Thanks for the great reaction Abi! Don't worry if there are comments complaining about the pause. To those who write such comments, just reply to them to buy the DVD or Blu-ray or just ignore them. From a Japanese high school student who loves Abi!🦊💖
"Legend MM 20Night" It was Momo's last day in her 20s. Together with 21 Night the next day, the love for Momo and the joy of the audience was overflowing to the highest degree. Of course, I cried out my deepest love right then and there. It was the best crowd ever.
If you want just the other girls singing, well more specifically Yui and Moa check out the Black Babymetal songs Sis Anger, Onedari Diasakusen, GJ and Song 4
The melody played in the beginning and the middle breakdown is an old Japanese folk song called Sakura, Sakura. I put it before Megitsune on my Asian rock/metal playlist as a segue. YOU can still see Babymetal, because YOU are more cool and hip than most American dweebs who don't even know about their upcoming US tour with 18 shows, most of which still have available tickets! I hope YOU go and tell us about it!!!
I remember singing Sakura in 5th grade music class back in the 70s. Me and my friends sang a dirty version in class. Let's just say that we weren't saying Sakura but something in English. Mrs. Schmidt hated us 😂
This song is (and has been) a fan favorite since it came out. Glad you liked it. This song also has a really cool iconic MV . I think you would be impressed by "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" from the Sonisphere festival in UK 2014. Love the content, keep having fun.
Always a good start to my day to wake up to an Abimetal Reaction XD This was a GREAT performance right?! The PIA arena series is always an amazing experience whether you're there live or seeing the recording :) And LMAO@ a the "Was that a little crack in her voice, I thought she wasn't human!" line you threw in there, haha! Su's vocals are perfect so often that the tiniest cracks and fluctuations feel kind of special to catch in her performances. And as someone who performed in a punk band for over a decade, I have a special place in my heart for the fragile moments shining through in Su's otherwise clean vocals. Honestly I feel like those vocal alliterations always occur when she's putting her guard down and in the moment, which in itself are special. The human voice is so versatile, and the crazy shit humans who have mastered it can get it to do is WILD. lol. Also as to your question, I think it was like 45 minutes into the concert so you're right about her having been through the ringer by then lol. Ah!!! Your reactions are always so good! lol. And Moabanger is definitely a great choice for a babymetal reaction :) Hope you're doing well :) My coffee and I bid you a good morning lol, and I can't wait for your next video! Honestly I'd binge your content for hours If I could.
Ok you're definitely becoming my favorite commentor. I always laugh when I read your comments lol the human remark at silly on my end but honestly like you mentioned, I had never heard any imperfections in her singing so I thought I misheard lmao you know you're talented when you have new fans second guessing thier hearing 🤣 🤣 🤣
@@Abigirl_Reacts Awww! lol. that means a lot :) I mean, you bring joy into our lives so It means the world if one of my silly-ass comments can brighten your day lol. And don't worry XD I'll work hard to maintain my favorite commenter crown lmao. I'm a new yorker so that may involve bribing a public official and pizza. And IKR! her singing is crazy clean! Probably due to her getting vocal training from the cradle due to Sakura Gakuin. It makes you treasure those little imperfections in her performances because it shows just how absurdly talented the girl is lol.
Here's another interesting fact about "nametara ikan zeyo" It's originally a line from the 1982 movie Onimasa. "Nametara" being a conjugation of "nameru" which means "underestimate" (there's another inflection of "nameru" that means "to lick" which explains that Google Translate screenshot I shared in Discord btw), with the "ikan zayo" being essentially "don't you dare" but spoken in a dialect from the Tosa/Kōchi region. In the movie, the line is delivered by a gangster's daughter who has seen and been through a lot of...... you know? Anyway she's played by the actress Masako Natsume if you want to look her up. In the movie, "nametara ikan zeyo" by itself ends up meaning "don't you dare underestimate [us]," but Babymetal's version is preceded by "otome wa" or "maidens are," thus changing the line to mean essentially "maidens shouldn't be underestimated" OR "don't you dare underestimate maidens." There's just not a literal word for word that lines up here, so translations have to capture an emotion in this case. Here's the clip from Onimasa: th-cam.com/video/BjVb-ULER3o/w-d-xo.html (the timestamp in the URL should skip right to it, but if not it's at 2:54)
7:30 At this point during their live performances of this song, when Su is holding the mask to her face, Moa will always do something funny or cute to try to make Su laugh (hidden by the mask). And now that Momo has joined, both her and Moa will sometimes do something coordinated that is funny or quirky like a silly dance move. It's like an "easter egg" that us fans look out for and look forward to! If you watch their recent performance of this song when they were in Italy, you can see Moa miming like she was eating spaghetti! LOL 🤘🦊🤘
The difference between this version and the PIA version is where Su-metal is holding the mask. Maybe you are paying attention to Su-metal, but fans are paying attention to Moa, because at that time she was playing a small game - "Hengao" with Su behind the mask. And that's why when Su takes off the mask we saw Su smiling. In the past few years, Moa and Su would play a different Hengao when performing Magitsune at every concert. That's incredible. Because last year BabyMetal had 100 concerts. That means Moa and Su played Hengao 100 times with different facial and body expressions. Thanks for your great reaction.
@@Abigirl_Reacts The meaning of hengao (へんがお) is: 1. make strange expressions. 2. strange expressions. The rules of the game are probably that Moa or MOMO makes a strange expression and makes serious Su laugh! (fans all know, When Su laughs, she turns into a silly girl) You can check out a video on the Omajination channel - the title is: Every Megitsune Hengao from the EU & UK Tour BABYMETAL (2023).

