This compilation video is a bit chaotic, but thanks for your reaction. Headbanger is one of Babymetal's biggest hits. Usually Su is the only singer, but there are special versions for girls' birthdays where Su sings the first half of the song and Moa or Momo sings the second half. Personally, I think the best experience is to watch the regular version of Headbanger first (Headbanger legend 1997 is the best version, with Su, Moa and Yui) and then watch Moabanger and finally Momobanger. I was there to see Momobanger live and we were all blown away by it. I was right in front of the stage extension between the stage and the AV desk, so I had the perfect view. We expected that it would be good, but I don't think anyone expected that Momo's interpretation would be so unique. The combination of Momo's kawaii vocals along with the death growls was really something extra. There are various online guides that explain what the actions and chants are, and there are several fan clubs as well. Mostly you can just go along and follow along with what everyone else is doing since it's not that complicated. This video has cuts from a few different performances interspersed with the Momobanger performance. It was necessary to get around the copyright, as there is only one performance of Momobanger to take video from. This particular compilation is kind of ass, but some other compilations are alright. It really depends on the particular video. You could use the community tab to announce which song you want to do next, and we can post videos of good performances of that song you can react to. What is happening is probably more clear if you watch Moabanger, since they did the same thing at that show as well. Basically, Su sang the first part, they she handed off the mic to Momo for the second part. Everything you heard after Su handed off the mic was Momo on lead vocals. It is a crime to listen this song without the original first because you don't know the context and why this special live performance and song is important for the girls, hopefully you will follow our suggestions and met the original formation at least a couple of songs. Momo is the best, I adore everything she's brought to the band 😭😭 I'm absolutely down for you to see the non-compilation, it's really cool! Moa's is pretty neat too! If you want the original Headbangerrrr experience, the Legend 1997 concert version is what first introduced me them. It's AMAZING! I usually lean towards non-compilation, but I totally see why people use them :)

The really cool thing about these 2 Legend MM shows was that we got some new lore added to their story. This time it was about Momo and her origin story, you should check out the Babymetal lore it's really fun and interesting to delve into that particular part of the Foxhole

I mean... Sorta? The community does have, like, guides to interact in shows. You gotta remember that BABYMETAL is a whole act, the conjoined effort of a huge staff of people hitting their marks down to the milimeter, knowing our part is a way to be part of it and put in at least a sliver of the work they put every show. At least that's how I see it regarding the community attending the shows and knowing the chants, singns and other stuff.
Most compilations are great. The only reason why fans want reactors to avoid them is so they won't get confused. But if you realize it's a compilation going into it then you won't get confused.
It was Momo, there is for this song the original was Su but for their birthdays there are versions with Yui, Moa, and this one Momo, so there is 4 different versions of this song, Not sure if anyone broke it down for you, but the song is about a teen girls very first metal concert experience, basically breaking one’s metal virginity
I know I'm late to the party on this one, but while I'm fine with about 90% of the compilations (particularly since they're made to get around the horrible automated TH-cam copyright nonsense) this one is probably the only one I absolutely hate. Whereas with most compilations it's not TOO bad because generally Su is doing all of the singing so the focus is on her regardless of the venue the song is performed in, this version of Headbanger was Momo's time to shine and whomever made the compilation should NEVER have had shots of Su singing with Momo's voice. It borders on disrespectful. Just so it's clear, the fault does not lie with you as you could have had no way of knowing. I'm so happy you were able to see the "better" version in a later video. Sadly I can't become a Patreon due to a complete lack of disposable income so I don't know whether or not you've already covered Momo Taro (Momo's performance of Meta Taro) but I definitely recommend it. It's a fun song (apparently one of Su's favorites) and Momo bears her fangs again. It's fantastic.

It is a fairly simple, fun and bouncy song and the singing duties in Momo's version are split between Momo and Su pretty equally in the Live version much like they were here in Momobanger. (I have never viewed any Momobanger reaction video that covers real and whole "Legend-MM" version) Juxtaposition of growl and overly cutesy (intentionally anime-like) voice by Momometal. That is new ammunition of BABYMETAL. Momoko cannon loaded with sheer dark explosives and a warhead made of shiny and bubbly metal. I witnessed this performance and got crushed into pieces, smilingly of course, at the venue. Everybody there was also honored to have a chance to celebrate Momoko's last day of her 20 years of age.
Great reaction ... but you understand now why we recommend you don't do first reactions with compilation videos. We want you to have the best possible experience the first time you see and hear a new song and some compilations are just really confusing so you're trying to work out what is going on rather than enjoying the performance. Some are OK, but every now and then you get one that has been put together really badly - sadly this is one of those. The only good thing (apart from your reaction of course, that is always good) was that the audio was all from Legend MM (Momometal's 21st birthday concerts), so it was all Momometal's vocals and screams for the second half of the song after Su handed her the mic and stand. I hope you are feeling much better now.
Have been missing you AbiMetal. Glad to see you are back. Congrats on your 1500. MomoBanger, one of my favorites to showcase Momo. You are correct, it is Momo, the compilation can mess with your mind and experience, that is why people are against them. The compilations on "for the fox god" channel is the best ones, so I would advice to use those. The reason for the compilations is to combat copyright.
My opinion on pateron: the tier 2. some people will be angry about the " It's just for you!" exclusivity. One way to combat that, is: do tier 2, with all the perks you have described already, but also release the reaction on YT later, as a patreon member react vod kind of deal. I believe there will be pushback on the exclusivity deal.
Me watching this compilation already knowing Momobanger: no problem. Me watching you reacting to this compilation and get really confused: annoyed. Me stumbling upon this compilation while trying to watch Momobanger for the first time: pissed off and stoping the video to find another one.
Ya, every performance has its nuances, compilations can confuse you ( which music track are they using, things don't match up) more than it should. At least you know ( and tell us you know) it's a compilation.

