These droids looks more stable, have a higher fire rate and have the ability to fly compared to the B1’s, but seem to cruelly lack in durability and efficiency...
@@Dendricklystable episode 1 does show the droid army being effective in its ability to quickly conquer naboo, and later does win the battle with the gungans fairly well, despite the gungan army holding a highly fortified area. the big problem though is the first time we see them they are fighting jedi, a fight they could never be expected to win, and when the jedi beat them it sets the precedent in your mind that they arent intimidating. contrast that with stormtroopers, who we consistently see fail during the original trilogy, but the most important showing of them, the first showing, we see them at their best, getting an overwhelming victory against the rebels on tantive iv where the rebels have the much better position and numbers
@@theradams97 but we see them lose barely in the OT, there was the time in ANH where the gang escapes on the Millennium Falcon, but Tarkin allowed them to escape so it was intentional, in ESB they take over the rebel base at Hoth and were still a threat at Bespin, ROTJ were still kinda threats but they did get beaten by teddy bears
I just don't like the bad writing of having the droids hesistate or not all shoot at once. Like there's so many scenes where they pause shooting when anakins back is turned to them etc. It really makes it hard to think that these clones and anakin are so skilled because the enemies sort of wait their turn to shoot...

That would’ve been a far better way to write that scene. But instead the writers just decided to go with the stupid route and have them take turns firing like it’s an turn based RPG.

B1s have always been light and cheap, but these look downright *flimsy*. Sure, the weight reduction probably made flying easier, but the Confederacy managed to get even B2s to be airborne and fairly manoeuvrable. It seems to me like there’s no good reason at all for these droids to be as paper-thin as they are.
These things were probably designed by one of the other TU subsidiaries to bid against Baktoid for the Separatist battle droid contract. When they lost out, they recycled the design for their own security forces.
The bizarre thing is that they are in the show, but, quoting the wiki, "All four commandos' names (but not their identification numbers) were brought into canon in the episode guide for "Witches of the Mist.""

Why were the natives happy that the clones got most of them killed after bringing a droid army to their homes and saying they can defeat them if they helped?
Its a staple of the show, I forget how many episodes they've done that, and it's ridiculously unrealistic. Most instances in war, natives are not happy to help or happy that they did help after having their home destroyed and their loved ones/friends killed.

These have to be my favorite Separatist Droid in the Star Wars Universe but what do you think would happen if the military or the Government built these things in real life to keep everyone in line and safe even if it wasn’t for our own good

Yeah I just noticed as well that the writing in those scenes is very bad. When anakin has a droid behind and one infront of him, only one of them shoots. Easy fix for this scene: just have them shoot at Anakin but he ducks and then they hit eachother. Would have made much more sense. In 0:57 it's really bad. Like they just stand there, do nothing, or even just walk towards their enemies. They have guns, they can shoot from a distance. So why are they walking closer to their enemies while doing nothing? Those droids have a much dumber AI than a cheap robot vacuum
I gotta say they would be pretty annoying to attack if they were flying and deciding to stay at mid range and fired then retreat like a skirmisher after all they are really thin and not too long for flying things. (Though not impossible after all people do hunt flying birds)

These droids propably wouldn't last long against the elements in a desert or other harsh environments.
I think their lack of durability is pretty good part of their design. Since they can't be that heavy to fly.
Also should note their skinny design, probably would be harder to hit at long distances. Give these guys long range blasters and that's gonna be op
Also their body shapes are not humanoid, making it hard to find weak spots

This highlights one of my many gripes with the Clone Wars TV show: the battle droids are seldom given a chance to feel like an actual enemy.
That's consistent with how they're presented in the prequels. Useless except for in large numbers where they can overwhelm their enemies
