I loved reading any comic with Bill Foster 'Black Goliath'. He teamed with Hulk, Thor, obviously Antman, Hercules. He was a member of the Champions and The Defenders. Love this film, love this reaction.
I knew I'd enjoy watching your reaction to AM&W (one of my very favorite MCU movies) but watching you work through the ramifications of the ending was more entertaining than I could've hoped for! It's so much fun to see these films through someone else's eyes, especially when they are as smart, articulate, and funny as you. Keep it up!

37:16 To answer your question, yes. The Snap targetted every living thing, from young to old, to alien and microbes and animals. Any sentient living species basicly.
Great reaction to another great (til the credits) Ant-Man movie! When I was a kid, one of my friends and I read the comics his dad and uncle had, which included a few comics with a non-super hero Asian character named Jimmy Woo who was an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and then an FBI agent, so it was a super-secret Easter Egg from the 60s to have Jimmy Woo, FBI agent, being Scott's nanny cop. 😀 I really liked Ava/Ghost as a semi-villain in this, though Sonny Burch was the actual villain/comic relief. Learning how Ghost's every cell is torn asunder and then repaired over and over constantly and that this leaves her in constant pain feeds our sympathy for her character, even if we hate how she's going about trying to get better before she dies. Bill Foster was a great gray area character who really wants to do the best for everyone but there's so much conflict that he feels torn over what he should do to help everyone. But he was solid with the plan to try to make sure that everyone got the help they needed. Also a big thing for Ava was that, even though she could have escaped at the end, she said she wanted to stand up and accept the consequences for the awful things she had done and now regretted. And Bill stood by her. There's probably very little happy in that ending, but it is a hero's choice and not a villain's choice. I'm a fan of redemption arcs though. Freely admitted. That first post-credit scene was awful. Such a kick to the guts. 😞 On towards Endgame and the end of the MCU!
Scott may not have signed the Sokovia Accords, but either way he was involved in the trashing of a whole airport in a foreign country. And I'm pretty sure you don't have to literally sign the Accords in order to be bound them. Either way, 2 years of house arrest followed by probation is honestly a pretty light sentence to be honest.
With so many epic Marvel movies, this one is easily in my top 5, because it is so much fun! The cast is fantastic, and it's so well directed. It's got such a great sense of humor, and so many heartwarming moments. I've been enjoying seeing these again vicariously through you (and Lamby). I can't wait till you get to Endgame! You're in for quite an emotional rollercoaster.
When Thanos half of the population away on Earth he did that throughout the universe and he meant all different forms of life including animals and plants because Groot is not tree. Ant-Man and the WASP movie take place two weeks before avengers Infinity war.
Which begs the question of how many eco systems were thrown so out of balance that caused extinctions of countless lifeforms as a result? Not to mention all the ones that chose not to go on without loved ones they lost. Yet there are people who still take the side of Thanos...
I actually felt a little bad about enjoying this reaction, knowing what was coming in the post-credits. Absolutely loving your reactions! Some things to remember going forward (without spoilers): Jimmy Woo's fascination with the close up magic, and Hawkeye was also under house arrest (which is why he was not in Infinity War). Have fun with Captain Marvel, I think it's a better movie than people give it credit for.
@@BTAColorado Absolutely, sad manchildren cried that she had the "nerve" to go straight to her own film, and wasn't the damsel in distress or side character first. They also moaned about her self-confidence, because apparently Iron Man being confident was cool, but a woman is just "bitchy". And of course, the old "overpowered" excuse. How dare a woman be one of the most powerful people in the universe, eh? It's happening again with the sequel, obviously. _Three_ female leads sent TH-camrs into meltdown! For the record, I'm a 42-year-old guy. But I'm not threatened by strong, confident women. Unlike many YTers.