Unfortunately, that is the only way to get new and one off performances past copyright. Some are just bad and some just suck (like this one). You should trust your ears when you have to use a compilation. You said yourself that you know what Su-metal sounds like. The more you listen and get to know Momoa (Momo and Moa), the easier it will be to distinguish who is singing. Watching interviews and their Sakura Gakuin materiel will help speed things up. The compilation for this one is a bit odd, normally they are fine to show the band in various locations and it's fun, but where it's breaking context in this it can be distracting. That said the real fun of this performance is Momo growls, brilliant, and fun watching!
By watching live videos you learn...I went to concert and knew everything...so its not difficult...Even our local baseball team (Hanshin Tigers) has a song for every batter and different ways you smack your little plastic baseball bats together... Japanese people are crazy!!! Fun!!!!

Those are momo's growls. It was great confirmation that she could in fact growl, and that it was her growling in Metali. It's a big deal as she can satisfy the "scream" part of her role as "dance and scream". Of course, we get to hear her growl again in Ratatata. It's another tool in their chest of things they can bring out and enhance what they're doing. As for this compilation, it was nice when it came out originally as we didn't have a full version of Momobanger to watch, but now that the real version is out, this is "meh". Compilations are fine if you understand this group and know who they are. You're a bit newer and still learning, so the confusion comes a lot quicker. Good luck finding a good version of Yuibanger, if you're so inclined. And Moabanger is just as awesome in a different way. Anyway, I am enjoying your BabyMetal content and there's plenty of other great Japanese bands out there if that's a direction you want to go in.
Glad to see you back! As others have said, if you want unofficial videos, you are probably best sticking with the For the Fox God channel. That is a channel that really cares about quality.f As for Patreon tiers, I personally suggest not keeping videos private to Patreon. Post them there unblurred and let the $10 members vote and watch live and early. Post a week or two later here. That way, you get more good content for this channel that feels a bit different than other content and the TH-cam viewers don't feel like second class citizens. I say this especially because you are currently so devoted to just the two bands you have been watching and your current channel subscribers would probably be kind of upset if you reacted to any "important" videos there in the private feed. This will become especially an issue, I think, as you start to move through the majority of the well-known content. The patreon could also probably help you find some other bands to listen to. If a reaction goes over well there, then it might be a good one to post here a week or two later. That could be true if you really hate something, which may result in a good one-off reaction. It would also end up being great if you end up liking something and want to start watching more of that band/group here. Again, your existing audience won't miss out then just because they may not be able to afford to join. To me, something along those lines feel like one of the best ways to both give something to the patrons while still helping you grow the community here. Also, something else that I've seen some reactors do is grant full access to watch some videos on Patreon for everyone if it gets too restricted here. That hopefully wouldn't need to happen often, but it would also give someone considering joining the Patreon something to see there to help understand the added value.
David heretic has a $1 tier so that you can watch any of his videos that get blocked for just a dollar. Thats really a good deal if you don't want to spend a ton of money and just watch the videos. The higher tiers get to vote and make requests. It's a logical way to do thinga.

Nice reaction. At least the audio is all from a single performance. You can hear SU-METAL's lead vocals at the start with the other two doing backing vocals. Then SU-METAL passes the mic to MOMOMETAL to finish the song, so you get just her voice. At this point SU-METAL doesn't have a mic, so all the backing vocals are just MOAMETAL. (Sometimes the backing vocals are pre-recorded, but that's not the case here - you can clearly hear the differences.) People dislike compilations because they confuse people reacting to them. 😁They can also contain spoilers by including key footage from special shows. Some are better made than others and there are some tracks that work fine cutting footage from multiple shows - this isn't one of them. The reason they exist is because you cannot get full uncut footage from most live releases on to TH-cam without the risk of a copyright strike, so this is the work around. For this specific version of Headbanger, this is your only choice to get a reaction on TH-cam. BABYMETAL have only released four studio albums and a compilation in just over a decade, but have released live albums for just about every tour, so live video is where they are making a lot of money. They have to be tough on copyright infringement to protect their income, so they are not going to allow people to watch unedited footage of significant moments free of charge. Their most recent live show is about to hit cinema screens around the world - they need to make as much as possible from these shows to offset the costs of staging them. This kind of thing isn't unique to BABYMETAL - it's very common for all Japanese artists and in some cases extends to MVs, as they are sold on special editions of albums with a premium price. Reacting to Japanese music can be high risk, so ensure you have all of your material backed up away from TH-cam If I were in your shoes, I'd be contacting some other TH-cam channels that do reactions to ask how they run things - equipment, platforms, approximate costs vs. income, anything to help you make informed choices. I know a lot of folk covering Japanese music now live stream on Twitch for an easier time with copyright, which would suit your one take reaction format quite well. They edit their live streams to get clips for TH-cam, so they can cover both platforms while minimising the time commitment. Plenty of opportunities to get micro payments for those equipment upgrades. Personally, I think your current video and audio is fine, although a better mic would certainly improve the sound of your voice. If your computer is struggling to process video, that's where I'd spend the money as it'll probably make the biggest difference for you.

