    Steve Jordan is the man! First time I heard him play was around '78 at the Jazz Festival in Zurich, Switzerland. He was an unknown kid playing drums in Michal Urbaniak's band along with Kenny Kirkland who walked on crutches due to a car accident I think.... they killed it! After the scheduled programming there was a jam session and Steve destroyed the place! Groove monster! I knew then and there that guy is special.... Kaspar Galli

    I heard that the BB live album, Made in American, was done only with a 16 track tape machine.
    Jordan had some great licks on that album. Way ahead of the times. I stole damn near ever lick off of that record.
    My Hero.

    I remember when he was in the Letterman band with Hiram Bullock. That band was really smokin'. They were only a 4 piece band them. But sometimes less is more.
    I just liked the feel of that band.

    Love Steve. The weed has permanently slowed down his actions. That's why he can lay back on the beat so well....

    linear playing compared to musicality - naaaah, I prefer the musicality by itself, linearity is of course something one should work on, and gospeldrummers have dug this above and beyond, which gave them amazing technique, but amazing feel and musicality doesn't come hand in hand with technique - it's about heart!

    @slayalips I know what you mean, but his schedu and hos resumate speak for himself, so he's not that much underrated, and I bet it doesn't care to be famous or hip for the drummers, he's famous and hip for ALL the big top in the WORLD MUSIC industry, it's all matter, don't you think so ?

  • @familytreemusic
    @familytreemusic 12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    underrated by who?
    it's one of the most in demand drummers ever,
    he played with hundreds of great artist on thousands of tracks...
    oh, you mean some kids think trevis something is better than him...

    imagine all the incredible GOSPEL drummers John Mayer fans don't know ANYthing about.
    Steve Jordan is great -BUT- white fans need to open their minds and recognize there are dozens of guys easily as skilled as Jordan.

    • @MrPartidoalto
      @MrPartidoalto 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      If they were as skilled as Steve Jordan where are they? Do they have the same drive and intentions like Steve? Do they play anything other than gospel? Can they swing or play a fat funk groove?

  • @MystiK570

    The Duality I think sucks, Why? Because your just getting a normal so and so SSL console. Your still mixing the old school way, Which in the world we live into as far as music goes, Time is money. Ths Duality only allows you to play with 4 little bottons to use your plug in. Your telling me I'm going to spend $250,000 on a board for 4 bottons. I could buy a $80,000 used SSL getting the same sounding pre amps, Compressers & EQ.
