Fun Fact: The ending of the film wasn’t even supposed to set up a sequel originally. It was just supposed to be a last minute “here we go again!” joke. But, the film was a huge success & a later TV Edit added “To Be Continued” at the end.
Man do I love Huey Lewis. He was one of the biggest things in the '80s, and now people just seem to have kinda forgotten about his music. Dude had one of the all-time rock and roll voices and put out nothing but bangers.
Nobody ever catches that “Twin Pines Mall” becomes “Lone Pine Mall” at the end of the movie because Marty ran over one of them when he was leaving the farm
At the beginning of the movie, Marty and Doc are at the Twin Pine Mall. When Marty goes back to 1955, on entry, he hits and destroys one of the pine trees, hence upon his return, the mall sign says Lone Pine Mall. So many nods back and forth in this movie. Exceptional writing. Loved your reaction!
Couple of fun facts about the time machine. 1, the real DeLorean was such a terrible car, it couldn't even do 88mph. So they had to fit it with a fake speedometer for the movie. 2, the time machine was originally going to be a fridge rather than a car, but the idea was scrapped because the writers were worried it would encourage children to climb inside their fridges.
And regarding the fridge idea: if I'm not mistaken, the fridge scene at the start of Indiana Jones 4 (a movie that does not exist but let's pretend just for one moment it does) was inspired by the original BTTF script that included the fridge. At least, according to Bob Gale, the guy who wrote BTTF (Spielberg was heavily involved in the production of this film, obviously, so he would have been around for that version of the script).
I watched back to the future 2 in the same month and year (2015) that they traveled to in the beginning half of the movie and I just remember how mind blown I felt that they traveled to the same time I was watching it (I didn't realize that it was around the time of the 30th anniversary of the og film)
YES! Micheal J. Fox DID learn how to play guitar for this movie, and that is 100% all him, and yes, that guy did call the original writer of the song. there are a lot of fun time things in this movie.
26:27 "Can he actually play though?" As far back as 2016 Coldplay has got Michael J. Fox on stage to play Johnny Be Good and Earth Angel with them, and as recently as this year's (2024) Glastonbury Festival. Lots of footage online to be found. Lead singer Martin says it's his and his son's favourite movie.
23:27 More like 4 years.. there originally was no plan for a sequel but the public loved it so much.. they immediately turned it into a trilogy, with the 2nd and 3rd coming out very short after eachother in 1989 and 1990.
I saw this opening weekend in 84’.. I was 16. I am 56 now and still watch and Love. I couldn’t believe you’d never seen this. Thanks for allowing me to tag long. So fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
One of the greatest trilogies ever. I'm from Vancouver, Canada and Michael J. Fox's hometown is Burnaby, which is a suburb. He has a theatre and a bunch of other stuff around here named after him. My babysitter in the early-mid 80s had a huge crush on him, so I used to be forced to watch Family Ties, his big sitcom, whenever she came over. The joke about Ronald Reagan being the president isn't just there for the reference to him being an actor in the 1950s. Michael J. Fox's character, Alex P. Keaton, played an 80s Republican teenager who adored Reagan while his parents were ex-hippies and the rest of his family were on the other side politically. So I guess it's a subtle reference to his character in that show.
After watching the history of the Blue LED, I love seeing older films now with tech that clearly works around that limitation, the DeLorean's time circuit display uses red, green, and amber LEDs :D
This is one of the few PERFECT MOVIES that’s been made. Glad you watched it and loved it. Obscure fact- the mayor from 1955 Red Thomas, is the drunk homeless guy in 1985
23:28 Back then, when a couple "parked," it was heavily implied that they were going to make out at the very least, and AYO at the most. It was like the "Netflix and chill" of its time.
I loved this video!! 🤩 Thank you so much for watching Back to the Future!! It's such a great movie, and the next two are also amazing!! I usually watch these movies with my sister once a year and we always have a great time! ☺️ Thanks again for your videos!! They always put me in a good mood!! Can't wait to see the next!!
