The Stones were getting a lot of airplay on MTV (Music TV) at the time. This and She Was Hot both came from the Undercover album. Too Much Blood was a great song too. I don't remember it having a video.
@@helgeolsen9727 Correct. Released in November 1984 (one year after the parent album), it was, again, edited for broadcast on MTV and even so only from 9 PM.
"Undercover of the Night" was the title track to their 1983 album. Julien Temple directed the video, which was made in Mexico City. MTV was all the rage that year, but the summary execution scene was too much for the channel at the time -- too realistic! The Salvadoran Civil War, with its notorious right-wing death squads, wasn't yet half over. The Stones may have wanted to draw attention to that war and its atrocities as well as to other episodes of human rights violations in Central and South America back then.
I knew this had to be MM….LOL some people may not like this stones cut compare to the rest it’s nothing but pure entertainment that’s all I love it great request 👍🏽👍🏽❤❤
This song is about political corruption in South America at the time. The video doesn't do it justice, to weirdly 80s chaotic. Some of these 80s music video directors were really horrible. The song is better listened to without the video. Richards and Jagger are very well read I think that's one reason they write well together. Richards has one of the largest private libraries of books.
I could do without the videos. Most artists hated the video realm - the music was more important. Could of done without the emergence of MTV and Much Music (Canadian version). ✌❤
It was written more than 40 years ago about South America and applies to the whole world now.
Another gem from this iconic British Rock band, nice request...
This is my 3rd favorite song by them. After Emotional Rescue and Miss You.
I always felt that it really captures the feel and essence of living in a dystopian nightmare. Never thought that I could end up living in one
Love that guitar solo!
This is on my Old School Playlist for sure

There’s a great video for Too Much Blood

Don't remember ever hearing this before. 💛👍
Mick's audition submission?!
That's Mick Jagger in the hat and mustache and him getting kidnapped. And of course, in the band.
I didn't like this song when it came out, but I love it now
Epic song of the 80s. I was like 14
