      I disagree, showing that emma had two moms shows that america is diverse and not everyone is the same.. and that’s ok. Having a military ad show this will draw in LGBTQ folks, why would they not tap into that? I mean the whole goal of military ads is to make more people enlist. And don’t say “how is an LGBT ad going to draw in non LGBT people?” Because every single one of their other ads does just that. It’s smart of them because whether you like it or not, things have gotten more progressive & “woke” and the military knows this.

    Translation of the Russian ad if you are interested.
    This is the first day of your new life. What happened yesterday doesn't matter. Who you were before doesn't matter to anyone. What matters now is who you will be today.
    What do you know about yourself? What are you capable of? Questions may go unanswered, but can you then sleep peacefully? To know yourself, to know your limits. To hell with the limits! Are you ready to break yourself, to the point of exhaustion, every day? Here pain hardens, scars are a daily occurrence. You're the one who decided to prove something to yourself. The commander is here only so you can see him as the enemy. Because without an enemy there is no combat, and without combat there is no victory.
    But the real enemy is you. Yesterday's you. Your task is to hunt down the enemy. Catch up with him. Surpass him. Become better than him and come back victorious.
    Because tomorrow is the first day of your new life.

    The U.S. one has been controversial here in the U.S. - but the U.S. is all volunteer and is targeting ads at different groups who wouldn't normally consider the military to get a larger number of recruits. It is not hard to find new gung ho recruits. They already know about the military. The U.S. has had ad campaigns just like the Chinese one ("Army Strong") and somewhat like the Russian one ("Be all you can be", "Navy, It’s not Just a Job, It’s an Adventure" and "Army of One"). I don't know how you would consider the current "Navy - Global Force for Good".

    The American ad was very Interesting. It isn’t the ad I generally see on tv, I usually see the ones that play more into the bang bang shoot’em up tough guy theme. But this one is far more telling about the direction of war. Because we are relying less on hand to hand combat and more on technology this ad really targeted that type of person. People who are going to help the military advance technologically. I’m surrounded by Silicon Valley and this ad plays directly in to the type of people all around me. We aren’t going to be motivated by killing other people, but might be motivated for rights and liberties. Don’t think the military isn’t also recruiting those that like the more aggressive side of war. Let’s not forget the ads targeting lower income people with college. The ad in this video is only one of many targeted group ads used to recruit. This country is so diverse you need to target very specifically to attract all the diverse talent the military needs. Our military ain’t as big as it is by accident.

    • @beaujac311
      @beaujac311 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Henry Pacheco:. True. I lot of these comments couldn't wait to say their favorite word "woke". When you have a fully volunteer military you have to appeal to a broad spectrum of potential recruits. The ad here was not meant for a catch all recruitment.

    • @tunctunc50
      @tunctunc50 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@beaujac311 It doesn't talk about life in military at all. She could've said "I decided to become a politican, a police, a doctor, a scientist etc" and the ad would be the exact same. It looks more like a video done for an "equality and inclusion" event/conference by an NGO to show how these people are among our society, than an ad about military done by the state.

    • @tunctunc50
      @tunctunc50 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This ad doesnt target any talent to attract them. It also doesn't talk about military to attract anyone. For an example from Silicon Valley, if i remember correctly about Fb being in SV, If you enter its career page they talk about stuff they do and their effects. Their employees also talks about some values they care/seek and use but it's connected to the work, the vision or the company in general. This ad lacks that.
      What is the vision of the army? What are the works I, someone who should be interested in army by seeing this, will do that require my talent, knowledge? No answer from this ad

    The Chinese one is a 'carbon copy' of the old US recruitment ads. Which is fine . . . It was good. The Russian ad was . . . Russian. The US one is cartoonish in a bad way. And really about anything but service in the military. The story of how you get to the recruiting office really isn't that interesting or motivating. The China one all the way from these 3. Well done China. You do apologize too much Bees. I probably need to be more that way. But you should be a little more 'crusty' like me & 'call them as you see them'. Don't care so much who you offend. You will offend many whether you preface it with an apology or not. LOL!! You might surprise yourself too going into the military. I regret never having gone in. My daughter says it is great . . . In some ways. 😎

    The USA ad stunk! Nothing about it was appealing. If it had been typical of the recruitment ads when I became old enough to enlist, then my 31-year career in the US military would have never occurred. The fact that recruiting for the US military is greatly suffering right now tells me that my reaction to that kind of woke, queer-friendly, pathetic recruitment ad is very common.