There was a LOT of difficulty from the community trying to get this one up online. (As far as I understand.) So the compilation, and the changes in playback speed. (I feel it went to 90% of normal speed.) Hearing Momometal take the main mic was the point, even if the video had to be switched up for copyright. (Hence your natural confusion.) Also: Compilations vs Live vs Live Official vs M/V: (IMO) Actual Live, mistakes and all, are by far the best. Live Official is almost always a video of a live concert with the studio audio synced up. That's good. Compilations are usually kinda meh but sometimes it's all one can get away with. The actual M/V's are hit and miss, and only a couple are revered throughout The One. (Doki Doki Morning, Karate, Megitsune, iine) Also Also: The M/V for Ijime Dame Zettai is perhaps the worst possible choice for that song. I hope you get around to doing the Legend of 1997 version of Headbanger. It's probably the most iconic performance of this song because it was Su-metals 16th birthday show. This entire concert was presented as a rock opera of sorts because it represented the transformation of Su from an idol princess to a metal goddess. Culminating with a performance of "Babymetal Death" which was an epic and memorable theatrical version of that song 🦊🤘
Yay, you're back! Yeah, it sort of sucks this compilation was so shoddily put together - it's a huge issue in the Babymetal world in that there are loads of fans who throw these things together and upload them so it's difficult for newcomers to select the best versions of things to react to. It's a shame as some creators like Kitsunesama and Who? make excellent ones but then there are dumpster fires like this one, ha.

if you heard Headbanger for the first time you started in the wrong order, you need to watch the Legend 1997 first, which is the original then the Legend M (Moa Is taking the mike) then the Legend MM . Congrats on finally getting to this one. The video cuts between Su performing Headbanger and the Momobanger version, but the audio is Momobanger. You can tell which is which because the girls are wearing the black outfits in the Su performance, while they're wearing their modern, colorful outfits for Momo's version. Compilations are okay, but I think the original video is always better. It really comes down to what you enjoy; if you're okay with a compilation and can't find a regular video, then go for it. Otherwise, avoiding them is probably better.

You definitely need to see prev versions of this song (you don't have to do it on camera, tho of course we'd love to see it - new version = new reaction...for reals, we dig it. Hell, even a different video for this version would count). Headbanger has a long history. This is just a hideous compilation of this super special version of the song. (We don't love compilations because they are usually just poorly done. There are some good ones, tho. And some songs can only be found in compilation form, so of course they get a pass.) Yeah, this compilation sucks (although there are quite decent ones out there) but the song and Momo's performance are amazing. 🙂 Her screams are so cool (and I usually don't really like screaming).
This is a tough one to get past the blocks, which is why the compilation exists, so don't be too down about it. The lore before the song is really cool though, and worth checking out on your own time.

As you said, they splice together different moments that throws off the whole feeling... it's not a music video, so it shouldn't be compiled, in my opinion. For example, in this one: Momo sings the lead exclusively after her big growl, even though it shows Su's mouth moving again. Su is shown with her microphone scepter after she passes it to Momo. Nonsense editing like that is what rubs me the wrong way, heh. That said, your reaction is A-OK! I'm here for the reactions and to enjoy my favorite stuff again with a new fan, so no matter how you do it (compilations, bands, live vs music video, etc), I'm all in. BTW if you listen to the original vs this version, you may notice the lyric "ichigo no yoru wo" becomes "hatachi no yoru wo." That's because the original song is about turning 15 (ichigo (yes it can also mean "strawberry" but it's "ichi, go," or "1, 5," in this case)) and the Moa/Momo versions are about turning 20 (hatachi). The real name thing shouldn't be a problem. In your Patreon settings (under "connected apps") you link your existing Discord account.. so if you have a Discord account using your nickname.. then it won't automatically make you a new Discord account under your real name and log you in etc. But if Abi is making patreon supporter credits for future videos, then yeah - you should definitely give her a heads-up for that 👍

The confusion that compilations create is why I think it doesn't suit reaction channels. You can only enjoy compilations when you already know what you're watching.

Same song, different video, different effect. "Monochrome" is the best example for that. Three versions, three outcomes (love the live, but also love the f1rst take vers., for very different reasons). In case of "Momobanger" it´s a bit difficult, as you already listened to the correct live audio. Just the video part was so messed up with this compilation...
There's a Momobanger from the MM concert that's the produced video from BM. But also there's Moabanger. There's also a Yuibanger. I had to watch the OG's first. ❤🦊
heh, not to worry. I will explain for you. That feeling of frustrated confusion you felt is what most viewers (not me) hate about the compilations. This was a one off performance for Momo's 21st birthday where she performed the second half of the song. the other concert clips edited in showing Su were just showing how the song usually is performed with Su as lead vocal and Moa and Momo doing dance and backing. the song itself is basically telling the story of a young girls first experience at a metal concert on her 15th (or 20th) birthday and how she will cherish the memory of it since it will never come again and she will grow to be a woman after this night. This is essentially a rite of passage song for rocker chicks.
I have no problem with compilations at all even if I prefer originals. This one is a nonsense tho, can't understand why to make a compliation of something that only heappened once
I think almost everyone would prefer to suggest the originals for reactions. The only problem is that we then get to see the same song reactions over and over again, because so many good concerts and songs are blocked as originals. That's why I can't understand notorious compilation haters at all. This specific one, however, is really very confusing. I would rather have shown the audience in moa's part than Su. Nevertheless, I am grateful to the creator.
In general I don't mind the compilation videos. But a bad editing is always bad editing. As far as I've understood, the official videos on the BM channel are always studio audio on top of a performance which is not a good option either. As others have said, there are people who make good compilations as a middle ground.

