It is a ton of work and commitment, but I'd put in for a bird of prey, any day of the week

Chandler from chandler's wildlife also has an eagle owl. It's really cool to see how he built his relation with the owl and even trauning him. These are really smart and emotionally active birds.

Love what y’all do. Soon to be an apprentice Falconer. Sanctuary for these dinosaurs is a goal.

Dude that freaking Falcon was GNARLEY! ! ! ! I have never seen a predatory bird attack a flying ball like that before. That was freaking cool.

It is wonderful to hear an expert mention our domestic pets as well, they too need engagement, they need mental and physical challenges, and they need positive reinforcement training, no punishments!!

I love watching birds of pray... we have in the neighborhood lots of falkenries. Belgium. It was a common sport in the old days and it was specific who was allowed wich bird. A king has a Falken. Barns and earls were able to have a bird but not a Falken. That was only for a king. In the castles there were big enclosures and a lot of personal to keep them healthy. And there was one important person in the castle and that was the chief and trainer of the birds. He had a lot to say I n these days.... it's very interesting to read about these things...

I've had a owl fly into the truck window at night once and couldn't find it til we got the mile or so home and it was down by our feet. He was fine just a bit shook up from the lil journey he flew right off. But adorable.
Her crest looked like one of those lil headbands kids wear with ears on it. These birds are all impressive but i do have a love hate relationship with a huge hawk after my lil female Chihuahua. I've chased it away at least a dozen times i keep a eagles eye watch on her.

Can confirm they're not good pets! I did Gull control at a landfill one summer and worked with a falconer. Apart from the facilities, food, equipment for them, they're a handful! Falcons in particular; one buggered off and luckily it was found on top of a condo building. The Harris's Hawks were my favourite though!

I know people have owls as pets I would not recommend it unless you get all the proper licensing and study under a professional falconer, but I know this they have them because they buy sweaters from me off of etsy

I saw a class where a wildlife expert describe an eagle’s strength being hydraulic. So I can imagine when birds of prey get intense it’s probably scary...
