    As someone who bought this keyboard and is totally new to mechanical keyboards, let alone programmable ones, this video's information and demonstrations are invaluable.

    It would be cool if the keyboard went into the vortex mode after a certain period of inactivity and then switched back to your preferred mode after you started typing. Sort of like a screen saver.

    Hey I was able to score a silver limited edition for $70 locally in Seattle. I am just blown away by how awesome it is. I'm still getting used to the form factor though. I happen to navigate a lot with a numpad so it's taking some getting used to.

    Hey. Just got my 2nd Pok3r for xmas. This time it's RGB! :D One tiny issue I have so I will ask here. When I set my profile colours (Let's say I made my modifiers one colour and alpha keys a different colour) once I'm done with the selections if I exit editing mode, the PN LED turns off. And I cannot find a way to keep it on with my chosen colour.
    Is there a way to do this? Thank you in advance.

    On custom modes, can you combined 'individual light fade out' with background lighting? I use my keyboard left handed in combination with a Wacom tablet for 3D modelling and it would be nice to see peripherally where the keys are with a bit of feedback.

    yo, how is the white on rgb?
    i have these side lit keycaps which i haven't been able to use to full potential because all the led facing the other way. but the clear housing will fix that.
    but i most likely would keep it to white, so i want to know how much worse the rgb white is to the white led version.

    Please can they make a wireless poker, not specifically the rgb one because of battery life and such but for a travel board making it wireless makes it even more "travel" orientated in my opinion.

    I really wish there was a dedicated delete key, because when I edit text, I use arrows, backspace and delete, and almost never my mouse, but I cant press delete while I have the arrows enabled. Maybe I can make it work.

    the pn key remains not lit after doing custom key lighting... thats so frustrating to see a blacked out key

  • @StevenKW
    @StevenKW 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems like all these RGB backlit keyboards miss the point of being backlit. The keys need to be lit as their default state so you can see the keys in the dark. All of that fancy stuff needs to be on top of backlit keys.

  • @jgakpp
    @jgakpp 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can you make it so that when you use reactive mode (key lights up when you press it), you have a "passive background light" already? So like, all keys light up red, but when I press the keys they temporarily light up in another/random color. You can with corsair/steelseries RGBs and I really like it, otherwise the effect is kinda useless to me

    Is it possible to do these 2 things?
    1) To have it be so by pressing "Esc" gives you '~' and pressing Fn + "Esc" = "Esc"
    2) If you change the Caps Lock to be Fn, can you have Caps Lock in other key?

    Where can I get the non-backlit model with PBT keycaps for the cheapest? I think I'd like to go with MX Clear switches to reduce the noise as currently my blue switch keyboard is a tad too loud. It's OK with headphones on but it makes me nervous in a silent room.
    Also the keycaps lost a lot of the charm in comparison to the previous version due to the different font and colour. That's a shame.

    Is the link in the description to the MX-Blue version of the keyboard? Amazon has all the MX switch versions except Blue, but they do have one product that's not specified -- the same as is linked in the description. Thank you for the review. I am really tempted to try out a 60% keyboard but I am concerned with some of the functions. I use Adobe products extensively and use shortcuts such as shift+arrows or even things like ctrl+fkeys for custom short cuts. Will these work on the pok3r if you did shift+fn+arrow or ctrl+fn+numbers?

    I would rather have the old Poker 3, with PBT Keycaps they are a much better quality AND have a better looking font.. Evertime i get a rgb backlit keyboard i play with it for 20 min and never use it again.. it just looks cheap, and its not like i need backlight to know where the buttons are... But weather you get the RBG or the older one, they are both amazing

    Agreed would prefer PBT caps but otherwise good looking board. Also prefer the arrow cluster on wasd seems logical one uses their right hand for the fn key and left hand for the arrows why do manufacturers think we live finger gymnastics?? Or just add a dedicated arrow cluster and be done with it hahahah

    How do you feel about spending $140 for a Pok3r to game? I am a journalist so I am very excited to use this for an enhanced typing experience. However, I do also like to game in my free time, and the smaller board size will take up less space on my table so more room for my mouse. Is it a good idea to game on this board, or should I just invest in a less-expensive keyboard?

