    I continue to desire a Classic 350. I've been waiting for my wife to ask what I want for Christmas but so far she's been silent. I still have another day. Hope springs eternal!

      Best of luck to you on that! It's a great bike. Have thought of getting one myself. Love the Chrome Red but not the best color for dirt roads. If I had one I'm sure I'd want some on/off type tires on her.

      @@rudraveerpratapsingh4359 Not yet. I have an out-the-door price on a Red Chrome and a Signals Marsh Grey model. I'm waffling on whether I actually need four machines in my garage. I took the Himalayan for a ride yesterday and kept asking, "Why do I need another motorcycle?"

      You need to repeatedly say ‘Royal Enfield Classic 350’ into the mic of your wife’s smartphone. It will then start showing her adverts for the bike: hopefully she will get the hint 😀🤣👍

    the Royal Enfield Classic 350 are amazing bikes! If you're on the fence, jump. Unless you need to spend a lot of time on hi-speed freeways, it's a gem!

    Nice motorcycles! Love Royal Enfield! By the way, my Meteor 350 consistently gets between 70 and 80 MPG. I have almost 3,000 miles on it.

  • @jez6208
    @jez6208 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Just put a 500 quid deposit on this bike. Reference the MPG, I think it's based on an imperial gallon which is greater than a US gallon. Designed in the UK but built in India, the imperial gallon would be used. Odd really. The US uses imperial measurements that are the same in all other ways. Inches etc. The bikes sweet spot is 60 miles an hour. However, it's vital that it's run in as per the manual. 40 MPH for the first 300 miles. After the first service, you're away! I'm having the pillion seat removed, an octagonal crash bar and a sump guard fitted. And finally, matching pannier bags fitted. I would like a sat nav fitted but due to a global shortage of micro chips, I'll have to use my phone. I can't bloody wait for mine to be delivered. Great video! Cheers!

      @forgottenmotorcycles yup! It's on order. So, I'm 57. Got a 125cc last August. It's the maximum you can ride as an adult in the UK without a full motorcycle licence. I'm taking lessons now. I'm hoping, by the time the bike is at the dealership, I'll have passed my test. Check out the uk licensing law. It's nuts! Still, the training is rigorous and I'm enjoying it. Firstly, I had to pass the CBT. Compulsory Basic Training. It takes 1 day and is valid for 2 years. I have to have 'L' Plates on the bike. Rear and front. Not allowed on the motorway (freeway) and not allowed a passenger. Then, I have to do my module 1 training on a 600cc bike and pass the test. Look it up. Then, I have to do my module 2 training and take a test. I'd i pass that, then I'm legal to ride any bike, anywhere. Personally, I think it's just a way for the UK government to make a chunk of money. Still, I'm learning alot. Had my 2nd lesson today. First yesterday. Doing pretty well. My goal is to get that classic signals and then to ride the coast roads, the lake district, and the Yorkshire dales of old England. Beautiful twisty roads and spectacular countryside. Look it up. My Dad rode bikes for years. I'm doing it for him as much as for me. Cheers mate! Sorry to ramble on. 👍😄

    We just got my dad one for his 60th birthday - he is gonna flip! He actually lived in India when he was young, so he has quite a strong connection to these bikes. The minute I saw a picture of him standing next to the Desert Sand model, I knew it was fate. Now I want one and I've never really considered getting a motorcycle in my life, but the style is just TOO cool to pass up. Thanks for this great overview since we didn't get to see it in person ourselves. My big question: why such a disdain for riding these on an interstate? I get that more horsepower can actually help defensive driving by getting you out of some trouble, but if you camp in the right lane, what is the worry? It's a vehicle like anything else, it'll get you from point A to point B - doesn't matter if it's laser quick or a joy ride, does it? Is there anything else that makes it unsuitable for major highways, other than cars not always being careful?

    • @forgottenmotorcycles
      @forgottenmotorcycles  ปีที่แล้ว

      They're wonderful bikes I think your dad will really enjoy it. Very good beginner bike too. As far as the interstate goes, the bike has a top speed of about 70 miles an hour most traffic on the interstate is much faster. if you don't mind that I suppose it could be okay. I do take by Himalayan on the interstate but I limit my ride about 10 miles at 70 miles an hour. I do this to limit wear and tear on the motorcycle. Let me know what you end up doing. Wahoo!

    • @jez6208
      @jez6208 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Designed in the UK. Built in India. Works really well. I've just bought one. Getting it delivered next week. You have to run them in gently so no interstate until the first 300 mile service. Here in the UK, the speed limit on the motorway is 70 mph. This bike is happiest around 65. That's more than fast enough to get where you need to go safely. However, the classic 350 is really designed for country roads. I live in County Durham. Northeast England. Perfect bike country and the coast is close by. I hope your Dad is having a blast? Did you buy one in the end?

      @@forgottenmotorcycles I'm leaning towards the Halcyon Grey as my first choice. Halcyon Black as my second. I like the Chrome Red, but wonder about how much harder it would be to keep it clean looking. I wish we got the Hunter here, I'd turn it into a mini scrambler with off-road tires.