I have never clicked on a video in my feed faster in my life! lol... TY for reacting to this one! (PS: My thoughts/suggestions on patreon further down if you don't want to read my wall of text lol. I have ADHD and an endless pot of coffee, its a problem XD) OH NO! lol... like a minute in, and I realized it's THIS comp... This one is unfortunately one of the notoriously bad compilations available on youtube lol. It doesn't match the vocals to the correct singer, and tends to jump around a lot. This is especially egregious because this cut was done to a special concert for Momo's 21st birthday (Birthday shows are pretty sacred for the BM fanbase). Everyone in the foxhole went ballistic when this cut gained steam on youtube lol. I want to stress though, this is NOT your fault lol. A LOT of react channels fell prey to this exact comp when trying to react to Momobanger. If anything I feel awful for you... It has to suck to be making a video and halfway through a first-react take you realize the content you're reacting to has been butchered. You did you job perfectly, and the original uploader of the footage did you dirty. To clear up some confusion, the entire last half was led by Momo, and the uncut concert footage is phenomenal to the point where it's in most of 'the other one's" top 3 clipped performances. (I don't know how deep you are into the babymetal lingo, but 'the one's' or 'the other one's' refer to babymetal fans). You have every right to be pissed at being duped by the uploader lol. I know I was when I watched this a while back. Idk wtf they were thinking putting something this bad together. Even if you don't post a reaction to it, I highly recommend hunting down the original cut. Su seamlessly floats into choreography and Momo looks a little anxious and emotional taking the mic. It's great. As to future compilations... They're so often bad that it's hard to say lol. There ARE some that are well done and label themselves properly as compilations though, so really I think that asking a third party superfan to watch the content first and letting you know if it's good would be a good call. For the other one's it's not really a matter of it being a comp or not, it's usually about how badly the comps are done. >< My thoughts on your Patreon. YES girl, YES! lol. I think your tiers and what you're offering are perfect. The ONLY change I'd reccomend is with your discord. Access shouldn't limited to just Patreon as discord is an incredible community building tool. You'd be hobbling yourself. Hi Abi, don't stress about the compilation videos, they are a necessary evil. Babymetal protect a lot of their videos, especially if they have significant moments in them, like Momobanger or Moabanger, Shine from the Legend MM concert, or if the video has significance in a story arc for Babymetal lore, like 'In The Name Of' from the Legend S Concert, as examples. It's understandable, these are the moments that sell DVDs or Blu-Rays and contribute significant income for the band/production company. There are many good compilation videos out there and also some that aren't particularly good. This was in the latter category. However, the choice is often one of whether you record the original of a protected song and send it straight to Patreon, which is not ideal because only your paying members get to see it, which slows the growth of your channel, or you use a compilation video and not get the full experience of the original. Neither solution is perfect. However, most Babymetal fans will tolerate compilation videos as they already know the song and are really here to support you and see your reaction. Now, if you opt to record a protected version of a song and end up having to mask it heavily, most fans don't enjoy that as even though they are here to support you, their time is valuable to them and sitting through three minutes of blacked out video is not enjoyable, or a good use of their time from their perspective. One way to get around this dilemma is to use 'shorts' to let your followers know which song you are wanting to record and ask for safe videos, even if they are better quality compilations and people will point you in the right direction. This will lead to a little more work for you but should stop you from getting a poorly edited compilation video, or having your video blocked or getting a copyright strike.

These videos are heavily copyrighted because Amuse (the record lable) wants to sell the Bluerays from the concerts. They have not released videos from this concert officially on YT, this is ripped from bluerays. I personally don't mind the compilations, here for your reaction mostly. Watch the original Headdbanger and you will know how Su full version sounds, makes it easier to distinct this stupid compilation video, Moa and Momo only doing Headbanger on their birthdays basically (this was Momo's 20th birthday), otherwise it is only Su singing, so these are very special, therefore Amuse wants to milk the *beep* out of it...

Lol, that confusion with Su vs Momo singing was part of why it's usually best to check the original version of Headbanger first. Momo really changed up the way it was performed and makes it very obvious she sings. I think with this performance, I don't think there is really an upload that isn't a comp due to the copyright stuff. But this comp seemed very odd... did it slow down and speed up there? I think most don't mind compilation videos, the only problem is there are some VERY bad comps and it is hard to know which ones are good. Some completely throw off the choreography and doesn't do the song justice. Nevertheless, the audio is usually all live and a single track so it can somewhat be saved. In the end, I think most people watching will (should) just be happy for you to enjoy the dive. Just if you react to a comp and don't like it, give another live version a chance on your own time :) Hope your recovery continues well and congrats on the 1.5k!

Congrats on 1.5k! The thing with compilatons is that well edited ones can be benign and totally fine but bad ones can be confusing as hell (like this one). I suspect this one was edited like this to avoid copyright strikes (the Legend MM concert is very new and I'm sure Amuse has their claws out fully regarding it). But IMO it would have made more sense to just cut to crowd shots or whatever instead of using footage of Su singing over the audio of Momo singing. These performances are extremely rare, done in celebration of Moa's and Momo's birthdays (highly recommend checking out Moabanger too). The normal Headbanger has Su singing exclusively and is also one of their classic must-watch videos.
"For The Fox God" is where you need to go for the best Babymetal videos. That channel has the full Momobanger, just put a watermark on it if it gets blocked :) This vis is all F up lol, the song slows down (for whatever reason) and the compilation just doesnt work at all. If I were you, Id go check out (For The Fox God) Momobanger. But you said you wont because youre a one take channel, witch I dont understand or think is a good idea, but thats you,,, Theres several videos youll miss because of that... You should definitely check out the recently posted video from the DVD from The Fox God channel (just for yourself) so you can see Momo's whole performance. I'm not bothered by compilations too much but you do miss out on full choreography because of the cuts and if it's a special performance like this one it does lose impact.

Yeah, not a fan of compilations at all - for exactly this reason, it gets too confusing. I think this may be an especially bad one as I don't remember seeing them ever mess about with the tempo in one before like that.. yikes 😵 If I may make a suggestion: a relatively prolific reaction channel "David Heretic" has his lowest Patreon tier set to $1 purely as it gives access to any reactions uploaded that can't get past copyright on youtube. This liberates him in a way to focus on authentic videos to react to.. as if they get hit.. it's easy to justify supporting him to see them there. Compilations often get made as they get past the originals they are composed of being easy to use on youtube.. I can see what people are trying to do, but I always just find them a mess to look at.. and the less casual reaction channels who pay attention to the artists on stage tend to find the same problems with them (I'm saying they are for more LOW LEVEL reactors than your good self haha) In this case.. you can react to the proper authentic videos (and BABYMETAL has a crapton of them from loads of live blurays).. and if it struggles to go up on youtube.. you can just have a short upload or community post saying the full thing is on the patreon. Obviously $5/month isn't much either.. but I support 38 accounts on Patreon already so ya know.. it kinda adds up.. but another $1/month would be a no-brainer. Maybe have the credits stuff for $5 and $10? Anyway, just a suggestion This is their song Headbanger!! (Heddobangya-!!) which is one of their oldest songs. This one is poorly put together compared to other ones I've seen other ones all you see different usually is the outfits and sometimes a camera view that clearly doesn't fit and different locations but it's always clear who's on the mic i don't mind these but it bothers me when it shows two different things going on