@@JLRules Project, much? It didn't help that Brie Larson made so many pronouncements that anyone with a negative take on the movie was misogynist. GIRRRRL POWER!!! It's a perfectly valid criticism to say she's over-powered. She's like Superman. She's so powerful the rest of the Avengers become redundant, which is (thematically speaking) boring. DC writers had to invent Kryptonite just to make the character interesting, otherwise each issue would be Superman steps in, defeats the current villain with one of his super powers, end of story. Again. {yawn} There's no vulnerability. I'm a straight guy, and I grew up reading Poul Anderson, Robert Heinlein, and James H. Schmitz, so don't lecture me about strong women characters, mmmkay? Thematically, Larson seemed to be wooden for most of the film. I wonder if it's because she hadn't gotten a handle on the character, and stayed with a Stoic performance. The end of Ms. Marvel was fun, and I look forward to The Marvels movie; there seems to be some humor there.
@@BTAColoradoAre you ignoring all the bigotry of the producers labeling all dissent as misogyny? There was some negative reaction, but the producers were at fault as well. No one wants to be lectured.
I love how the second post credit scene is just bleak with the ant at the end. It just felt heavy, almost relatable since we can sort of identify with the thought of a disaster, but not on the proportions of half the planet just suddenly disappearing. We know how the alert sounds like, we know what death means - even on a large scale, but we don't know how impactful this would be for us. It's relatable to a point that makes us feel unnerved.
Ghost is for sure a tragic villain but only sometimes a sympathetic one. She was willing to spread her suffering if it meant relief for her which is itself selfish and evil but also understandable. Desperation makes people do crazy things.
Yeah, you caught on quick to why no one will think to even try to rescue Scott from the quantum realm. "Scott's missing" "Yeah, along with half the universe".
Hey, there was one factor that you didn't bring up re: Ghost...was Ava snapped out of existence? Because she wasn't in either post-credit scene. EDIT: The ending of this movie hits harder because the movie is so good that it makes you temporarily forget about The Snap.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is a delightful cinematic experience that doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Ant-Man and the Wasp was an excellent film! Since 1987, I've been a huge fan of Dr. Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man, and Janet Van Dyne, the original Wasp. It was in 1993 that I became a fan of Scott Lang, the second Ant-Man. Dr. Henry Jonathan "Hank" Pym is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. He was brought to life by the talented team of penciller Jack Kirby, editor-plotter Stan Lee, and writer Larry Lieber. Pym first appeared in Tales to Astonish #27 in January 1962. Janet van Dyne, also known as The Wasp, is a fictional character that can be found in Marvel Comics. She was brought to life by the creative minds of Stan Lee, Ernie Hart, and Jack Kirby. The character debuted in Tales to Astonish #44 in June 1963. Scott Lang, also known as Ant-Man, is a made-up character that can be found in Marvel Comics. He was brought to life by the creative minds of David Michelinie, Bob Layton, and John Byrne. Scott Lang debuted in The Avengers #181 in March 1979 and later appeared in Marvel Premiere #47 in April 1979. He is the second superhero in the Marvel Universe to take on the Ant-Man persona.
@@reactswithjax I'm guessing you've already seen it by now, but Captain Marvel is horrible. Just about every guy in her life is a bad person. It's kind of like the later part of Barbie where they go to the "real world" and all the men are horrible to women, as opposed to "Barbie Land" where all the Kens are treated like accessories and basically "none people".