@@Abigirl_ReactsI would describe it as a friendly way of trolling, Moa has become very creative at doing it and something to watch for whenever they perform the song
Nice one - I'm surprised the PIA Arena was blocked. This was early in the concert (notice Su was welcoming everybody to Legend MM Night of 20) Su's voice didn't crack, you just made her sing a bit too fast😉 ... but really, no I didn't hear a crack.🤔🦊 It was all the same choreo here as at the PIA Arena ... although Moa (and Momoko as well now it seems) do try to make Su laugh by pulling faces or saying something funny when she is behind the mask, so that will differ each time. 'Megitsune' is a big favourite, often coming top in fan polls and it is the song they have played live more times than any other. It is also arguably the song that showcases better than most what BABYMETAL are about and one that truly reflects their Japanese culture the best starting with the traditional instruments (shamisen or koto, I have no idea on the difference) at the start of the song and the lyrics about women being compared to foxes (kitsune - which also explains the fox mask Su had🦊and yes she has that every time) which, in Japanese mythology, are able to shape shift and take human form in order to deceive. It is also a bit of a push back against the traditional subservient female role in Japanese society saying that is changing I think - or maybe it is - whilst also praising and celebrating the women who have played that role over the years for their strength. They are saying that women wearing their make up and hiding their true feelings ("crying at heart, smiling at face") are not trying to deceive anybody, they are simply trying to please everybody - so they are not deceptive kitsune (foxes), they are maiden-like megitsune (female foxes or vixens) - and they are strong. The melody used in the intro and the breakdown in the middle of the song is from the very well known Japanese folk song called 'Sakura Sakura' (Cherry Blossoms). The part you particularly liked when Su spoke a few words and did a high kick she said "Otome wa ... nametara ikan zeyo." (Maidens ... shouldn't be underestimated). The last part of this is a famous quote from a Japanese gangster movie said by the daughter of a gang boss. The official music video was released in 2013 (feel free to do another reaction, it is a good one) - Su-metal was 15, Yuimetal and Moametal both 13 nearly 14.
Babymetal's legendary song, definitely one of my favorites.. yes, every time they perform this song live, Su always has a mask on, and they have jokes.
Great reaction again, thanks! This version has a key difference from the PIA Arena one: Momoko was a full member here. Also I attended Legend-MM so it's another key difference for me. 🤣 Not sure if you noticed that they were performing on the "satellite" stage on this one. They fooled us before every song about the stage they were going to use (the main or this one). That was a nice touch. "Megitsune" is not an easy song and it challenges Su's vocal range. When she was younger she struggled with the lower notes and now with the higher ones. I understand (and secretly like) when she cracks a bit (believe it or not they got hate for sounding "too" perfect). Anyway she's more accurate live than 99% of the rock/metal singers out there. 🤘🦊
@@Abigirl_Reacts People claiming that they sound "too" perfect live... are just jealous and/or looking to be controversial without a reason (or just to get clicks and views). On the other hand, I can understand people hating on them because they are "different" since I was kind of a metal elitist when I was younger. Not wanting to open to new genres and artists led me to loose almost all my interest in music. Luckily, I discovered BABYMETAL at the right moment. 😊
Another good reaction! After falling in love with the band about a month ago i pulled the trigger on seeing them on their US tour in november so fast haha. 😄 moabanger is a fun one too!
Great reaction as always! Megitsune is their 5th ever release. Su has said in an interview how it is still to this day, the hardest song for her to sing. She also usually use this song for soundcheck. Fun fact, when they were releasing the song, they had a ceremony to pray for the success of the song. I'd say their prayers were answered, and it became one of their staple songs. A suggestion, if you're interested. If you want to react to any song for the 2nd time, but different version, you can try react to an older performances from their earlier eras. Of course, depending on how old the song. Babymetal has 3 distinct eras. -The Founding Members Era (2010 - 2017) (with Yuimetal) -The Duo Era (2018 - 2022) (Babymetal continue as a duo after Yui's departure) -The New Babymetal Era (2023 - Present) (with Momometal) You could also check if the song has a Music Video. They don't have many music video, but they're all pretty good. Anyways, keep diving into the FoxHole! 🦊🦊🦊
Thank you again for this lovely reaction. This was actually the song which I discovered first and led me into my journey with Babymetal. Of course the MV one, which I asume was your first reaction content. The message of the song is the main reason I never fell for the comment complaining about commercial sexism and abuse of childen about the band's background. For me it is the tale of a girl comming of age realizing that finding her own way in life (i e. Emanzipation) is a challenge throughout various relationships and worth tackling. Simply love everything about it and Megitsune will always be a special song for me, unrivaled and cherished. Have a wonderful week.
I love this song so much. Meanwhile, live footage of me getting smashed to pieces during the last "SORE!" part last year: th-cam.com/users/shortsMvrByvHCas4
I really enjoy watching people go through BM songs for the first time. The group is very creative and there are so many different experiences from Dusk Till Dawn, Shanti Shanti Shanti, Oh Majinai, Night Night Burn, Metal Kingdom, Metalizm, Light and Darkness, Road of Resistance, BxMxC, they have wandered all over the metal spectrum in a good way.
