    I watch a lot of reviews and I must say you do an outstanding job! Quick, interesting and to the point. You bring up considerations of the Ramblas that no other reviewer is touching on. Great job and thank you!

    Thanks for the review! I tested out the Trek Marlin+ 6 with the Bosch Active Line Plus motor the other day and loved it. I then saw an ad for the Aventon Ramblas the next day! They have the exact same MSRP of about 2700 USD. The Ramblas has double the torque (50nm vs 100nm), and much longer distance capability. I would love to see a head to head comparison between the two since they are very similar and the price point is the same. The weight is only a few pounds more for the Ramblas, and for so much more distance and torque. it makes me think its a no brainer, but I am brand new to ebikes. For me personally, I am not doing anything crazy on a mountain trail. I'd like to take it there and ride without fear of ruining everything. I won't go fast and a dropper post isn't necessary for me. I will probably do 50% riding on pavement, 40% riding on dirt/natural trails fairly flat, and 10% on technical trails. This will be my first ebike. I am a big guy at over 6 feet tall and over 275 pounds. What are your initial thoughts?

    • @TOGGGAA1
      @TOGGGAA1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My initial thoughts would be that you need to spend as much as you can on your bike being able to carry your weight. I wouldn’t even worry about a motor yet

      I'm 290lb and have taken the ramblas on two hard rides so far. Nothing crazy but a few 6-8" drops and plenty of rock gardens and hard climbs.
      If you plan to do really hard climbs you will need the extra torque. My wife's bike with 65nm couldn't take me up some of my local trails and I had to walk it. The ramblas has torque for days and with a 50t Granny gear there is no slope it can't climb. I would pull the trigger before the prices start going up if you haven't. I will say the tires are not ideal for pavement so you might need new rubber before long if you spend most of your time on the street. They have been very sure footed on said loose climbs though.

    For the fork you just need to order a stiffer or lighter spring which is pretty easy to swap out. The bike is heavy due to all the heavier parts and a giant battery, which makes sense at this price point. Although if one wants to spend the money, upgrading the fork, wheels, tires and so on would start dropping the weight below 50lbs pretty quickly.

    Please find more information about what's inside the in-house Aventon A-100 motor. Does the A-100 motor have steel of nylon gearing? The bottom line for me, all comes down to how good (or not so good) the A-100 motor is. As far as what went into building the motor in-house, and how it compares (or not) to the Bosch or Shimano motors.
    If Aventon releases some information about what's in the A-100 motor, they will stand to really make the Ramblas even more impressive than it already is. If Aventon doesn't give us the internal specs of their in-house A-100 motor, then we can only assume that they had to cut some costs in the engineering of the motor, to keep the bike at a sub $3K bike.

    • @TOGGGAA1
      @TOGGGAA1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they may be slightly ahead of the game with their new motor design. 6 months or so. At the end of the year I’m sure we’ll see more similarly designed motors

    • @GuyBraget
      @GuyBraget 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can't buy this bike because of that A-100 motor. All that torque doesn't mean jack to me if it's just a Harbor Freight motor.

    Could you just put a heavier set of springs in these forks, instead of replacing the entire assembly?
    I’m really liking this bike, but I’m a little concerned about the untested motor they have in it. Seems like it might be a good idea to wait a little while and make sure they don’t have any major issues.