Hi. There is another American time travel film that was released in 1986. It’s called Peggy Sue Got Married. The premise is different. Peggy Sue passes out at her high school class reunion and wakes up in 1960. Kathleen Turner and Nicolas Cage star in the film. I highly recommend it. Patreon is not in my budget now so I can’t put in a formal request.
Thrilled you liked it! This is my favorite movie of all time (I consider all 3 to be one movie even though they never intended to make more than one before it was released).
admittedly havent waitched your stuff in a while, many recent watches haven't been as exciting as something like this! hope you start to knock off some more big classic ones
Yes, I remember into the 1970’s a gas station attendant would come out and pump the gas, check the oil and tire pressure, and wash the windshield….all at no extra charge. 🤯
Back to the Future is often considered a perfect film. And I 100% agree. One of my favorites and have watched it countless times. A word of warning. A trailer for the 3rd film plays at the end of the 2nd. So you’ll want to stop it if you want to avoid spoilers.
This I S one of the best films of all time !!! 🤩 Saw it 12 times at the cinema back in '85... and loads of times since. By the way, Marty's guitar track was called Johnny B. Goode - written by Chuck Berry in 1958 😉
when teenagers 'parked' back in 50's USA, it was an opportunity for some "private time" in the car, away from the grown-ups, if you know what I mean...😝 (that's why Marty was shocked when Lorraine said it wasn't her first time) 😂
OK, apart from money, if I could go back in time, I'd want to travel to Dec. 31, 887, somewhere in England, so that at midnight, I could hear people say, "It's Eight Eighty Eight A.D.! It's Eight Eighty Eight A.D.!"
But would they actually say that? I'm no history buff, but I think in that time frame they would have been speaking old English which I believe is much different than what we speak now.
@@donaldseale2700 I've just come back to the future, and you're right. I have no idea what they said, but it probably wasn't that. They seemed quite impressed with my Delorean, though.
7:56 heres an easier way to explain it: If youve ever read or watched A Wrinkle in time, it's the same thing. Hold a string between your hands. Hold an ant on one side. Bend the string to lead the ant to the other side seamlessly. The loop underneath is the minute skipped over.
Dude, I am such a fan of your work. I’m such a fan of your channel. The request I would have for you would be. to watch the entire Tyler Perry series of movies that he has from diary of a Mad black woman, why did I get married one and two and so many more I think you would have a good time reacting to those movies and there’s an entire series of his movies which I think you would thoroughly enjoy
Three out of four avengers films, the only exception is Age of Ultron. They also mention BTTF in Endgame which implies that Alan Silvestri exists within the MCU while also writing music for it
I'm generally the kind of person who doesn't like waiting for something to happen, I have mostly been the girl who calls a boy or would come right out and say that I'm interested (also bc I'm terrible at getting subtle signals, directness is always better). My mom always gave me a hard time about it, just like Lorraine does. "Never call up a boy!" "Never ask them out!"
Fun fact: in the "Darth vader" scene, the original plan was to have actual Van Halen music playing, but Eddie was the only one who signed off on it, so they improvised. What you're hearing is just Eddie by himself playing a few solo riffs.
I was born in the 90s and when I was in high school we didn’t call it parking, we would just say “wanna drive around” or “I know a spot” which is what I think kids now say too but we all meant the same thing Lorraine did 😂
Fun fact: a deleted scene shows an extended version if Marty posing as "Darth Vader", with him sneaking in from the window and after their speech, he putting George asleep again using chloroform or something, which explains why George oversleeps the next morning.