Hey AbiMetal, if im not mistaken it's the same outfits. This was actully the second song on Night 1. I can't remember if you reacted to Megitsune Original MV. But you will see how much younger they were back when this song was first realeased. The only differance being Momo is not in the original MV. It's the other original mamber Yuimetal. Still worth a watch. Edit: There is a comp out the of fancam where they edit all the 2023 shows together of the three girls where Su has the mask and the other two are trying to make Su laugh. I can't find it, but i'm sure another fan can point you in the right direction. Edit 2: While looking for the above mentioned video, i remebered, the is a band call Nemophila, they are a Heavy Metal japanes band, one of the girls is a big Babymetal fan and the did a video cover of Megitsune: Video Title BABYMETAL / メギツネ(MEGITSUNE) [Cover by NEMOPHILA] I'm hoping that one day this gets released on Spotify Edit 3: lol They are going on a US Tour this fall/winter. Look for tickets.
I actually reacted to Nemophila's cover! It was requested by my patrons so I recorded it and uploaded it to patreon. No edits or nothing. It was amazing! I plan to release to YT... as soon as I figure out the copyright flags.
@@Abigirl_Reacts wow thank you for taking the time to respond with updates on your channel. This is how you build a viewership thats loyal. Keep up the good work AbiMetal 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻
Kitsune Up ⬆⬆⬆🤘🤘🤘, Great reaction,Abi..... love for your comment and reaction, this is Anthem song for Kitsunes... Megitsune is Female Fox and Kitsune is Male Fox
at the Su-metal mask section of the song, every show, Moa and Momo do something different to try and get something out of Sue, when they both turn to her before she throws the mask.. it can be anything, they are hilarious
Nice one! This is yet another amazing Megitsune from Babymetal! As you mentioned, the lyrics carries a very deep meaning, empowering women as well. Su says that women are not vixens, not deceiving, but innocent, pure-hearted "Megitsunes". As time marches on, what it means to be an ideal woman is changing. Forever, always, women will shoot off their fireworks and stay ablaze, never fading. Fun tid-bit, at 7:00: Did you see that row-pit? Babymetal is so metal, the crowd sat down to row their viking long-boats!! 🤣 🤘🦊
OMG SU IS HUMAN!!!! = 0 more importantly, the fact that her voice cracked shows that she is indeed singing live. Su sings live a large number of times, with several exceptions (Night of 15 Headbanger mega mix as an example) also watch the video its very visually pleasing, and there is a surprise near the end. x D
Great song, great reaction (as always). 🤘🦊🤘🇲🇹 You have to watch the original music video for this one. 😉 Su, human? Nah, she's just trying to fool you. She actually was reborn as a Metal Goddess in 2013, as evidenced in "Babymetal Death Legend 1997" live video. But I won't give any spoilers. #notacult
Nice reaction! Yes, the "PIA Arena 2023" performance you watched initially was from the "Black Night". They wear the "old" costumes there. The evening after ("Clear Night") they introduced the "new" costumes (which are "old" now, too. You should try and see the current costumes, they look really great!). Yes, Su-Metal uses the Fox mask with EVERY performance of "Megitsune". At the overseas concerts Moa and Momo do some shenanigans on stage before Su-Metal throws the mask away. Always a great fun moment. There is a whole video with just the "Megitsune Hengao" 🤣 Additionally, at the overseas concerts there is a very high chance that a "row boat" is done by the audience. "Megitsune" is an essential BABYMETAL song, too, and it is so much fun live!
GREAT REACTION AS ALWAYS! The answer to your question about where in the set list this song come on this night. It's the 2nd song they performed. But more like the first as the actual first track is BABYMETAL DEATH, which is more of a intro than anything... I'd put that tiny "voice crack" you picked up on down to that fact that it has been widely reported by "THE ONE" (babymetal fandom) that it is a song that has become harder for her to belt out as her voice has matured over the years. Su-metal still absolutely kills it and sounds amazing as ever. I personally have no complaints
Well this song is still their silent guard. Before each concert she sings this song zo check her voice on that day to determine what her voic can produce on that day. It is still one of her technical most challenging songs.
In looking at your BM playlist, I've noticed you've done 2 Yuimetal era BM songs ( this one being one of them) but you haven't actually done any with her in them. When you do you'll see why she remains a fan favorite with the Kitsunes even though it's been nearly 7 years since she last performed with BM. BTW,you really should react to the BM documentary people have recommended 🦊🤘
the songs MEGITSUNE and RONDO of NIGHTMARE, in fact were the most difficult songs to sing live and SU-metal young at that time were able to perform them very well, without fatigue, but different from now that she is an adult, has vocals have changed a bit but are still strong, it's just that maybe now MEGITSUNE & RONDO of NIGHTMARE or their other old songs are the songs that are the most tiring for him. singing and dancing accompanied by heavy music is 2-3x as tiring because the rhythm of the heavy music is very loud, sometimes the rhythm of the music is louder than the vocals, so the vocalist has to use all has energy so that has voice can be heard clearly by the audience. and the dance is also different from K-pop dances in general, Babymetal's choreography is very aggressive, you can compare it yourself
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。The information you need was given by Grington300. He is my mentor of BABYMETAL. 😄 I witnessed this performance at the venue shouting "Sore Sore" and moving my body hard. BABYMETAL fans are required to have enough physical power. In an interview Su-Metal said (1) This song is a mixture of various elements ; very fast but smooth, hard but beautiful etc. (2) The tune and choreo have Japonesque flavor which may attract overseas fans. (3) This is her tuning song because it includes various factors for singing in a well-balanced manner. So she always sings Megitsune in rehearsal to confirm her vocal condition. Su actually said "in a sense, it is a song of criterion for me". (source : Tokion Vol.7 2020-12-24) (ps. I can tell you that women with face smiling but heart tearing are a species threatened with extinction in Japan. Japanese women are strong and straightforward, especially at home. They are sometimes tyrants. I am writing this watching my back. My wife sometimes sneaks into my room. 😅)

