It feels like a lot of content creators who focus on reviews are reviewing the most expensive spec on already insanely priced bikes in that most people can't afford. Don't get me wrong, if I came into some disposable income I'd definitely splurge on an Evil Epocalypse but for the time being, as I've had some interest in emtb, this feels a little bit more in my wheel house next to my 2023 Norco Fluid lmao.
Appreciate the content man, keep it up!

Most of the reviews are about catering to the ego of the manufacturers, most reviews are too kind because of this.

Everyone just says “get more fit and use a normal MTB” but my spouse suffers from long-covid and their lung capacity has been permanently reduced. E-mtb is the only way they can stay with me on even moderate trails

I'm 65, have the same LC condition, and a trashed lumbar spine. Nothing wrong with getting a little e-help on those hills or at the end of long day! Great way to bring your wife with you for under $3k, and everyone has a fun day. Components are all standard... so wheels, forks, handlebars or whatever she ends up not liking can be easily upgraded. 😉

  • @komoonkh

That’s a damn good price for that style. I bought the Aventure 2 last year and love it, but I would’ve bought this one if it had been out then.

Yeah, I was looking that the Aventure 2 as well but the weight really put me off buying it until another year - then this thing comes out. I have my order placed.

  • @NoLimitsCommemorativ

I'm disabled but able lol. I fractured my right patella into 5 pieces 14 years ago and have never been able to hike, bike, squat, deadlift- basically do any of the stuff I lived for since that accident without severe pain that makes my leg useless for days afterwards.
I am so happy to see these now and wondering if I should buy this or a higher end eMTB with a more powerful mid motor.
Rode the Aventon 2 with the hub motor but didn't enjoy the feel of that design or the weight.
I need to get on a bike again.

  • @Whoadayson

Nice - and suprising - review video! Good job!
Do you think this price is fair, or did they price it low to 'seed the market/gain some rep in the eMTB arena'? Im just curious as somewhat of a noob to modern eMTBs.
I just picked up a GT Eforce Current at $2600 and its full sus but Im mad at myself for never even taking a look at the Ramblas, as I just expected that Aventon jumped on the 'lets put a motor on it and call it an eMTB' train but they seem to put solid thought into spec and pricing which leads me back to my initial question.
If you have time, whats your opinion on the GT Current? I know its got some low end components, but the frame geo looks pretty good to me and upgradeable which from a future upgrade standpoint, I thought it was a good place to start (again, more noob than not)
Thx for any replies and insight. Appreciate the content!

I live in California where there is lots of rocks and techy sections on the trails. I am also used to riding nice full suspension bikes but am looking at the aventon ramblas, if I replaced to fork for a high end rockshox zeb and the tiers for tubeless would you say it’s capable and almost as comfy as a full suspension? Please help 🙏 thanks

Thanks for the review! I tested out the Trek Marlin+ 6 with the Bosch Active Line Plus motor the other day and loved it. I then saw an ad for the Aventon Ramblas the next day! They have the exact same MSRP of about 2700 USD. The Ramblas has double the torque (50nm vs 100nm), and much longer distance capability. I would love to see a head to head comparison between the two since they are very similar and the price point is the same. The weight is only a few pounds more for the Ramblas, and for so much more distance and torque. it makes me think its a no brainer, but I am brand new to ebikes. For me personally, I am not doing anything crazy on a mountain trail. I'd like to take it there and ride without fear of ruining everything. I won't go fast and a dropper post isn't necessary for me. I will probably do 50% riding on pavement, 40% riding on dirt/natural trails fairly flat, and 10% on technical trails. This will be my first ebike. I am a big guy at over 6 feet tall and over 275 pounds. What are your initial thoughts?

    • @TopToBottomMTB
      @TopToBottomMTB  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thx for watching! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
I think you’re gonna get way more bang for buck with the Aventon. The Trek name costs quite a bit. The bike is super capable right out of the box as you saw in the video. The only thing I’d change if you’re gonna be riding it on the trails is a good set of beefier tube less tires. Maybe a $150 upgrade. That’s it! And that’s only if you’re gonna take it off road. I appreciate your time and if you want to help me out for free, consider clicking on my link in the video description when ordering the bike. It tells Aventon you came from watching my video and will help me do more reviews with them in the future. Either way you go, you’re looking at 2 great bikes! You’re gonna love it!Cheers!

It doesn’t matter what bike you get, all of them will have trouble supporting 275lbs to an extent. You should get a bike without a motor first, and use that spare money to invest into parts that will carry that weight…

take a look at the Commencal Max Max hardtail. I'm 6'2" and 120 lbs. I appreciate the 27.5 plus wheel set with the wider rims (35i) and the 150mm fork. Also the 200mm rotors give excellent stopping for bigger guys.

It’s a good buy - he rides it on trails that most wouldn’t take this bike on, which shows it capabilities, he does so well with the Maxxis Rekon’s F&R…
It’s a definite kick in the 🥎 🎱 🎾 for the bigger manufacturers!
A few tweaks here and there and it’d see you right for a good while imho!

No range data after the intro build-up. 80 is huge so what's real? That's a huge factor for most who buy an ebike as they will be more a commuter than trail bike. Could you add a full day street ride range data in lowest PAS on all your reviews. Yea it varies but at least if you ride the same route we get a comparison. Nice review anywsys.

The Cannondale Moterra Neo 3 (on sale for $4500) is a much better bike if you have the money to splurge a little more. Getting a full suspension e-bike with the Bosch Smart System motor; for under 5K, is the best bang for your buck right now.

Very nice E-MTB priced below the entry level bike from the mainstream MTB manufacturers.
Sadly, Aventon could have captured a much bigger market by adding a quick disconnect thumb throttle for the days you are commuting around town and not on the trails. It's their motor design. A true trail/city hybrid is still not filled by anyone. Missed the mark Aventon.

Looks like you would have room to up that chain ring from 32 or 34 I forget which two about a 42. I would think that would increase the speed a bit. Sitting as stock with a 32 or 34 chain ring and an 1150 in the back, should be able to climb up a tree. I believe with that 50 tooth in the back you could afford to increase the speed by coming up, so I’m in the front. Good job on the review. Glad to see some companies going in the direction of making a higher grade of bike rather than just sticking with the, what I would call entry level bikes.

Watching him ride the moped down the trail looked like fun. I may get a moped off FB marketplace so I can take it on the local mountain bike trails. Will probably be cheaper than $2700