I’m not crying… you’re crying 🤣 Luv this movie and I luv that you luv this movie also. Definitely watch the next two as soon as you can. The whole trilogy is a masterpiece 🔥
Also Seb: when you watch the sequel, you'll notice that a different actress plays Jennifer. That's because the original actress, Claudia Wells, bowed out to take care of her mother, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer. And, fun fact: the person who was going to be Jennifer was Melora Hardin, best known as Jan from the American version of The Office, but once Eric Stoltz was fired as Marty, Melora was fired as well because she was too tall (Michael J. Fox is a very short man; they had always wanted Fox to play Marty but he was on a hugely popular sitcom called Family Ties at the time and initially couldn't get out of it. Once they fired Stoltz, they worked out a deal that basically had Fox working 24/7 filming this movie and Family Ties simultaneously).
In the initial test in the parking lot, the Doc didn't need to put Einstein at risk-- he could have tested the car with no one inside and simply put a stop watch on the seat. Poor Einstein!
Seb, if your brain was hurting after this one, you'll have a hell of a good time with Part 2. I'm also looking forward to see how you work your love of Cap into the next one.
27:58 in the timeline where Marty went back he got hit by the car instead of his dad which meant Marty’s mum fell in love with him instead. So Marty had to orchestrate his dad punching biff to replace the moment his mum fell for his dad
Hey, I loved your reaction to this movie, it's my favorite movie of all time, and i consider it to be the best trilogy too! I have a recommendation to make, there is this documentary called "Still: A Michael J Fox Movie" which is about the life of Michael J Fox, the actor who plays Marty McFly in this movie. If you decide not to film a reaction to it I understand, but i still recommend it regardless, whether you film a reaction to it or not, since it's a very good and underrated documentary! I've been recommending it to other channels as well. I'm sorry if I had any mistakes, english is not my first language, greetings from Uruguay! :)

One of the best films ever made. I wonder if George ever wondered why his son looks like his old friend. Lorraine even named him after him. Must be an awkward conversation on the parentage.

Weird science 🧪 another 80s classic
.. poly?.. no
This is definitely an 80’s classic. All this movie needed was a great time travel plot, memorable scenes, and Huey Lewis’s Power of Love.
Yup even Quentin Tarantino called it a perfect movie. You cannot add or take away from it. It is perfect the way it is.
@@blakvenum7687 Tarantino also said that Joker 2 is fantastic and Dune Part 2 isn’t worth watching
@@blakvenum7687 Even if Tarantino said that, I bet he was thinking 'It needs more scenes with bare feet in them'.... :P
Fun Fact: The ending of the film wasn’t even supposed to set up a sequel originally. It was just supposed to be a last minute “here we go again!” joke. But, the film was a huge success & a later TV Edit added “To Be Continued” at the end.
Adore these movies! Fun fact, the script for this movie is considered a nearly perfect script, it's studied in film school
A funny and fun fact is that Huey Lewis, the singer of “The Power of Love” is the actor who tells him Marty his music is “too darn loud”.
I never put that together but OMG that's amazing
Man do I love Huey Lewis. He was one of the biggest things in the '80s, and now people just seem to have kinda forgotten about his music. Dude had one of the all-time rock and roll voices and put out nothing but bangers.
Nobody ever catches that “Twin Pines Mall” becomes “Lone Pine Mall” at the end of the movie because Marty ran over one of them when he was leaving the farm
It’s one of the greatest scripts of all time, just every little detail
Literally two other comments taking about it
The one no one catches is the homeless guy in 1985 was the mayor in 1955
Saw this notification and i gasped so hard my mom asked me if i was ok, love you seb❤
Best thing about seeing this pop up is knowing we are about to get a couple more bangers after it
This is truly one of those movies that you can watch again and again no matter how many times you've already seen it. It is that enjoyable.
Back To The Future is the perfect trilogy and my favourite life action movie with Monty Python as a close second.
And if you turn the time on the Mall clock upside down, it shows 9-11 (twin towers replaced by a single tower) 😳
Couple of fun facts about the time machine.
1, the real DeLorean was such a terrible car, it couldn't even do 88mph. So they had to fit it with a fake speedometer for the movie.

No way you never seen these. This is the ultimate 80s movie. I pray it’s never remade.