I hope this will help you.
Hi Abi Thanks for this reaction I loved it 🤘 I advise you to react to BABYMETAL DEATH | Legend 1997 it's the special concert for Sumetal's 16th birthday It was one of Babymetal's first big concerts
Yes, sometimes she makes some mistakes 😅. For example, she had to go through at least three or four shows before she managed to deal with Divine Attack, which features a lot of dancing for her. In a way, it's funny cause she wrote the song herself 😅. It took a couple of shows for Kingslayer too, though the third and fourth are perfect. She really has to nail the timing very, very well given the dancing routines and the amount of sustained notes she pull out of the hat 🪄🎩 And it should be noted that, while her voice overall improved, she of course has a bit less stamina than 8 years ago 😊. 🤘🦊⚡️
It was the 2nd Track on the MM20 concert (after the Opening Daeth). Maybe not enough voice warmup. But here we see they use autorune only stylistc like Daft Punk, not to correkt notes to the perfekt line like Dua Lipa or Taylor Swift in some Live performances.
Yeah, they always have the mask during the heavy part, and they backtrack it. Having Moa and Momo as cheerleaders in a sense really keeps the crowd lit up. They use this song for the sound check cuz of the vocals. We are still not sure if Su is human, she was probably faking the crack to deceive us. This is the start of the concert, and she probably isn't fully warmed up even though she does her pre-concert voice exercises.
Time to explore more Japanese bands: Band Maid - East of Eden - Gacharic Spin. They will give you a perspective of what is going on in the music scene in Japan. You may choose any recent video from them . Enjoy
I think for most this is easily a top 5 BM song. It has aged incredibly well and will do so far into the future. Also, please understand that Queen Su doesn't make mistakes, she just likes to experiment.
gimme chocolate was my first time exposure to BM, that song was shocked me but Megitsune (MV) is the "wtf" moment for me to actualy admited that these girls are something else, and the journey continue since. Got my first BM concert at Jakarta-Indonesia 2023, talking about you have to be in shape going to their concerts 😅, lost my voice and barely got up in the next morning. btw you should watch the mv version, its worth it at least for your own time. because it's an official mv from their own channel (good luck posting it 😁)
Finally Megistune, too bad I won't be able to see the first Patreon reaction lol. Before reacting to Moa Banger, react to the most iconic live version of Headbanger, the one from Show Legend 1997 (Su's 16th birthday). Don't forget to react to Megitsune's MV, it's one of the best BABYMETAL MVs.
@AbiGirl: Ha! Found your channel as a big EC & BM fan *lol* and it is so much fun to see how you have been fallen deep into the fox hole. So now it is time to give you some MUST SEE recommendations and the next deeeeeeeep rabbit (not fox) holes. For J-Metal you must dive into Lovebites ("Holy War" Tokyo live 2020) and Band Maid "Hate" live. And your experience with Japanese girl(!) groups will reach another level. And then .... it is coming.... you really have to meet the goddess valkyrie of Metal. The best female vocalist in the universe. React to Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" Wacken 2013 live. Your life will never be the same. Pandorra's box is open. The journey starts to continue with Epica, Ayreon, The Warning, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Within Temptation, Rammstein, Jinjer etc etc. TRUST ME. The book you will open is so fantastic with bands of another world it will left you speachless. Can you imagine a song with 11 (!) lead vocals in Metal? No? > Ayreon "The Day that the World breaks down" Official The Source 2017. I am curious now. 😂
I think people underestimate the depth of Babymetal's lyrics on the first album because Gimme Chocolate!, Doki Doki Morning and Iine! in particular are light-hearted songs on the surface. Headbanger! and Megitsune among others on later albums talk about how they are aware of the fleeting nature of youth and of how they know that soon a patriarchal society will expect them to behave 'properly' and that they need to deal with that without losing who they are.
I love Doki Doki Morning! I think it is sad that many people just seem to completely ignore it. So much fun energy there, especially in the original music video. I think that, along with Gimme Chocolate!, are the songs that put the kawaii in kawaii metal.
Well, In a way. Traditionelle female Foxeschave tje ability to change into a human woman. And after a few years they leave zhe jousevand leave husband and children. In this song it is described from the perspectove of a female Kitsune and it shows, no they are not the eveil irresponsible Beines of the fairy tail , instead they fightvand do everything to fullfill their obligations although they try to pull them apart but they always have to smile to the outside World, because it is expected of them. It isn't their evil doings that are the problems but the totally contrary demands that force them to leave their positions.
I understand this song has an undercurrent of singing about misogyny in the culture; being actress and hiding their true feelings which you mentioned. In this case they are sassy women - female foxes. She always picks up a mask at that point (6:58), and Moa and now Momo try to make Su laugh with antics on stage as it is supposed to be serious at that point. The spoken part comes from a Yakuza film - its strict translation is "if you disrespect me - regrettable", but Japanese to English to translation it is better to adjust it.
Su's voice cracked 😮 i did not hear it . The only difference in the routine will be what Su says to the audience and what Moa does during the part Su's face is hidden by the mask trying to make her laugh . Fans always watch for that bit 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Nice reaction... Too bad nobody linked you to the Red Fox Festival performance of Megitsune. Babymetal held a series of concerts with specific audience requirements, all boys, all girls, older folks and young kids, ppl have to be in kamiband facepaint etc..... The Red Fox was the all women concert, and when this song started, the crowd went nutz. This song is about female empowerment, and every auntie, mom grandma, and sister in the crowd was throwing up their kitsune's and bouncing!!! 😁😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
A couple times in the early days they would slowly march to the stage with their masks and Kimonos on then do a choreographed deep bow to the crowd. I miss that and wish they would bring that back. It was so beautiful and so Japanese. But, I still love it the way it is now of course. :)
Hi Abi So yes Su IS human. When she performed here in Vancouver, BC in October, I feel they must have already been exhausted because they were performing multiple days in a row and Su sang a couple notes flat and in a song or two surprised me by being slightly off key even. None of us cared though. Just seeing the girls and being able to be there was still magical and everybody had a blast. The only thing I didn't like was the choice they made to partner with Dethklok. While I actually like that band, I don't think its a very good pairing with Babymetal as people brought their kids to see Babymetal and to have to go through Dethklok and see videos of cartoon decapitations and soforth as Dethklok is known for I don't think is a good fit, even if the music was good and the videos were funny, they weren't appropriate for some of the people that were there sadly. But Babymetal was still a blast to listen to and watch and participate with. It was also super cool because they performed in a very small venue. It was their first time performing in Vancouver, BC so I guess they didn't want to perform in a big stadium because they probably didn't know if anybody would show up I guess. I don't mind because the big stadiums here have really crappy speakers and the forum, where they played, actually has a good sound system AND it's small, so you can get pretty close to the girls! So that was really awesome! Still a life-changing event in my mind and I'll always hope they return!
@@Abigirl_Reacts They are. And when you finally get to watch one of the "documentaries" about them you'll get to see how even through all the fame and attention, they're still the most kind and humble human beings you could ever meet.