This is one of the compilations that I passionately dislike, just for the reasons you just experienced. It’s highly confusing, but what‘s even worse: This whole performance is Momo‘s great moment, and at least half the time when she sings, we blatantly get to see Su. Who does something like that? Is it really so great to be able to call oneself the editor of a video that it‘s worth unleashing such a messy piece of work unto the world? Not your fault, of course! :-)

But for someone to react for the 1st time, it can be confusing. So I suggest AVOID compilation. That specific compilation is a mess even for us fans. Have seen better ones. It was Su singing for the 1st half of the song up until the bowing/worshipping part. Then Su switch to Momo and it was her singing and screaming till the end of the song. Headbanger is one of Babymetal's biggest hits. Usually Su is the only singer, but there are special versions for girls' birthdays where Su sings the first half of the song and Moa or Momo sings the second half.
Personally, I think the best experience is to watch the regular version of Headbanger first (Headbanger legend 1997 is the best version, with Su, Moa and Yui) and then watch Moabanger and finally Momobanger.

There's also fancam of Yuibanger from 2014. The quality is low but the kawaii is off the charts.
I was there to see Momobanger live and we were all blown away by it. I was right in front of the stage extension between the stage and the AV desk, so I had the perfect view. We expected that it would be good, but I don't think anyone expected that Momo's interpretation would be so unique. The combination of Momo's kawaii vocals along with the death growls was really something extra.
There are various online guides that explain what the actions and chants are, and there are several fan clubs as well. Mostly you can just go along and follow along with what everyone else is doing since it's not that complicated.
This video has cuts from a few different performances interspersed with the Momobanger performance. It was necessary to get around the copyright, as there is only one performance of Momobanger to take video from. This particular compilation is kind of ass, but some other compilations are alright. It really depends on the particular video. You could use the community tab to announce which song you want to do next, and we can post videos of good performances of that song you can react to.
What is happening is probably more clear if you watch Moabanger, since they did the same thing at that show as well. Basically, Su sang the first part, they she handed off the mic to Momo for the second part. Everything you heard after Su handed off the mic was Momo on lead vocals.

On compilations: I HATE THEM WITH A PASSION!! But, I still enjoyed your reaction. For context: Legend MM was released Jul 10th on BluRay, so anything from this show is especially tough for TH-camrs to post for obvious reasons until ~1 month ago. Hence the compilations.
I suggest you just use videos from *For the Fox God* channel. Why? Full concert footage in HD for each song, with actual live audio, subtitles, and NOT compilations. Best unofficial live video channel for anything Babymetal thus far, period.

I mean... Sorta? The community does have, like, guides to interact in shows. You gotta remember that BABYMETAL is a whole act, the conjoined effort of a huge staff of people hitting their marks down to the milimeter, knowing our part is a way to be part of it and put in at least a sliver of the work they put every show. It was Momo, there is for this song the original was Su but for their birthdays there are versions with Yui, Moa, and this one Momo, so there is 4 different versions of this song, Not sure if anyone broke it down for you, but the song is about a teen girls very first metal concert experience, basically breaking one’s metal virginity

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but while I'm fine with about 90% of the compilations (particularly since they're made to get around the horrible automated TH-cam copyright nonsense) this one is probably the only one I absolutely hate. Whereas with most compilations it's not TOO bad because generally Su is doing all of the singing so the focus is on her regardless of the venue the song is performed in, this version of Headbanger was Momo's time to shine and whomever made the compilation should NEVER have had shots of Su singing with Momo's voice. It borders on disrespectful.
Just so it's clear, the fault does not lie with you as you could have had no way of knowing. I'm so happy you were able to see the "better" version in a later video.
Sadly I can't become a Patreon due to a complete lack of disposable income so I don't know whether or not you've already covered Momo Taro (Momo's performance of Meta Taro) but I definitely recommend it. It's a fun song (apparently one of Su's favorites) and Momo bears her fangs again. It's fantastic.

It is a fairly simple, fun and bouncy song and the singing duties in Momo's version are split between Momo and Su pretty equally in the Live version much like they were here in Momobanger. Juxtaposition of growl and overly cutesy (intentionally anime-like) voice by Momometal. That is new ammunition of BABYMETAL. Momoko cannon loaded with sheer dark explosives and a warhead made of shiny and bubbly metal. I witnessed this performance and got crushed into pieces, smilingly of course, at the venue. Everybody there was also honored to have a chance to celebrate Momoko's last day of her 20 years of age.

Great reaction ... but you understand now why we recommend you don't do first reactions with compilation videos. We want you to have the best possible experience the first time you see and hear a new song and some compilations are just really confusing so you're trying to work out what is going on rather than enjoying the performance.
Some are OK, but every now and then you get one that has been put together really badly - sadly this is one of those.
The only good thing (apart from your reaction of course, that is always good) was that the audio was all from Legend MM (Momometal's 21st birthday concerts), so it was all Momometal's vocals and screams for the second half of the song after Su handed her the mic and stand.

Have been missing you AbiMetal. Glad to see you are back. Congrats on your 1500. MomoBanger, one of my favorites to showcase Momo. You are correct, it is Momo, the compilation can mess with your mind and experience, that is why people are against them. The compilations on "for the fox god" channel is the best ones, so I would advice to use those. The reason for the compilations is to combat copyright.
My opinion on pateron: the tier 2. some people will be angry about the " It's just for you!" exclusivity. One way to combat that, is: do tier 2, with all the perks you have described already, but also release the reaction on YT later, as a patreon member react vod kind of deal. I believe there will be pushback on the exclusivity deal.