8:56-9:00 "If Scott's on house arrest how is he making money?" Makor reason Luis dropped by his place. He's consulting. Remember he's an experienced cat burglar and has a Master's in Electrical Engineering. The plans can be brought to him, he does the planning and design elements, then sends the plans back out the door with Luis. Easy. (Even easier post 2020 when almost _every_ meeting became a conference call or zoom. 24:08-24:12 While time effectively doesn't exist in the quantum realm, in our (well, the MCU) world, things are changing with time, it would be another century from the perspective of Earth before it would be possible again, but then there wouldn't be anyone who knew Janet on Earth left to find and retrieve her. If you assume there's only 1 variable, and it changes every 3650 days (10 years) and goes from 0-9. It needs to be between 1 and 2 that would give a year that it would be in that range, but if they discovered the way to get there and the coordinates when it was at 1.999, there's a very short time before it moves past 2.0 after which it will be about 90-95 years before it comes back around. [this is a simplified explanation, because I don't know what exactly they were going for, nor do I have knowledge of quantum physics/mechanics beyond the scope of "it's very out of my league, and is predominantly not understood well by the greatest scientists of our world] ankle bracelet off and on. Since Hank knows all that anyone could know about the size altering properties of the Pym particle, I would wager it is based on "not changing the bracelet, while changing the size of the wearer." When shrunk, the ankle monitor would be a decent sized room to Scott, likewise the ant would be incredibly tiny to it, so just getting the ant to put a leg before being enlarged. when shrinking the wearer just has to "fall out of contact with it" the tricky part would when growing, getting your leg in the right position that it's not around your thigh (cutting off blood flow and prompting a lot of explanations how it got there) 27:55-27:59 "Can't you just stay tiny?" I'm sure they could, but operating on matchbox car scale, which is 1:64 so for every for every foot of the vehicle in normal size it is only 0.1875 inches, keep in mind this includes the tires, and as you reduce the size of a wheel/tire it has to dramatically increase rotations to cover the same distance. So they would have their existing speed when they shrank, but I would wager they couldn't _maintain_ a speed of more than 5 miles per hour if they stayed that small, and most people can achieve that with a brisk walk. I would presume, on the benign side, those things are coming at the vehicle Hank is in, because it's something new, they want to find out what it is (and on the less benign side possibly determine "can we eat it?"") Question about Ghost/Ava. "can she take other things with her?" Good question, I would say as handled in this movie, no. The suit can move with her because it is designed to work with her cellular/molecular instability. But most things shouldn't be able to make that transition. But her ability to manipulate things in a fully or partially phased state is a thought provoking line of inquiry. 35:07-35:09 It is Infinity War in the MCU. It's one war involving infinite possibilities (Doctor Strange only viewed the possibilities involving them, because they were in the sphere of influence of all the Infinity Stones, if you were questioning why he saw only millions of possibilities) Post credit scene concern... Since the ant playing drums is here, after the snap... What happens when someone forecloses on the house, or the house runs out of food for the ant? Post movie nightmare fuel: What if it wasn't actually Janet that we brought back from the quantum realm, but something from the quantum realm that comprehended enough about Janet from her time there, and in point of fact we have unleashed the next horror from beyond? [Never give a creative mind the opportunity to find a really twisted way to pan out your plot] of course the Thanos snap put that down, by removing the "now Janet"
Truth be told, I love the main MCU lead dads. When Barton was shown to have a family I smiled with joy, and then the next movie after Lang's relationship with Cassie warmed our hearts. There's another one about to come up for Jax that, well, melted every soul in the auditorium.