Great video as always :) I'm surprised Kingslayer isn't recommended more often. Its one of their best collabs (with Bring Me The Horizon). If you want to check it out, the official Live in Tokyo video is great :) Maybe you'll have less copyright issues with that one, since its a BMTH song feat. BM The rotating overlay over the video that you're using now can be a bit distracting, have you tried playing with some transparency or so? I've seen videos where people just made the video half-transparent - maybe that helps
@@Abigirl_Reacts TH-cam is so finicky with it lol. The more subscribers a channel has the easier it is for them to get away with it as well. What you;re trying to do is change the pixel recognition, so lowering the opacity of the overlay could help if people find it objectionable :) its really well designed so it'd be a shame to can it all together.
Hey Abi, great reaction, as usual. I see this one had blocking issues as well, which is fine, Babymetal fans understand the problems reactors have with some bands. It is more of a problem the more recent the performance is, or if it is a 'special' concert, like those that are birthday concerts or something really epic. You need to understand why this happens, Babymetal don't hate reactors, but they make significant money from their DVD/Blu-Ray sales of their concerts. Most of their older concerts are scraped out, they don't sell many anymore, so they don't block them as much, they view them as a loss-leader to draw people to their music. Newer concerts haven't sold their cost-quota of DVDs yet, so they are more protective of these performances. They want to sell their music, rather than let reactors show it for free and kill sales of their DVDs. Even some of their older shows are still protected because they still generate significant sales of DVDs so it is good luck to any reactors that want to test the waters with those shows. These shows include, The two 2016 Tokyo Dome concerts, Legend M, Legend S, and more recently Legend MM. All these shows will likely cause some problems. We are starting to see this now with PIA Arena, BM Begins and BM Returns. There seemed to be a grace period where reactors were able to react to performances from these shows, but more and more are getting blocked as time goes on. We see a similar thing with BM's and Electric Callboy's recent colab. It was a free-for-all for the first week or so, now almost all of the official videos need to be masked. I am letting you know this because you said that you are intending to do Moa-Banger soon. Please put your filter over the top of it from the beginning, it will save you a lot of editing time, trying to get it up on TH-cam with different filters and cuts. Moa-Banger is a protected song, there are some compilations out there, but the quality of them is limited. Anyway, I will hop out of your comment section, thanks for today's video, I really enjoyed it.
You seem so knowledgeable and I have many questions. I only want to see BM when they're older because I love their mature voices. Which concert do you think I'll have the least issues with that shows their voices at most mature? When you say put your filter over the whole thing, you're referring to my moving watermark logo right? Lastly I heard there's a good recent compilation of moabanger out there. Do you think this will prove problematic because it's a mash up of recent concerts even though it's a compilation?
@@Abigirl_Reacts Hi Abi, no, most compilations will get through, however, I'm not aware of Moa-Banger being played recently.Tthe "----banger" performances tend to be on significant events like Moa's or Momo's birthday concerts, so I don't know where the compilation will be from. Let me have a look tonight and I will see what I can dig up. I will join your Patreon as well so I can look what you are doing there.
Hah, wrong! Queen Su is NOT human. She is now a fully fledged goddess. You will learn, in time 🦊 Actually voice cracking is probably intentional in Megitsune as it leans towards the traditional Japanese Enka style of singing The line "nametara ikan ze yo!" (舐めたらいかんぜよ!) literally means "if you lick me, it's no good!" but "lick" in this context means to look down upon and underestimate. ikan is from ikenai (not good) and ze yo! ending is very forceful and yakuza like. So it means more like "if you underestimate me, I will F you up". The line was originally from a 1982 yakuza movie called Onimasa. The character played by Masako Natsume uses this line forcefully in the film. You can see the scene play out from this point RaPtyrQDf88&t=2m25s
I really do love your thoughtful, heartfelt reactions. The spinning watermark seems kinda over the top. The big one for me though is the speeded up audio. I know it's for copyright purposes but changing the audio messes with the essential nature of the music. Kind of like looking at visual artwork through a colored filter. I think perhaps it's my musician roots but the hyper audio is more than I can handle. Best wishes to you but for me alas it's bye.
It was either this or no video at all. You don't know how many times she tried to get this video published. Slightly speeding up the audio was a last resort measure for this particular reaction.
@@Abigirl_Reacts I'm sorry too. You from the start have been a very genuine, enthusiastic reactor who puts a ton of joy into ¥our reactions. I was a pro drummer for many years and maybe it's more obvious to me than some others? But what really gets me is hearing a sincere, honest reactor like yourself not getting to react to the music the way Babymetal wanted all of us to hear it. When I first heard the speeded up version of "Momobanger" my jaw dropped. And then this performance of "Megitsune" my first thought was Abigirl is not getting to react to the real performance. And your obvious and honest joy in hearing them has made me a bit sad realizing some of the subtleties in the performance you're missing. I am truly sorry you've got to go through this nonsense. And I wish you nothing but the best.
@@robote7679 You misunderstand. Abi watched the video and reacted to it at the correct speed (which is how it is on Patreon). She only speeded it a little to upload it on TH-cam after several attempts. So Abi watched the video and reacted to it at the correct speed, and not how we see it here.
👍 👍 Always a great reaction. I understand why you sped up the audio (copyright issues). However for those who have not seen this song performed before it may give off a poor impression of the song UNLESS you alerted your audience beforehand that this had been done. If you did so and I missed it I apologize but I only heard you mention the pausing that was necessary. With that said thanks again for your concern for your audience by taking the time to upload a performance that we could all see.
Hi Rah! Hmm but the thing is, I wouldn't know whether or not I have to alter the video until after I've recorded it and attempted to upload to YT. Because of i can get away with less editing, you bet I won't mess with it haha Maybe a disclaimer in the description will help?
PIA Arena 2023 video shouldn't get blocked (exception Light and Darkness) and video blocks are pretty easy to get around with just a watermark. There is a chance Megitsune PIA Arena 2023 audio gets blocked as it gets detected as an old blocked performance. No amount of pausing will get around that. I went in and modified the audio in the inaudible range to prevent it before I uploaded my own. If you want to get it up, test cutting out the first part of audio of the intro. The major difference between this Megitsune, and PIA Arena is that Momo is a full member of BM here, and she is doing backup vocals, where she didn't during PIA Arena.
@@DaniloSouza84 I take the audio of another performance of the song, and reduced its audio to the point it couldn't be heard, but the algorithm will still detects it, and time it to match the audio of the video. There isn't a science to it as YT's algorithm is dumb, and inconsistent. Sometimes I will remove the vocals with VocalRemover AI, or even flatten some frequency ranges which allow it to be placed a little higher in the mix without being heard. What YT mostly detects is the synth that seems to flag it as an old concert, since it doesn't really change from performance to performance. It's the other audio around it that gets it detected as another concert in the database.
I couldn't get around the pia arena concert with just a watermark but see plenty of others do it. I don't get why some things work and some things don't for certain people. Still trying to learn.

