- In this video I will show you how to add a digital gauge cluster to your older BMW! I install a digital gauge cluster on my E90 BMW. This will fit various models like the E82, E60, E70 etc. This adds the look of a modern G series BMW to your E series car. They look just like the G20 or G80 M3.
This video is a DIY on how to install the hardware along with a review of it. You see me going through the menus and the various themes of the cluster.

Does it support e92 m3? Specifically DCT shift speeds, and auto start stop? Ideally I can set my own redline to match tune and also is it open source? I'm an engineer so I'd love to contribute.

With the F 30 does it work with your head up display? Are there any functions that you lose sidenote? Also, I see you have the android head unit for f30 there’s not many details on if you lose anything when you install it and does it have to install to the auxiliary
What about European and American diesel models ? Will the rpm work right?
@@markk3453RPM will work, even some no working, with software updating under our guiding, can solve, no worry

This is superior to the ID4motion unit. And way cheaper/better looking. You dont need to permanently cut in the housing either 100% plug and play. Will Definitely buy.
I wanted the id4 so bad but the price is just kinda stupid when you consider the other parts you could buy for a n54. Hopefully this will be updated more

This is the best, finally modern look of cluster for "older" Bimmers
Except I prefer the real gauges in the stock cluster.

I am glad there is finally competitor to the Id4m! I will wait for some updates, because I consider it is not that smooth at this moment and then I will buy it. :) My wet dream is someone to create combo with the middle screen system which will be able to show for example Waze to the digital gauge cluster. 😍

Thanks, yeah hopefully they offer a few more skins. It took me 10 minutes to get used to it as it feels just like the gauges from my other cars. I'm seeing if they want to send me one for the 440i now.
E9x is the fucking ultimate platform. Looks modern, and can be modded to latest tech.
Look good it would be nice if included the clasic skin and allowed for more info like boots and afrs

This is a sick super easy mod love it. Theirs that other company that does a digital dash its way more expensive and you have to modify a bit to run it they offer it for more cars but this is still dope

Correct since the milage it stored in the CAS once you put the original cluster in it will sync to the milage change since it was last connected with the cas

There is a video on the channel about it. Only an F10 wheel fits and you can buy a module to make the steering wheel controls work.
Awesome looking video and product. To check oil level on my e82 is done through the dashboard, if you swap this can you still check oil level on the screen? Or do you need to use a scan tool?

Have purchased this unit and installed. Great video and recommendation. Works perfectly, installed and upgraded in seconds and looks amazing too. Really brings anyones E90 into the now. I highly reccomend this unit for all E90 upgrades. Forget that it comes from China. This is a quality product. Maybe spoke too soon. I am constantly getting Tyre Flat warnings and also noticed that CRUISE CONTROL doesn't work with this cluster. Having major issues sorting these problems out.

Does the car animation in the cluster by now have an e92 m3? when is open, does it show in the display? Does it show in the display that u arent buckled up? So many things are still unclear to me.

Does the digital cluster show oil temp and fuel tank level correctly?
Yes so far so good, the levels are correct. Only thing I've noticed is the distance to empty in miles jumped around a little but I did an update and it seems to have stabilized. It would show 300 miles then go to 250 then right back up to 300 but the level indicated was always okay. I can check the level via my android head unit also and it seems about right.
I really wish they had upgrades like this for other car models

Wish it came with the same reflection prevention piece that is on the OEM unit.
Seems like it has about the same glare during the day as a regular G20 gauge cluster for what it's worth.
As an owner of an id4 motion , no am sorry u get what u pay for , I have lots and lots of themes everything working and when I run into any issue they fix it , yes the hardware is cheep and it makes me feel sick on how much I paid for the id4motion but a lot of difference and yes Id4motion is worth the money
pretty dope but the e series cluster is very unique and so is the g series. some things should just be left the way they are.

I would like to know your opinion about engine oil "priming procedure" that BMW mentions to possibly reduce the extra wear on internals (rod bearings)...does it trully add any benefit? Maybe a new video?

@@KennethCherisol ive been daily driving my n54 stage 2 fbo for more that 4+ years as long as you do 2k oil change intervals and run amsoil 0w-40 your good.. that priming shit is not needed… same people that listen to bmw should do their 5k mile oil change recommended interval.. see how long that shit last🤣
@@e92erik I don't think the priming has to do with oil changes but when servicing the oil system like the ofhg or the oil thermostat or cooler. I was just asking what this was. Seems it's priming to oil system after air has been in the lines and passages to prevent dry running the bearings .

How do I check oil level? Does it give the low coolant warning ?
If u get from us carlife-mall, u can ask a software, then do upgrading, then enter 0169 to turn on the oil check, then can appear, if has low or high performance, should have warning

I put on looks so cool and love the pixel quality.
BUT #1 I don't know if my fule gauge showing the right amount fule in my take.
#2 My temperature gauge is only going to the first bar, but it shows on cluster fule information 97c oil temperature.
Most important #3 my maintenance all shows different from what i had on my idrive vehicle information.
#4 The mpg average 29, but I have a diesel engine 320d the average on that is never any less than 40mpg
#5 The maintenance information showing your spark plug replacement in 6000 miles, but I have a diesel engine?
Question is why as thye90 analogs are the best

Another major issue. My CCC idrive menu system words all disappear after 5 mins. Seems to be when it talks to the cluster. I noticed it defaults to Km now instead of miles even though the cluster is set to miles now. If I change it to miles on the idrive it immediately messes the words up so its something to do with how the new cluster is reporting mileage/units to the CCC
This was sorted. You need to wait until the issue happens then select your language again in the idrive settings. Thank fook it was simple
Having same issue. Nothing seems to work. Even upgraded to new software. Still displays in KM 😭
@@nicholashoward4639 have a look at the factory setting using 0168 password or 0169. Both passwords give you a different menu

I would love to see the F 30 version. I looked online they do have one but I want to know if you lose any functions and also will it work if you have a heads up display I know all the other ones I’ve seen don’t work because they don’t fit with the heads up display inside.
Yea I’ve heard the same that they don’t work with the HUD on the F series, I have an F32 and wish they made one that would work with the HUD.
@@James_Edward59 yes it’s not that it doesn’t work. It just doesn’t fit because the hud peace itself comes down behind the head unit so if they redesigned another one with a different case, it could very well fit. I also wonder picking the driving modes that doesn’t just work with the drive selector switch.
to FXX if car has HUD, now only F07, f10 f13 TESTED and can work, other FXX if with HUD, can not support HUD now
So you had perfectly functional and readable gauges and you traded it for this BMW inspired digital garbage? I wish I could do opposite mod in G20 and go back to analog dials.

Do you know the 4 digit code to factory reset the unit? I bought a used one but it has the KM of the old user on it.
Where are those forge carbon pieces from? Those look absolutely sick. All my plastic pieces are starting to peel like a Florida boomer snowbird and looking all kinds of trash.
Can you check the oil level on the new cluster? I like the idea of being able to add a coolant temp gauge built into the dash, but I don't want to lose any of the functionality from the stock unit.

Nope, sadly it does not, just oil service intervals. Just bought the cluster relying on this information....

The plastic back cover or something... Well it is ok, looks like stock one. However I don't understand why seperate frame? So, why they don't produce it in one piece like stock instrument cluster. That was my only critics on ID4motion's products.