Useless ant trivia of the day; the ants with the wide open mandibles are named trapjaw ants. Their mandibles are like a bear trap; they snap closed so fast that it's quite literally the fastest single motion in the animal kingdom. If they point their mandibles at the ground and close them, they can launch themselves backwards so fast it looks like they're teleporting. You can find clips of it on TH-cam!
In Marvel you are going to have to get use to the term "villain". In the comics over the years they have moved away from the idea of "good guys and bad guys" and started to show how muddy those terms can be in reality. Good and bad guys are purely on perspective of the viewer.
Especially when so many "bad guys" get so popular they either become "good guys" (Scarlet Witch/Wanda and Rogue of the X-Men) or they get such compelling back stories you start to think maybe they have a point (Magneto in X-Men)... or on rare occasion, they become anti-heroes (Venom from Spiderman)
I had a lot of fun watching this movie when it came out, it was a nice break from Endgame while at the same time tying into it in the end credits. I feel like it should have done way better at the box office. Totally enjoyed re-watching it through your reactions. I like how thorough you are with every scene, it feels like I am seeing these movies from a new fun perspective. Looking forward to go to the next MCU movie countdown to Endgame with you. Cheers.

@@reactswithjax I just realized I made a boo-boo in my first comment. I meant that the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp was a nice break from Infinity War, not a break from Endgame.
Jax, in the comic books, Ghost is an Iron Man villain? if you have watched the 3d cg cartoon, Iron Man : Armored Adventures , i really like that cartoon, and in the comic books, Ant Man created Ultron , so they sort of flipped it in these movies.
When Thano snapped his fingers using the Infinity Stones, he killed half of the universe and half of the human population, Scott was saved from the snap by chance in the quantum realm.
At the time of release, just about everyone hated the final end credits scene, chalking it up to a silly joke. I found it extremely haunting; the blank warning message on the TV, the world in silent disarray, and the ant continuing to play drums only further solidified the horrifying notion that Scott Lang is lost/"replaced" forever. Pretty darn unsettling, but yeah, a tad silly.
I think a lot of people felt that way about the whole movie, that it was too frivolous after the huge implications of Infinity War. That's why it rates pretty low in a lot of people's memories, but actually it's a really fun, highly watchable movie.
@@reactswithjax No, thank you. You frequently catch details I never even noticed, even on a second watch. Werewolf by Night (TV special) 17. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (movie) 18. The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (TV special) This is the whole phase 4 list. Phase 5 is currently ongoing so when the time comes I'll write that list down as well. Have fun and excelsior :D
I do like this move, but one thing that always bothered me is when the lab is thrown around every which way, even assuming the structure itself survives (buildings as a rule don't like being moved around much, they don't even handle a bit of side-to-side movement that well), wouldn't everything inside, all the equipment and such, be smashed worse than if the Hulk had rampaged through it?
What's so endearing about the Ant-Man movie franchise is the focus on family dynamic, specifically the relationships between fathers and their daughters. In this one, there are three sets; Scott & Cassie, Hank & Hope and Bill & Ava. Next up : Captain Marvel! Enjoy 😊
The main reason I like that approach is that it often allows them to fully flesh out the characters. It's the reason why we want to see so many of them together, and then the big crossovers exist mainly for the purpose of making that wish come true.
Jax, Sunny called Hope , "Susan", there is a Susan in Fantastic Four (2005) , can you watch that movie next? i love that movie, it was one of the pre mcu marvel movies , which are becoming more and more referenced in the newer movies you haven't watched yet.

Seems like you are misunderstanding the role of Ava. She is not the villain, or somewhat yes, but no as you think. She wanted to get back and not dying, and she is filled with anger from what she was told and experienced from the consequences of Hank's past. Janet has the powers to heal her yes, the same power Ava was trying to tap into. Now that she got what she wanted, by getting healed, she no longer seeks revenge. You see?
I love the moment they get dusted, you almost forget about infinity war until that moment. Also the ant playing the drums with the tv off air noise creeps me out a little
8:55 "If Scott's under house arrest, how is he making money?" Maybe the same way that 1.2 million people are making money under prison arrest. Usually, the sentencing of a guilty criminal doesn't include provisions for that criminal's ability to earn an income. Luckily for Scott, there are some ways to make money on the internet. Maybe he does movie reaction videos? :) Or, he could try selling his body on Craigslist - I mean, he was People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive in 2021 - I bet his "customers" would be willing to drive to his house...

@8:59 I thought about how Scott could be making money while on house arrest. He could have had a legitimate online business that passed the FBI’s approval.
pretty sure time doesn't exist in the quantum realm, but it does in the regular world. So they had a window at that time for things to align up, which wasn't needed in the quantum realm since that is always ready, but they needed a certain time in the real world. Like saying the earth revolves around the sun and you have to wait until noon. The sun is already ready for that time it just sits there, you have to wait for the earth to move around it until its noon where you are at. The quantum realm is the sun, it's always there and ready.