It was Momo's last day in her 20s.
Together with 21 Night the next day, the love for Momo and the joy of the audience was overflowing to the highest degree.
Of course, I cried out my deepest love right then and there.
It was the best crowd ever.
I bet! Crowd seemed so lively!
Bro I would love to haha it's just a bit difficult with a little baby. And depends on the price 🤘🦊🤘
Thanks sailor! It's definitely on my list 🤘🦊🤘
Always a good start to my day to wake up to an Abimetal Reaction XD
This was a GREAT performance right?!
Ah!!! Your reactions are always so good! lol. And Moabanger is definitely a great choice for a babymetal reaction :)
Hope you're doing well :) My coffee and I bid you a good morning lol, and I can't wait for your next video!
Here's another interesting fact about "nametara ikan zeyo"
It's originally a line from the 1982 movie Onimasa.
Here's the clip from Onimasa: th-cam.com/video/BjVb-ULER3o/w-d-xo.html (the timestamp in the URL should skip right to it, but if not it's at 2:54)
Really cool insight!
Cool indeed 🤘🦊🤘
7:30 At this point during their live performances of this song, when Su is holding the mask to her face, Moa will always do something funny or cute to try to make Su laugh (hidden by the mask). And now that Momo has joined, both her and Moa will sometimes do something coordinated that is funny or quirky like a silly dance move. It's like an "easter egg" that us fans look out for and look forward to! If you watch their recent performance of this song when they were in Italy, you can see Moa miming like she was eating spaghetti! LOL 🤘🦊🤘
Hengao right?
@@Abigirl_Reacts Yes! Hengao battle between Su and Moa. On some older videos, you can clearly see Su blowing up her cheeks!
The original mv is worth watching
I bet!
What's hengao mean?
@@Abigirl_Reacts
The meaning of hengao (へんがお) is: 1. make strange expressions. 2. strange expressions.
The rules of the game are probably that Moa or MOMO makes a strange expression and makes serious Su laugh! (fans all know, When Su laughs, she turns into a silly girl)
You can check out a video on the Omajination channel - the title is: Every Megitsune Hengao from the EU & UK Tour BABYMETAL (2023).