    • @hab55
      @hab55 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been using pok3r for programming and gaming for more than a year now, and i'll would recommend it 100%. The only thing that can be annoying is the lack of arrowkeys, but you can use those with (fn+(i,j,k,l)) i changed it to (fn+(w,a,s,d)) so it is intuitive and easily reachable.
      This keyboard is a masterpiece and i love it.
      I had the vanilla pok3r, but i had to face a water incident, feelsbad, so i bought the rgb, and i noticed that the PBT keycaps felt better while typing and also sounds better, so i would recommend you to go for the vanilla, or the backlit version.
      Sorry, my english is savage but i think you got it.
      Btw, i don't know if you ever used a mechnical keyboard before, so choose you switches wisely if you did not :)

    • @GoGo98910
      @GoGo98910 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been using a corsair k70 for the past 2 years. I've been hanging out with the mechanical keyboard recently and I figured that it's time for me to get a "real" mechanical keyboard. Furthermore, I am heading off to college soon so a 60% keyboard would be really nice and compact (may need to get used to the no arrow keys though). I was just wondering because I am spending $140 for this, and I don't want my keyboard mashing to damage the board (LOL). I have one final question: did you need to consistently press fn to access the arrow keys, or is there a way to lock the keyboard in fn mode? Thank you so much for the reply! It was very helpful.

    • @hab55
      @hab55 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I changed the fn key to l-ctrl so i can access it with one hand and its really natural ( with wasd as arrowkey), but don't forget that the main feature of this keyboard is that it is fully programmable and there is 4 layers, so basicly if you want a layer where you can access the arrowkey without havin to press fn, you can, ( and you can do much more than that), but you won't be able to use wasd on this layer if you mapped the arrowkeys to these.
      Also, there is an other solution, you could buy a macropad with 6-8 keys and assign 4 of those to arrow keys even tho i think its not necessary since the arrowkeys are not that hard to access if you change your layout as i did (left control = fn / windows key = left control/ and fn = windows key).
      You could also bind the fn key to a mouse button if you need to.
      I hope this is not too messy and that it will help you.

    • @ro0ster648
      @ro0ster648 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would pick the Pok3r or the Ducky TKL RGB, both will have much superior quality compared to the Corsair. Now u just have to ask yourself if you want 60% with programmability or TKL. I also recommend looking into iKBC F87 RGB, iKBC is a subsidiary of Vortex, it comes stock with Vortex's back-lit PBT keycaps.

    Hey, I'm interested in getting this keyboard. I'm not too familiar with the various Cherry switches, though... Of the ones offered, which one is most similar to the buckling spring feel and sound of the Model M?
    As a follow-up, would you recommend this keyboard over the original Pok3r? Seems this one is all-around better, except it uses ABS keycaps instead of PBT keycaps... You mentioned there are PBT keycaps that allow for RGB, can those be swapped in later?

    • @RhinoFeed
      @RhinoFeed  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately there is no Cherry switch that comes near to the Buckling Spring switch in feel. Yes, there are Cherry MX Blues which have a click, or MX Green which have a heavier click, but they still really aren't that close.
      I would pick this one up and add your own PBT keycaps. If you don't really like the RGB lighting, then I would go with the non-backlit model that comes with better keycaps.

    • @drygnfyre
      @drygnfyre 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you want to spend the extra money to look cool?

    As cool as the rgb backlighting is, I would probably just play with it for 15min, and then never bother again. I'm not much of a 'ooo colour lights!' guy.

      that's why there's a non-rgb version

      Seasick I was talking about this one specifically. I already own a white Poker 2 with mx clears and white bl.

      darkholyPL ehm, what? my point still stands, if you're not interested in rgb there's a non-rgb alternative pok3r

      Seasick Sure. But this is not a video about any other version, so why bring it up? That is why I said I had Poker2 already, if you are going to bring irrelevant stuff up, might as well start listing other boards. Clear now?

    Hey Rhinofeed, hoping you could answer this since I was looking into buying the keyboard. Was the keyboard shown at 2:51 the Pok3r RGB with just different key caps? Or was it a different keyboard altogether?

      It's still the Pok3r RGB, just with the Vortex PBT + POM doubleshot key cap set.

      Oh ok, it looks great! DO you have a link to where I could get the keycaps if it's not too much to ask? Thanks for the greats vids!Rhinofeed

      Would you recomend buying the rgb one? I ahve grown quite fond with pok3r with cherry mx clear.
      And can i change the backplate from my older one (i have some stickers i want to save)

      If you already have a non-RGB version, I wouldn't buy a new one just for RGB lighting. If you did, you may be able to change the backplate out from your older one, but you would have to do a lot of desoldering and resoldering of the switches.

    Is there a version or anything similar to this keyboard that has f1 and so on? I'm into gaming but I don't know whether I need f1 or f3

      theres some 60 percent with function row but youll have an easier time find a tkl keyboard (ten keyless which is no numpad). Look up ducky one TKL RBG, same type of rgb