On towards Endgame and the end of the MCU!
Shoulda got off "scott free"
With so many epic Marvel movies, this one is easily in my top 5, because it is so much fun! The cast is fantastic, and it's so well directed. It's got such a great sense of humor, and so many heartwarming moments. I've been enjoying seeing these again vicariously through you (and Lamby). I can't wait till you get to Endgame! You're in for quite an emotional rollercoaster.
I'm so glad you are enjoying watching these films with me! They have been so much fun. Endgame is going to be epic!! ❤️🎉
@@psychokitty9325Not everyone is wise enough to understand those little things.
@25:21 There’s something so sweet and endearing about the way Cassie says that.
I liked Captain Marvel, it explores story lines we knew a little more deeply and gives us a great hero. I think fandom misogyny gave it a bad rap.
Yes, remember that Scott, Clint, and Sam stayed behind to get arrested in Germany so Cap and Bucky could escape
Your mood swings throughout the film remembering Thanos were hilarious 🤣 Great react 🤗
well then again she's an actress so she acts. Overacts sometimes yes but just take it as it is.
That's a great way to describe it. It was a very unnerving scene.
@@reactswithjax Half of all life in the galaxy ended with a snap. Animals as well I would imagine.
38:25 the question mark is to mess with your head lol.
Try it on the third Antman movie which they made this year. Kathryn Newton was casted to play Cassie now 18 years old.
Just a fun fact: Yes, animals and the like are affected by Thanos' snap. All life in the universe, but it doesn't seem like plant life.
I was wondering about plants.
This was such a fun movie. Loved your reaction as always. Oh yeah the end credits blew me away in the theater. 😯😯
Thank you!! Yeah, this movie was exactly what was needed to lighten the spirits after Infinity War. Then the post credit scene happened...lol
@@reactswithjax There were actual wails of grief in the theatre where I saw this. Followed quickly by a few shouts of "too soon!!"
Scott: “Do you guys just put the word ‘quantum’ in front of everything?”
Kevin Feige: “After phase four we do.”
It´s K.E.V.I.N.
There's quite literally only *ONE* movie in phases five or six with the word "quantum" in them?
8:56-9:00 "If Scott's on house arrest how is he making money?"
Makor reason Luis dropped by his place.
24:08-24:12
While time effectively doesn't exist in the quantum realm, in our (well, the MCU) world, things are changing with time, it would be another century from the perspective of Earth before it would be possible again, but then there wouldn't be anyone who knew Janet on Earth left to find and retrieve her. [this is a simplified explanation, because I don't know what exactly they were going for, nor do I have knowledge of quantum physics/mechanics beyond the scope of "it's very out of my league, and is predominantly not understood well by the greatest scientists of our world]
ankle bracelet off and on. Since Hank knows all that anyone could know about the size altering properties of the Pym particle, I would wager it is based on "not changing the bracelet, while changing the size of the wearer." When shrunk, the ankle monitor would be a decent sized room to Scott, likewise the ant would be incredibly tiny to it, so just getting the ant to put a leg before being enlarged. when shrinking the wearer just has to "fall out of contact with it" the tricky part would when growing, getting your leg in the right position that it's not around your thigh (cutting off blood flow and prompting a lot of explanations how it got there)
27:55-27:59 "Can't you just stay tiny?"
I'm sure they could, but operating on matchbox car scale, which is 1:64 so for every for every foot of the vehicle in normal size it is only 0.1875 inches, keep in mind this includes the tires, and as you reduce the size of a wheel/tire it has to dramatically increase rotations to cover the same distance. So they would have their existing speed when they shrank, but I would wager they couldn't _maintain_ a speed of more than 5 miles per hour if they stayed that small, and most people can achieve that with a brisk walk.
I would presume, on the benign side, those things are coming at the vehicle Hank is in, because it's something new, they want to find out what it is (and on the less benign side possibly determine "can we eat it?"")
Question about Ghost/Ava. "can she take other things with her?"
Good question, I would say as handled in this movie, no. The suit can move with her because it is designed to work with her cellular/molecular instability. But most things shouldn't be able to make that transition. But her ability to manipulate things in a fully or partially phased state is a thought provoking line of inquiry.
35:07-35:09 It is Infinity War in the MCU. It's one war involving infinite possibilities (Doctor Strange only viewed the possibilities involving them, because they were in the sphere of influence of all the Infinity Stones, if you were questioning why he saw only millions of possibilities)
Post credit scene concern...
Jax, i am a toy collector, i was disappointed that they didn't do a crossover toy with Hot Wheels for this movie
that moon shirt is amazing!
Thank goodness Scott and Hope weren't blessed by a full-sized pigeon poop while riding in the miniature car!
Hahahaha! That would have been deadly and smelly.
I never thought about this before, but when Janet went subatomic, she said, "Tell Hope I love her," but she didn't tell Hank she loved him.
Aaaw, poor Hank.
Thanos didn't wiped out half human population. He wiped out half of living things in the entire universe.
So yeah it means animals as well.