@@Abigirl_ReactsI would describe it as a friendly way of trolling, Moa has become very creative at doing it and something to watch for whenever they perform the song
Nice one - I'm surprised the PIA Arena was blocked. This was early in the concert (notice Su was welcoming everybody to Legend MM Night of 20) Su's voice didn't crack, you just made her sing a bit too fast😉 ... but really, no I didn't hear a crack.🤔🦊
It was all the same choreo here as at the PIA Arena ... although Moa (and Momoko as well now it seems) do try to make Su laugh by pulling faces or saying something funny when she is behind the mask, so that will differ each time.
Thanks for all your great comments🦊💖

This version has a key difference from the PIA Arena one: Momoko was a full member here. Also I attended Legend-MM so it's another key difference for me. 🤣
Not sure if you noticed that they were performing on the "satellite" stage on this one.
🤘🦊
TOO perfect? Not possible! How could anyone hate BM, I dont understand.

-The Founding Members Era (2010 - 2017) (with Yuimetal)
-The Duo Era (2018 - 2022) (Babymetal continue as a duo after Yui's departure)
-The New Babymetal Era (2023 - Present) (with Momometal)
You could also check if the song has a Music Video. They don't have many music video, but they're all pretty good.
Anyways, keep diving into the FoxHole! 🦊🦊🦊
I wonder why they funny have many music videos. The ones I've watched are great!

Can't wait to do more!

As you mentioned, the lyrics carries a very deep meaning, empowering women as well. Su says that women are not vixens, not deceiving, but innocent, pure-hearted "Megitsunes". Nice reaction! Yes, the "PIA Arena 2023" performance you watched initially was from the "Black Night". They wear the "old" costumes there.

Understood, thank you!
the songs MEGITSUNE and RONDO of NIGHTMARE, in fact were the most difficult songs to sing live and SU-metal young at that time were able to perform them very well, without fatigue, but different from now that she is an adult, has vocals have changed a bit but are still strong, it's just that maybe now MEGITSUNE & RONDO of NIGHTMARE or their other old songs are the songs that are the most tiring for him. singing and dancing accompanied by heavy music is 2-3x as tiring because the rhythm of the heavy music is very loud, sometimes the rhythm of the music is louder than the vocals, so the vocalist has to use all has energy so that has voice can be heard clearly by the audience. and the dance is also different from K-pop dances in general, Babymetal's choreography is very aggressive, you can compare it yourself
Yes this seems very difficult to sing to!
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。The information you need was given by Grington300. He is my mentor of BABYMETAL. 😄
I witnessed this performance at the venue shouting "Sore Sore" and moving my body hard.
(source : Tokion Vol.7 2020-12-24)
(ps. I can tell you that women with face smiling but heart tearing are a species threatened with extinction in Japan. Japanese women are strong and straightforward, especially at home. They are sometimes tyrants. I am writing this watching my back. My wife sometimes sneaks into my room. 😅)

Auditory illusion YES! That makes SO much more sense hahaha =P
She really has to nail the timing very, very well given the dancing routines and the amount of sustained notes she pull out of the hat 🪄🎩
And it should be noted that, while her voice overall improved, she of course has a bit less stamina than 8 years ago 😊.

