I'm always baffled by how ship to ship ramming is such an effective way to neutralize capital ships in the Star Wars universe. Seriously, they have shields and yet even the mighty super star destroyer couldn't prevent its own demise when another ship crashed into them, or in the case of the Supremacy, get rammed by enemy ships going into hyperspace. This makes me wonder why the Rebels didn't opt for more kamikaze attacks, since Imperial Star Destroyers are weak against ramming to the point where even their shields are useless.
Wait you actually believe that the A-wing crashing into the super star destroyer’s bridge is what brought it down? It was that COMBINED with the almost the entire rebel fleet bombarding it and the gravitational pull of the Death Star that brought it down, not a single fighter ramming it.
@@Azorees-oj5zr You are absolutely correct, after Akbar ordered with the now famous line of "concentrate all firepower to that SSD", the Executors shields were downed and engines damaged just as green leader made his attack run on the bridge, since the SSD was focusing on incoming rebel cruisers and support ships it didn't divert much power to forward point defence, so the kamikaze run struck the main bridge. The SSD lost control of most systems (temporarily as it had a second bridge but that doesn't matter), as the temporary disablement of engines caused the SSD to be pulled into the Death Star II due to gravity. All in all it was the combined effort of a lot of brave rebels launching suicide runs against the SSD, rebel high command's good tactical decisions and a dose of luck to take down the SSD...... I refuse to justify the Raddus's light speed ramming