Unfortunately, that is the only way to get new and one off performances past copyright. Some are just bad and some just suck (like this one). You should trust your ears when you have to use a compilation. You said yourself that you know what Su-metal sounds like. The more you listen and get to know Momoa (Momo and Moa), the easier it will be to distinguish who is singing. Watching interviews and their Sakura Gakuin materiel will help speed things up. The compilation for this one is a bit odd, normally they are fine to show the band in various locations and it's fun, but where it's breaking context in this it can be distracting. That said the real fun of this performance is Momo growls, brilliant, and fun watching!

Those are momo's growls. It was great confirmation that she could in fact growl, and that it was her growling in Metali. It's a big deal as she can satisfy the "scream" part of her role as "dance and scream". Of course, we get to hear her growl again in Ratatata. It's another tool in their chest of things they can bring out and enhance what they're doing.
As for this compilation, it was nice when it came out originally as we didn't have a full version of Momobanger to watch, but now that the real version is out, this is "meh". Compilations are fine if you understand this group and know who they are. You're a bit newer and still learning, so the confusion comes a lot quicker.
Good luck finding a good version of Yuibanger, if you're so inclined. And Moabanger is just as awesome in a different way.
Anyway, I am enjoying your BabyMetal content and there's plenty of other great Japanese bands out there if that's a direction you want to go in.

Glad to see you back! As others have said, if you want unofficial videos, you are probably best sticking with the For the Fox God channel. That is a channel that really cares about quality.f
As for Patreon tiers, I personally suggest not keeping videos private to Patreon. Post them there unblurred and let the $10 members vote and watch live and early. Post a week or two later here. That way, you get more good content for this channel that feels a bit different than other content and the TH-cam viewers don't feel like second class citizens. I say this especially because you are currently so devoted to just the two bands you have been watching and your current channel subscribers would probably be kind of upset if you reacted to any "important" videos there in the private feed. This will become especially an issue, I think, as you start to move through the majority of the well-known content.
The patreon could also probably help you find some other bands to listen to. If a reaction goes over well there, then it might be a good one to post here a week or two later. That could be true if you really hate something, which may result in a good one-off reaction. It would also end up being great if you end up liking something and want to start watching more of that band/group here. Again, your existing audience won't miss out then just because they may not be able to afford to join.
To me, something along those lines feel like one of the best ways to both give something to the patrons while still helping you grow the community here. Also, something else that I've seen some reactors do is grant full access to watch some videos on Patreon for everyone if it gets too restricted here. That hopefully wouldn't need to happen often, but it would also give someone considering joining the Patreon something to see there to help understand the added value.
David heretic has a $1 tier so that you can watch any of his videos that get blocked for just a dollar. Thats really a good deal if you don't want to spend a ton of money and just watch the videos. The higher tiers get to vote and make requests. It's a logical way to do thinga.

Nice reaction. At least the audio is all from a single performance. You can hear SU-METAL's lead vocals at the start with the other two doing backing vocals. Then SU-METAL passes the mic to MOMOMETAL to finish the song, so you get just her voice. At this point SU-METAL doesn't have a mic, so all the backing vocals are just MOAMETAL. (Sometimes the backing vocals are pre-recorded, but that's not the case here - you can clearly hear the differences.)
People dislike compilations because they confuse people reacting to them. 😁They can also contain spoilers by including key footage from special shows. Some are better made than others and there are some tracks that work fine cutting footage from multiple shows - this isn't one of them. The reason they exist is because you cannot get full uncut footage from most live releases on to TH-cam without the risk of a copyright strike, so this is the work around. For this specific version of Headbanger, this is your only choice to get a reaction on TH-cam. BABYMETAL have only released four studio albums and a compilation in just over a decade, but have released live albums for just about every tour, so live video is where they are making a lot of money. They have to be tough on copyright infringement to protect their income, so they are not going to allow people to watch unedited footage of significant moments free of charge. Their most recent live show is about to hit cinema screens around the world - they need to make as much as possible from these shows to offset the costs of staging them. This kind of thing isn't unique to BABYMETAL - it's very common for all Japanese artists and in some cases extends to MVs, as they are sold on special editions of albums with a premium price. Reacting to Japanese music can be high risk, so ensure you have all of your material backed up away from TH-cam
If I were in your shoes, I'd be contacting some other TH-cam channels that do reactions to ask how they run things - equipment, platforms, approximate costs vs. income, anything to help you make informed choices. I know a lot of folk covering Japanese music now live stream on Twitch for an easier time with copyright, which would suit your one take reaction format quite well. They edit their live streams to get clips for TH-cam, so they can cover both platforms while minimising the time commitment. Plenty of opportunities to get micro payments for those equipment upgrades. Personally, I think your current video and audio is fine, although a better mic would certainly improve the sound of your voice. If your computer is struggling to process video, that's where I'd spend the money as it'll probably make the biggest difference for you.

