@@hallbrawlerspodcast5091 i wit you on that, i first seen this when i was 13 and didn't notice that till i was in my 30's...and that is coming from a person who knows like every line in the movie...lol
The lady with the long nails and braids is the voice of Trudy Proud from the Proud family. Craigs sister is Regina King the voice of Huey and Riley Freeman. I could go on but this cast was ICON
Growing up I never realized how certain movies were basically classics in the black community but not mainstream. It's wild to me that so many people haven't seen this. The sequel and even the 3rd movie are good laughs too.
@paulohernanndizz3506I’m half black half Mexican and love being from both sides feel like I can relate to the guy from blood in blood out how he looks white but got Mexican in him I look Mexican but got that black in me
Thar's how I feel when people say they've never seen this, "Love and Basketball" (even though I don't really like it like that, or "Baby Boy" (the movie I watched most). I saw these in rotation all the time on BET growing up and the thought of someone else not growing up constantly saying, "Don't mess with me- I'm Looney Tunes!" is crazy to me. To be fair though there's tons of classics I also missed out on as a kid that I bet shocks others too.
There are some movies that you wish that you could just go back and experience again all over for the first time. This is one of those movies for me and seeing other people's reactions in those cases is amazing. Looking forward to this one!
Yeah me too. I seen better movies but this one back in 95, me and some friends with my bro were smoking blunts in the back row and no one said shit. The best movie going experience ever, especially since I don't talk to, or some of those friends have passed away.
One of the funniest parts of this movie is that the big girl who came to see Smokey, told him she looked like Janet Jackson ! In the movie “Poetic Justice “, Janet’s character Justice wears her hair in braids with a hat through most of the movie, and that’s why the big girl takes off the hat that has the braids attached.😂 it’s funnier if you’ve actually seen Poetic Justice to get the reference.
Rest in peace Pops - he made this movie. This was must see any race or person movie in the 90s! Rest in peace Deebo - he won a national championship for shot put at Cal State!
Thank you for watching this version of the movie. It’s truly the funnier version. There’s like an extended one that I get instantly irritated when i see reactors watching it LOL
Y'all HAVE to react to the sequel "Next Friday" and "Friday After Next" now. They're hilarious 😭😭 and naturally, I feel like it's understandable that some of the jokes were misses for you because not only was it filmed almost 30 years ago, there's a culture barrier
Many years ago, I worked for a bank branch that had only a TV with a VCR and a handful of movies for entertainment in the break room. Friday was by far the most popular one. Repeated viewings were so common that it became a running joke with the staff that "every day is Friday". I've seen this movie so many times over the years that I can recite the entire thing verbatim. Good times.
its not also from this movie. it is ONLY from this movie. Thats where the black community got it from. We grew up on this movie and then nonblack Americans started copying us.this was NOT a saying before this movie
This is an absolute classic. I seen it when it first dropped on VHS and it had our whole family laughing so hard. It was also a perfect balance of comedy and seriousness, including some important life lessons at the same time.
"How come every time I come in the kitchen...........YOU in the kitchen?" John Witherspoon is hilarious. The other 2 movies are OK, but Friday is the best IMO.
What I love the most about this movie is all of the cultural references that came out of this like "Bye Felicia" and the term "deboed" when someone gets bullied. Of course there's the "daaamn" meme that is often used.
Ive seen this movie maybe 100+ times and i have never noticed the guy laying in craig’s gf’s bed at the beginning while shes yelling at him about another girl 😂😂😂
Yea this is where bye Felicia comes from. It used to drive me crazy when some people would say it because I knew damn well they had no idea where it came from.
This is a classic! I absolutely love this movie and I’m happy y’all are watching it. It’s just a fantastic movie. Loved y’alls reactions to this! Hysterical!
If you guys liked Ice Cube & Chris Tucker's dynamic, you will LOVE Ice Cube & Mike Epps. "Day-Day" did an amazing job taking over as the comedic co-star after Chris Tucker left the franchise. Can't wait to see you guys' reaction to the sequels.
For those of us old cats we knew Dbo as Zeus, Hulk Hogan's enemy, and this was the first time we had seen him since he wrestled and came out in Hulk Hogans Movie No Holds Barred. Oh and in the background where they are playing craps you can see Michael Duncan is in that seen as well. Way before we even knew who he was
🎉Congratulations on 10,000 Subscribers 🎉 I've never seen that movie. Chris Tucker always makes me laugh until tears roll. Your reactions were great! Love you guys! Keep up the great work! 🎉

the crackhead in the opening credits that was running with the boxes is the one that was actually stealing from craig's job, he's the reason he got fired lol

Everything about this movie what's the hood. Sure it was a movie made to be funny but it was real life through and through. Women were attracted to real men, not their bag as much nowadays. Hard-working take care of their family, That's it.
I must say guys that the editing this time was mostly great. Good job guys. 🎉 Where are we on Police Academy? I really want to see your reaction on that. As an old fart I know you'll love it.
It’s the way that Cam was reacting to the Craig vs Deebo fight that had me crying laughing! Then Zay getting annoyed with Joy at the end and saying she needed to cut her nails 😂😂😂. Great reaction overall + y’all watched the better version 10/10
So the actor that plays the father, has a certain way of talking where he is constantly smacking his lips. Its is like his signature his best performance has to be in Boomerang at the Thanksgiving table. He is where the phrase "whip that pussy" comes from.
