of ghost as a character.
38:25 I see a _business_ idea.
I mean, Luis doesn't have any official powers, but he sure as shooting knows how to deliver a maximum result punch. 😀 They should totally make him a suit! 😀
Endgame has now been watched and suffered through? Poor Cristy! Every time I see you tearing up in a review I want to give you a big and friendly comforting hug! 🙂 But at least the MCU ends happily (kinda? Mostly?) with Endgame. More on that once I can watch your reaction! 🙂
Take care and be well!
I hope Luis becomes Ant-Man at some point.
Hi, Christy
At 13k subscribers, I think the odds are low for a quantum physicist watching this video. No big deal, though. A lot of this stuff isn’t possible, or else it would be done in real life. Like all science fiction, they’re skating on the outside of science, using scientific principles to help sell the fiction.
:-)
What are talking about, most (if not all) of my followers are quantum physicists and rocket scientists!!! 😝 lol
@@CristyReacts Of course. Apologies, milady.
38:31 😂😂
Confusion and questions that will be answered in "Endgame"!!! 😊
Yeah CrIsty, it sucks to be on this side of know. But just know that all of us are in a good place! 😄
Level of Sadness 6/5, Hurry up! Captain Marvel and Avenger Endgame, (like Dr.Strange say: we are in the endgame now) ;)
it's coming, it's coming!!! (ps. i watched it already and it's in production with the editors!)
Buen video como siempre.
Que gusto verte continuar el viaje por el MCU.
Debes ver y reaccionar a las películas de DC
The Batman
Aquaman
Wonder Woman
Por mencionar algunas
Si cuando termine con MCU entro a DC!
Sometimes he's GiAnt-Man
Luis needs more movies
Cristy, i wanted a Hot Wheels, toy tie in for this movie, but they didn't make any
Bring me thanos......one more time!
the Postal service is reliable and fast.
doggie feet!
Yesss that’s the order! Next weekend is Captain Marvel!
Christy, when you get to "Infinity War" please make your reaction a two-parter. There's a LOT to unpack there.
Whoops... I meant Emdgame. 😁
🐜
Ok. Now you have to wait ONE WHOLE YEAR after you reacted to Infinity War to watch Endgame! That’s what we had to do…so I’ll be back in 2025 to watch the Endgame reaction.
hahahahah i'll remind you in one year!
You are wrong about no one knowing the scale, it is 1/32 to the 2nd.
3:39 _"Oh!_ I g- I got _lazed!"_
😒 Great. Now he's gonna be all _lazy._