There was a LOT of difficulty from the community trying to get this one up online. (As far as I understand.) So the compilation, and the changes in playback speed. (I feel it went to 90% of normal speed.)
Hearing Momometal take the main mic was the point, even if the video had to be switched up for copyright. (Hence your natural confusion.)
Also: Compilations vs Live vs Live Official vs M/V: (IMO)
Actual Live, mistakes and all, are by far the best. Live Official is almost always a video of a live concert with the studio audio synced up. That's good. Compilations are usually kinda meh but sometimes it's all one can get away with. The actual M/V's are hit and miss, and only a couple are revered throughout The One. (Doki Doki Morning, Karate, Megitsune, iine)
Also Also: The M/V for Ijime Dame Zettai is perhaps the worst possible choice for that song. It's a charmingly bad piece of BM history, perhaps... but just about ANY other option for IDZ is better~

I hope you get around to doing the Legend of 1997 version of Headbanger. It's probably the most iconic performance of this song because it was Su-metals 16th birthday show. This entire concert was presented as a rock opera of sorts because it represented the transformation of Su from an idol princess to a metal goddess. Culminating with a performance of "Babymetal Death" which was an epic and memorable theatrical version of that song 🦊🤘

Yeah, it sort of sucks this compilation was so shoddily put together - it's a huge issue in the Babymetal world in that there are loads of fans who throw these things together and upload them so it's difficult for newcomers to select the best versions of things to react to. if you heard Headbanger for the first time you started in the wrong order, you need to watch the Legend 1997 first, which is the original then the Legend M (Moa Is taking the mike) then the Legend MM . For the compilations, this is the worst one , but if you want god quality videos with subtitles for Babymetal go to For The Fox God channel. Nice reaction #NotaCult

Congrats on finally getting to this one. The video cuts between Su performing Headbanger and the Momobanger version, but the audio is Momobanger. You can tell which is which because the girls are wearing the black outfits in the Su performance, while they're wearing their modern, colorful outfits for Momo's version.
Compilations are okay, but I think the original video is always better. It really comes down to what you enjoy; if you're okay with a compilation and can't find a regular video, then go for it. Otherwise, avoiding them is probably better.
This would be a last resort for me for sure!

(We don't love compilations because they are usually just poorly done. There are some good ones, tho. And some songs can only be found in compilation form, so of course they get a pass.) Personally I don't like the compilations. As you said, they splice together different moments that throws off the whole feeling... it's not a music video, so it shouldn't be compiled, in my opinion. For example, in this one: Momo sings the lead exclusively after her big growl, even though it shows Su's mouth moving again. Su is shown with her microphone scepter after she passes it to Momo. Nonsense editing like that is what rubs me the wrong way, heh.
That said, your reaction is A-OK! I'm here for the reactions and to enjoy my favorite stuff again with a new fan, so no matter how you do it (compilations, bands, live vs music video, etc), I'm all in. Also, glad you're feeling better! Don't hesitate to put your health first in the future, just like you did this time. We'll still be here when you're good to go.
BTW if you listen to the original vs this version, you may notice the lyric "ichigo no yoru wo" becomes "hatachi no yoru wo." That's because the original song is about turning 15 (ichigo (yes it can also mean "strawberry" but it's "ichi, go," or "1, 5," in this case)) and the Moa/Momo versions are about turning 20 (hatachi).

The real name thing shouldn't be a problem. In your Patreon settings (under "connected apps") you link your existing Discord account.. so if you have a Discord account using your nickname.. then it won't automatically make you a new Discord account under your real name and log you in etc.
But if Abi is making patreon supporter credits for future videos, then yeah - you should definitely give her a heads-up for that 👍

heh, not to worry. I will explain for you. That feeling of frustrated confusion you felt is what most viewers (not me) hate about the compilations. This was a one off performance for Momo's 21st birthday where she performed the second half of the song. the other concert clips edited in showing Su were just showing how the song usually is performed with Su as lead vocal and Moa and Momo doing dance and backing. the song itself is basically telling the story of a young girls first experience at a metal concert on her 15th (or 20th) birthday and how she will cherish the memory of it since it will never come again and she will grow to be a woman after this night. This is essentially a rite of passage song for rocker chicks.
I have no problem with compilations at all even if I prefer originals. This one is a nonsense tho, can't understand why to make a compliation of something that only heappened once
I think almost everyone would prefer to suggest the originals for reactions. The only problem is that we then get to see the same song reactions over and over again, because so many good concerts and songs are blocked as originals.
That's why I can't understand notorious compilation haters at all.
This specific one, however, is really very confusing. I would rather have shown the audience in moa's part than Su. Nevertheless, I am grateful to the creator.

In general I don't mind the compilation videos. But a bad editing is always bad editing. As far as I've understood, the official videos on the BM channel are always studio audio on top of a performance which is not a good option either. As others have said, there are people who make good compilations as a middle ground.

OH NO! lol... like a minute in, and I realized it's THIS comp...
This one is unfortunately one of the notoriously bad compilations available on youtube lol. It doesn't match the vocals to the correct singer, and tends to jump around a lot. This is especially egregious because this cut was done to a special concert for Momo's 21st birthday (Birthday shows are pretty sacred for the BM fanbase). Everyone in the foxhole went ballistic when this cut gained steam on youtube lol.
I want to stress though, this is NOT your fault lol. A LOT of react channels fell prey to this exact comp when trying to react to Momobanger.
If anything I feel awful for you... It has to suck to be making a video and halfway through a first-react take you realize the content you're reacting to has been butchered. You did you job perfectly, and the original uploader of the footage did you dirty.
To clear up some confusion, the entire last half was led by Momo, and the uncut concert footage is phenomenal to the point where it's in most of 'the other one's" top 3 clipped performances. (I don't know how deep you are into the babymetal lingo, but 'the one's' or 'the other one's' refer to babymetal fans). You have every right to be pissed at being duped by the uploader lol. I know I was when I watched this a while back. Idk wtf they were thinking putting something this bad together.
Even if you don't post a reaction to it, I highly recommend hunting down the original cut. Su seamlessly floats into choreography and Momo looks a little anxious and emotional taking the mic. It's great.
As to future compilations... They're so often bad that it's hard to say lol. There ARE some that are well done and label themselves properly as compilations though, so really I think that asking a third party superfan to watch the content first and letting you know if it's good would be a good call. For the other one's it's not really a matter of it being a comp or not, it's usually about how badly the comps are done.

