@@gamerdon5491 We did have that episode on Rebels that showed that some super tactical droids avoided the shut down command. Or in the Mandalorian that droids are reporgrammed from combat to service droids
There's nothing i love more than the idea of secluded groups of rebels or just seperatist remnants disobeying and remaining intact and absolutely slaughtering Imperials. Showing that the droid army was and still is one of the most dangerous forces to ever exist
2:30 Seeing some of the B1s and B2s still fighting without limbs (especially IG-100 Magna guards and BXs) and not thinking about it, truly does show how competent and terrifying battle droids can be if taken seriously. In the middle-ground(?) there's a B1 shooting without it's head too. Also love how the seasons gone on (during the holdouts against the Empire), the Battle Droids slowly became more dangerous and more tactical, making them smarter and more of a threat rather than just mere cannon fodder. Still gonna miss these guys, CIS will still be forever my personal favorite factions in the entire franchise.
I get that crosshair is a really good sniper and maybe can even time the deflectors spinning to hit some crazy shots but that last scene was a ten to the tenth power amount of pure luck and plot armor. There was no way he could know what was going on up there enough to hit all the droids.
Tbf the entire imperial side of this episode had plot armor cause there was only a handul of clones versus an entire army of separatist droids and they didnt have the same suppressive programming they had during the clone wars that limited them significantly though there numbers werent as great during the clone wars they still outnumbered the handful of clones overwhelmingly yet so few clones died and all the droids wiped out. Veteran clones or not thats unlikey to occur under these circumstances
Useful but definitely not a definitive better alternative. You needed a lot of funds and factories (for which you needed safe planets) in order produce droids if you want to defeat a technological superior enemy in numbers (that's how the droids could only win), something which the alliance didn't have. They *needed* peoples and systems with full support to rally against a common cause, hence why it's called a rebellion
Yes but the separatist threat of the clone wars was used by Palpatine as propaganda during the time of the empire so the people wouldn't see the rebels as liberators but as a reemergence of a past enemy.
@@thearbiter3351 It wasn't even that. Although that was a significant factor. The Alliance could have retreated to farthest depth's of unexplored space like the First Order and or built factory ships to produce battle droids. More than anything the reason why they didn't use them was the negative PR it would have brought in the civil war. The Empires justification for the expansion of the military was the Separatist Holdouts like on Desix - although as holdouts go this was on the lesser end - and using Separatist units would further fan the flames of that. Plus the CIS committed such grievous atrocities during the war it created stigma against droids as a whole. The Alliance didn't want to be associated with that image.
Especially tech just running around with the mountable Droid poppers. He's a tech specialist. Just don't have him heavily used in combat or have him be the strategist
4:20 I just realized how hilariously "humanized" they made the droids after all these years. Realistically, the command droid would seamlessly transfer orders through some manner of radiowave, but instead they still give orders verbally. Same goes for the tanks; whatever Ai/software currently programmed into the battle droid would be better implemented in the tank itself (you don't even need an interior), but instead the separatists figured the best way was to have a random droid use a touchscreen like a human lol. Using binoculars, touching a non-existence earpiece to talk long-distance, even their general designs, all suboptimal for the sake of mimicking human behaviour
That’s part of the vibe the battle droids have always had…too humanized, to their own detriment. However the more recent shows have turned that up to the nth degree, with them being comically human and imprecise.
Aboard the cis sister ship of the invisible hand when anikain killed the commander droid so the other becomes in charge and gets instant killed 😂 I remember this daily
These battle droids were so funny in the Bad Batch series, especially when they imprisoned the inept governor Grotton and defended Desix. I just wish they would aid the Rebellion, just like General Kalani and his droid army did in the Rebels series.
1:23 I love how battle droids are like that, "Hey, stop that!" Instead of pulling out a blaster. It's so funny, i would love to have an interaction with a real b1. 😂
When you think deeper about the Clone Wars you notice that in fact the Republic wasn't a good side during this conflict. Look what has happened after Galactic Republic has won the war - it reorganized itself into the Galactic Empire with a satisfaction of the senators and even the clone troopers as we could see on Kamino during Emperor Palpatine's speech. The Confederacy fought for freedom and independence from the corrupt regime on Coruscant, just like the Rebel Alliance.

Honestly I think I would've preferred the bad batch series being just them doing ops up to the events of order 66. At least for season 1. Like the first episode of the series actually being the season 1 finale, then carry on from there.
I feel like that ricochet shot on the Tactical Droid was a bit too much plot armor. Because in the amount of time it would have taken to reach the droid, the mirror would've likely fallen.