This is the start of the concert, and she probably isn't fully warmed up even though she does her pre-concert voice exercises.

but Megitsune (MV) is the "wtf" moment for me to actualy admited that these girls are something else, and the journey continue since. Got my first BM concert at Jakarta-Indonesia 2023, talking about you have to be in shape going to their concerts 😅, lost my voice and barely got up in the next morning.
btw you should watch the mv version, its worth it at least for your own time. because it's an official mv from their own channel (good luck posting it 😁)
I'm sure I would lose my voice too! 🤘🦊🤘
I wonder why they don't have too many music videos? They seem great!
@@Abigirl_Reacts I think BABYMETAL is a band that works best live.
@@DaniloSouza84 Exactly this.
Su voice cracks once in awhile when she gets excited.
It happens =D
Sounds EPIC! So many reactions to do, so little time!
That's a deep message!
It's always pretty much the hardest song for Su. There's just so much bouncing around and no time to breathe.
I hear ya, it's definitely very challenging!
Name tara ikan zeyo?

They have concert requirements?! Woah!
@@Abigirl_ReactsOnly for specific shows.
@Abigirl_Reacts The Five Fox Festival was the only time they had requirements. 😁😁🤘🦊🤘
🤟🐱🤟❤️🥳
🤘🦊🤘
A couple times in the early days they would slowly march to the stage with their masks and Kimonos on then do a choreographed deep bow to the crowd. I miss that and wish they would bring that back. It was so beautiful and so Japanese. But, I still love it the way it is now of course. :)
That sounds super epic 🤘🦊🤘
Hi Abi
So yes Su IS human.
I'm glad babymetal was still a blast to listen to! 🤘🦊🤘
@@Abigirl_Reacts They are. And when you finally get to watch one of the "documentaries" about them you'll get to see how even through all the fame and attention, they're still the most kind and humble human beings you could ever meet.
Great video as always :)
I'm surprised Kingslayer isn't recommended more often. Its one of their best collabs (with Bring Me The Horizon).
If you want to check it out, the official Live in Tokyo video is great :)
Maybe you'll have less copyright issues with that one, since its a BMTH song feat. BM
The rotating overlay over the video that you're using now can be a bit distracting, have you tried playing with some transparency or so? I've seen videos where people just made the video half-transparent - maybe that helps
I think why it isn't mentained a lot is because Babymetal fans wana hear Babymetal songs more than collabs. Just guessing
Well, tbh. The kingslayer, Ratatata, and leave it all behind collabs are some of the best collabs I've seen PERIOD.
@cryptickitsune1876 true no disagree there lol but going down the fox hole of Babymetal they have like 40+ great songs
Maaaaaan I've seen reactors get away with ZERO transparency or watermarks. I don't get why I get flagged so much and others don't!
@@Abigirl_Reacts TH-cam is so finicky with it lol. The more subscribers a channel has the easier it is for them to get away with it as well.
What you;re trying to do is change the pixel recognition, so lowering the opacity of the overlay could help if people find it objectionable :)
its really well designed so it'd be a shame to can it all together.
You will learn, in time 🦊 Actually voice cracking is probably intentional in Megitsune as it leans towards the traditional Japanese Enka style of singing
The line "nametara ikan ze yo!" (舐めたらいかんぜよ!) literally means "if you lick me, it's no good!" but "lick" in this context means to look down upon and underestimate. ikan is from ikenai (not good) and ze yo! ending is very forceful and yakuza like. So it means more like "if you underestimate me, I will F you up". The line was originally from a 1982 yakuza movie called Onimasa. The character played by Masako Natsume uses this line forcefully in the film. You can see the scene play out from this point RaPtyrQDf88&t=2m25s
Wow this was so useful, thank you for the explanation!
Slightly speeding up the audio was a last resort measure for this particular reaction.
it's aweful.
I don't have a choice! The only way I could upload sadly was by adding all the over the top annoying edits! I hate that I have to!

@@Abigirl_Reacts understood! But a postscript could be added. Thanks for listening.

I feel like last time that lead me to an AWFUL compilation but I'll definitely try this strat again!
How do you do this scheme to make the audio range inaudible? I want to start my reaction channel and would love to learn these techniques.
I would adore an Abimetal reaction to light and darkness holy shit lol. That performance is great.
@@Hymnodic This is too technically advanced for me lol
I couldn't get around the pia arena concert with just a watermark but see plenty of others do it. I don't get why some things work and some things don't for certain people. Still trying to learn.