I think your tiers and what you're offering are perfect. The ONLY change I'd reccomend is with your discord. Access shouldn't limited to just Patreon as discord is an incredible community building tool. You'd be hobbling yourself. You CAN however, lock off certain areas within your discord to 5 and 10 dollar subscribers. This helps you build your community and incentivizes people to chip in on the patreon plans to gain access to those channels.
How I would do it is as follows.

Hi Abi, don't stress about the compilation videos, they are a necessary evil. Babymetal protect a lot of their videos, especially if they have significant moments in them, like Momobanger or Moabanger, Shine from the Legend MM concert, or if the video has significance in a story arc for Babymetal lore, like 'In The Name Of' from the Legend S Concert, as examples. It's understandable, these are the moments that sell DVDs or Blu-Rays and contribute significant income for the band/production company.
There are many good compilation videos out there and also some that aren't particularly good. This was in the latter category. However, the choice is often one of whether you record the original of a protected song and send it straight to Patreon, which is not ideal because only your paying members get to see it, which slows the growth of your channel, or you use a compilation video and not get the full experience of the original. Neither solution is perfect. However, most Babymetal fans will tolerate compilation videos as they already know the song and are really here to support you and see your reaction. Now, if you opt to record a protected version of a song and end up having to mask it heavily, most fans don't enjoy that as even though they are here to support you, their time is valuable to them and sitting through three minutes of blacked out video is not enjoyable, or a good use of their time from their perspective.
One way to get around this dilemma is to use 'shorts' to let your followers know which song you are wanting to record and ask for safe videos, even if they are better quality compilations and people will point you in the right direction. This will lead to a little more work for you but should stop you from getting a poorly edited compilation video, or having your video blocked or getting a copyright strike.
Right! For me it's hard to tell which compilation is the better one. In this case, it was no bueno. But I'll ask for links from now on, they're super helpful and takes the stress off me haha 😄

These videos are heavily copyrighted because Amuse (the record lable) wants to sell the Bluerays from the concerts. They have not released videos from this concert officially on YT, this is ripped from bluerays. I personally don't mind the compilations, here for your reaction mostly.
Watch the original Headdbanger and you will know how Su full version sounds, makes it easier to distinct this stupid compilation video, Moa and Momo only doing Headbanger on their birthdays basically (this was Momo's 20th birthday), otherwise it is only Su singing, so these are very special, therefore Amuse wants to milk the *beep* out of it...

Lol, that confusion with Su vs Momo singing was part of why it's usually best to check the original version of Headbanger first. Momo really changed up the way it was performed and makes it very obvious she sings. I think with this performance, I don't think there is really an upload that isn't a comp due to the copyright stuff. But this comp seemed very odd... did it slow down and speed up there?
I think most don't mind compilation videos, the only problem is there are some VERY bad comps and it is hard to know which ones are good. Some completely throw off the choreography and doesn't do the song justice. Nevertheless, the audio is usually all live and a single track so it can somewhat be saved. In the end, I think most people watching will (should) just be happy for you to enjoy the dive. Just if you react to a comp and don't like it, give another live version a chance on your own time :)

Congrats on 1.5k! The thing with compilatons is that well edited ones can be benign and totally fine but bad ones can be confusing as hell (like this one). I suspect this one was edited like this to avoid copyright strikes (the Legend MM concert is very new and I'm sure Amuse has their claws out fully regarding it). But IMO it would have made more sense to just cut to crowd shots or whatever instead of using footage of Su singing over the audio of Momo singing.
These performances are extremely rare, done in celebration of Moa's and Momo's birthdays (highly recommend checking out Moabanger too). The normal Headbanger has Su singing exclusively and is also one of their classic must-watch videos.

"For The Fox God" is where you need to go for the best Babymetal videos. That channel has the full Momobanger, just put a watermark on it if it gets blocked :) This vis is all F up lol, the song slows down (for whatever reason) and the compilation just doesnt work at all. If I were you, Id go check out (For The Fox God) Momobanger. Yeah, not a fan of compilations at all - for exactly this reason, it gets too confusing. I think this may be an especially bad one as I don't remember seeing them ever mess about with the tempo in one before like that.. yikes 😵
If I may make a suggestion: a relatively prolific reaction channel "David Heretic" has his lowest Patreon tier set to $1 purely as it gives access to any reactions uploaded that can't get past copyright on youtube. This liberates him in a way to focus on authentic videos to react to.. as if they get hit.. it's easy to justify supporting him to see them there. Compilations often get made as they get past the originals they are composed of being easy to use on youtube.. I can see what people are trying to do, but I always just find them a mess to look at.. and the less casual reaction channels who pay attention to the artists on stage tend to find the same problems with them (I'm saying they are for more LOW LEVEL reactors than your good self haha)
In this case.. you can react to the proper authentic videos (and BABYMETAL has a crapton of them from loads of live blurays).. and if it struggles to go up on youtube.. you can just have a short upload or community post saying the full thing is on the patreon. Obviously $5/month isn't much either.. but I support 38 accounts on Patreon already so ya know.. it kinda adds up.. but another $1/month would be a no-brainer. Maybe have the credits stuff for $5 and $10? Anyway, just a suggestion
This is their song Headbanger!! (Heddobangya-!!) which is one of their oldest songs. At various special times Moa/Momo/Yui (who you have yet to meet I think) have on rare occasions taken over the mic in this song and for fun the fans have modified the song name each time to indicate that 🎤
It's the first time I have heard of a school for BABYMETAL fans lol - but the girls originated from a kind of televised Sunday school called Sakura Gakuin (cherry blossom school).. so maybe some wires got crossed there? This is one of the compilations that I passionately dislike, just for the reasons you just experienced. It’s highly confusing, but what‘s even worse: This whole performance is Momo‘s great moment, and at least half the time when she sings, we blatantly get to see Su. Who does something like that? Is it really so great to be able to call oneself the editor of a video that it‘s worth unleashing such a messy piece of work unto the world?