Scott Lang is the best Dad in the MCU. No offense with the people who have daddy issues.
Given he’s an ex-con, you can understand why people think “little” of him 🥁😂
Truth be told, I love the main MCU lead dads. When Barton was shown to have a family I smiled with joy, and then the next movie after Lang's relationship with Cassie warmed our hearts. There's another one about to come up for Jax that, well, melted every soul in the auditorium.
The biggest common thread through the whole MCU (at least through Phase 3) seems to be "Daddy issues"!
@@bigdream_dreambig I used to joke when reactors would comment, usually on Tony, but of course there are other examples "Oh he's got daddy issues" that "Daddy issues, is the theme of the MCU".
@@Logan_Baron I agree 100%! The one I noticed most reactors picking up on first was Thor and Loki versus Odin.
Wow! That's really cool. I never knew that.
Now, it’s time for Captain Marvel - the last film before it’s Endgame time.
Love your shirt, and your post credit reaction was perfect! I also freaked out when I first watched this one - right back to the trauma 😊
Thank you so much! Haha, that post credit scene was so brutal.
This was one of the first Stan Lee Cameos we saw in theaters after Stan Lee passed away.
I waited the whole video for your reaction to the ending, lol. It was so worth it! 😂
I know. Don't you feel so evil? :)
Cheers.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this reaction!! This movie was fantastic but I think it got a little overshadowed by the Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame storyline. Captain Marvel here we come!! ❤️🐑
@@reactswithjax I just realized I made a boo-boo in my first comment. I meant that the movie Ant-Man and the Wasp was a nice break from Infinity War, not a break from Endgame.
hahah that dot changing into a question mark was so good XD
Jax, in the comic books, Ghost is an Iron Man villain? if you have watched the 3d cg cartoon, Iron Man : Armored Adventures , i really like that cartoon, and in the comic books, Ant Man created Ultron , so they sort of flipped it in these movies.
When Thano snapped his fingers using the Infinity Stones, he killed half of the universe and half of the human population, Scott was saved from the snap by chance in the quantum realm.
I thought AMATW was meaningless before Endgame, but this heist flick was a good respite after T'Challa and Bucky died.
I loved Jax's " face like a smacked arse " when she was reminded of " The ( Infinity ) War! " :)
In the comics Bill Foster was known as Black Goliath.
Scott gets shook out of the quantum realm by the snap. He doesn’t even know how it happened.
I like this girls reactions. She's a deep thinker and pretty observant.
Thank you so much!

that was exactly what i said too lol.

Yeah, the closure here is a thing.
The Wasp and Ant-Man were both Avengers before Captain America was.
I like how marvel had unique atmosphere to each movie.
The main reason I like that approach is that it often allows them to fully flesh out the characters. It's the reason why we want to see so many of them together, and then the big crossovers exist mainly for the purpose of making that wish come true.

You see?

Usually, the sentencing of a guilty criminal doesn't include provisions for that criminal's ability to earn an income.
Luckily for Scott, there are some ways to make money on the internet.

pretty sure time doesn't exist in the quantum realm, but it does in the regular world.
