    you could re arange spark plug cables, because same spark goes on 2 places- first to cilinder to combust and second by cable to cilinder where is exhaust stroke to help to reduce unburned gasses to go out, better is to have 2 sparks in one cilinder in same time than one spark. so return spark cable to main cilinder where is spark coil

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I replaced the spark plug wires with some Taylor shorty spark plug wires to do that very thing. It looks much nicer without the wires running across the manifold.

    My 5.7 tripping idling below 0 rpm but driving fine just a little shaky in park, and engine light continues to blinks for a multiple misfire code after I replaced all spark plugs, I dont know else it would be to fix, it also shudders trying to floor it at 60 or above.

    Great video! I’ve just replaced the pcv valve, but for some reason I can’t get out the pcv hose, which I’m trying to replace also. I don’t wanna break anything by pulling too hard. Any advice? Thanks

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks, Michael! I remember that hose was a real pain to remove. Try spraying a little WD-40 right where the rubber hose meets the plastic manifold and try to pull the manifold end first (not the end near the PCV valve). It’s been a long while but I remember pulling pretty hard to remove it. Just make sure not to wipe the excess WD-40 off and try not to get it all over the hose because that will make it tougher to get a grip. Good luck! 👍

    Quick question. I took my 2013 5.7L hemi in to shop for oil in intake. They said it's the pcv valve. Is there any other way oil can get into the intake. Heard some thing about a phlegm gasket or something?

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ryan Stewart Due to the PCV and EGR systems on modern vehicles, intakes get pretty oily and dirty. Did you have oil leaking out somewhere? Did the shop say that the oil in the intake was normal? I’m not sure what a “phlegm” gasket is.

    • @ryanstewart1445
      @ryanstewart1445 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      DavidJWarEagle well I noticed the oil in the intake manifold an last oil change. I'm a diesel mechanic so when I see oil in the intake manifold its most like a turbo. Seeing how I don't have one I assume its a problem. I read on a dodge forum about the phlegm gasket. Don't remember much on it. Ill try and find it

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay. 👍 I made a video recently about cleaning the intake manifold. So, you can check that out for reference. If the engine isn’t smoking or misbehaving, then I think the oil you’re seeing is probably normal.

    My EGR the copper pipe that runs inside the intake manifold melted a hole right through mine how hard of a fix will that be and is that a part I can just get from a part store or should I get Chrysler parts from the dealer and pay 20 times as much o’Reillys told me 314$ for a new one

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t know regular parts stores carried those composite intake manifolds. That’s good to know. For price comparison I would look at an OEM parts website like eastcoastmoparts.com and probably rockauto.com for non-OEM. I have no affiliation with either of those, just a suggestion.

      DavidJWarEagle I’m pretty sure that the name brand is Dooley does that sound familiar and I reside in Ohio I wish there’s a way I could post a picture of what my EGR did to my intake but advance auto parts told me you’d be a little over $600 I then looked on Facebook I found one about 45 minutes away for $335 but the person wanted to do the work on my car in order to get the part and then O’Reillys told me $314 brand new and they said that the name of the intake pretty sure Dooleys he said that they make probably the best aftermarket parts

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the PCV valve is keyed so that it only goes in one way. If you can turn it clockwise so that it fully seats, you should have it. I don't recall if the hole faces toward the hose or not. Let me know if that helps or not.

I’m gona get a new one but I see in the video the first time he had it facing the hose when he took it back out it was facing the other way. Chrysler logo was the hole side.

      DavidJWarEagle is it more accurate then that chrsyler universal one where u read the temperature. I kneed that.

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I presume you have the NAG1 transmission. So, in that context, the proper fluid level is determined by the transmission fluid temperature. This is why the Chrysler/Miller tool (dipstick) has so many graduations of measurement and also why there is no factory dipstick. There was a lot of consternation on the lxforums.com back in the day about fluid levels in the NAG1.
      The Chrysler/Miller tool (dipstick) is a diagnostic tool that isn't supposed to remain in the transmission all the time. I think over time people have learned that the NAG1 is "OK" as long as the level is in the appropriate range that the B&M dipstick indicates and not overfilled. To answer your question, I do not believe the B&M is more accurate but I think it's accurate enough. My thought in getting the B&M was that I wanted to be able to check my trans fluid when I'm away from home and not have to keep the Chrysler/Miller tool in the car. Just make sure to cruise on the highway for 20-30 minutes to make sure the transmission is fully warmed up. Then check the fluid level with the car in Park with the engine running. If you are doing a drain and refill after changing the filter, make sure the fluid is in the cold range on the dipstick with the engine running before you leave to warm up the transmission. I usually check where the fluid is on the dipstick (with the car off) before I do a drain and refill. This way I can approximate the fluid level before starting the engine to check it.
      The NAG1 is actually a Daimler/Mercedes-Benz transmission also known as the 722.6. My suspicion is that the "over-precision" regarding the fluid level was a Daimler (German) thing since Chrysler was owed at that time (mid 2000s) by Daimler, known as DaimlerChrysler AG. Daimler sold Chrysler in 2007 and became Daimler AG. In 2014, Fiat (Italian company) bought Chrysler and so it is now called Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).
      Wow, that was a long way home but I hope this helps answer your question.

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There is only one PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve on this engine. I haven’t heard of or seen one that had more than one PCV valve. There is an integrated oil separator however. It is the cylindrical part of the intake that the PCV valve connects to.

My V8 300 was idling funny and I pulled it out the fuse for 2 minuets and it when’t back to running like a champ and downshifting super harsh and violent! I would also would recommend unplugging your battery but that might make you lose saved radio stations. Please keep us posted!

    • @DavidJWarEagle
      @DavidJWarEagle  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lynn Chello I don’t think I would run a catch can without also disabling the EGR system. Otherwise the exhaust gases are still being dumped into the intake but without the oil vapors to help dissolve the deposits from the exhaust (just my opinion). It would be interesting to see what the inside of the intake manifold looks like on a Hemi that has a catch can.
