Sometimes I watch your videos and “what in the world is he doing?” Then a minute later I say, “that’s why!” Your efficiency is mind blowing! You think 20 steps ahead.
Wow an weekend job that took more time moving equipment in and out then it took to do the job. You always make it look easy! Thank you for sharing part of your day!
That new bucket was a great investment. I only bought toys that made me money. I'm in Michigan wish you were closer would love to volunteer to help you on some jobs. I've been watching you for about a year now,I see your technique on the way you use your bucket, wish you showed more of the controls in use so I could understand what does what with the boom and bucket. You do top notch work and the finished jobs always look great.
Nice. You make a difficult task look easy. To make an evenly graded, symetrical ditch that fast with no clean up is impressive. Until you get in and try it yourself, watching on the screen does not do justice. Anyone can dig a ditch, not everyone can make it look presentable.
Yes sir I was thinking almost exactly what you said typically I will charge $200 to deliver the tractor Plus $100 an hour with a 3 hour minimum. But just a quote a job that one looks like around 1200 to me plus I'll charge extra for longer distances depending on how far of course .thanks for your response
I am syrprised you did make a small guppy pond and run the ditch more along the propertyline so he wasn't catching air in his lawn tractor, unless that is what he wanted......
When are you going to get with AMI to design a better thumb for the Yanmar? In some videos it seems to slow you down a bit and easier to pickup small stuff. Keep it up We will keep watching
Chris if you had the chance would you use a til trotator? Or would you keep the thumb? Thinking about getting a mini ex and I’m having a hard time deciding
Best part is you got rid of that "ankle breaker" shovel ditch. His insurance company thanks you. Those shovel jobs are a lawsuit waiting to happen since no one wants to slope the sides from depth to nothing by hand.
I would not blame you for not wanting to share what I'm going to ask for but I would really love to know if you can possibly tell me what you would charge for a job like that, just trying to see if I'm anywhere close to where I'm supposed to be I feel like I'm working too cheaply here lately , thank you for everything you could possibly say. fantastic job
Quick job and I hope it was cash in hand. Bit of a surprise there was rip rock pile. The tricky part is keeping the kids off the dirt pile after it rains.
You did an awesome job there Chris for a little Saturday project but you know you in the country when you can hear the crows a hawkin in the background, lmaoooo. But anyway brother you and John and yawls family y’all stay safe and keep the videos coming brother and I can’t wait to you get back to the animal shelter project since they blasted all the rock it’s gonna be a good couple videos there
Never seen many Swales in the UK. We would just bury a 4 inch perforated pipe in the original ditch, and cover it over... It's much less obtrusive that way.
His grader would have been nice. I don’t think he is a grader guy too much. That big back yard would be a nice place for it too front and back just keep rollen that dirt all the way
@@randywilson6869 Gotta play to your strengths, I'm a grader guy myself, been finishing for 5 years. With the lack of organic material it would've made it quite a bit easier. Glad to hear i wasn't the only one thinking the same thing.
@@letsdig18 Definitely not saying the way you did it was wrong, just more than one way to skin a cat. Everyone has their own way of doing things. I wasn't stating that doing it with a grader would've been easier, only an observation that with the lack of organic the job would've been easier then if there was a heavy root system. I didn't mean any offense or to try and tell you how to do your job. My apologies.
Or have seen that square thing that they grade with and it has a roller on the back of it? U need a rotator for it bu man they move a lot of dirt and gravel and if u want u can keep it on grade with just a few more thousand lol. Oh duckgirl uses one but I think she has every attachment made
Wow, that may be an easy ditch swale to cut and I agree it really looks good, but I sure would not want something like that crossing the full length of my backyard and being only a few yards from my house. But there again, I would assume that the homeowner knew that there was a natural water runoff path through their property when they built their home. It would seem that N.C. water drainage laws are not designed for the convenience of the homeowner, but more for the ease of natural water runoff paths.
I have watched your videos for years and it is always very impressive. Anyhow I have been wondering how the thumb accessory is always there in your excavator, but now you also have the tilt bucket. Have you used a rototilt between the bucket and the excavator? Like engcon: th-cam.com/video/Hi-xjHBmIz8/w-d-xo.html I hope lots of digging for you and a happy Christmas season.

Chris, you love swinging and you do a great job doing it. All your jobs look awesome. Keep up the good work
Nice quick job for a Saturday!! Turned out smooth and still had sunlight.
That tilt bucket is such a timesaver on ditches and swales

Man that pivot bucket works well. Right tool for the right job
Great quick easy job! Love it when the simple jobs come along time to time! 👊
Awesome job, I have to dig mine with a shovel about 100' but not that wide .
It amazes me how you can get this so smooth without hardly any digging
Looks great Chris 😀. Nice and smooth too.
Neat little project bro, the bloke bank rolling it seams happy too. Safe travels

Once more a nice clean job Mike uk

Great Job! As Usual!
Probably should have brought out a Bucyrus dragline for this one

Do you go by Chris or Letsdig18 at the workaholics anonymous meeting?
I call it having a good work ethic.

Ive been offered some awesome deals to get one but Ive just decided that for what I do a thumb works best for me

Hey Chris what backhoe do you have
Bro look into getting a 360 rotating bucket it will make jobs like this easy.
Good 👍 job
What brand tilt coupler do you have on the yanmar ?
Check out hedblom and his bucket work
What tilt bucket do you run on your mini?
I thought that was the president going past in his buggy
Does any of the work you do ever require a permit from the Army Corp? If so how are they to deal with in the Carolinas?
a few of the big pond jobs. its make a simple job take a year or more pretty much

Great job but do you ever get to dig in dry dirt. 😀😂😀
not this year
North Carolina doesn't have any dry dirt.
For what its worth, I kinda like these simple jobs. At least you're not seeding and strawing, Why is strawing not a word? Strawin'? Nope.
Can only imagine how you'd get these small jobs done if those mini-excavators hadn't been invented, lol.

Shovel, and a good back. All to soon, it would become a bad back.

Mud sticks have a warning on them. Only to be used if under 30 years old. 😉
I hear that!
good video
Brilliant 😉😉😉
Hi Chris, how much does the mini weigh? Thanks.
it’s almost a 13,000 pound machine
it’s a vio55 you can get the stats on it from yanmars website
The guy that invented the grading bucket must have had Chris in mind.
Haha I know who lives there 😉
I wonder.. How much would an "easy" job like this cost? 300 some feet of ditch. Like $2000-3000? Depending on how much you haul out or not?
That pile of topsoil hidden behind a screen of trees will be there longer than it takes all the Appalachian Mountains to wear down to flat plains.
Penny Wise, Pound Foolish. Digging a Ditch this length with a Shovel is a waste of time/energy. 🤪
But if Chris wasn’t there, you use what you have!
Good exercise, though.
I thought Chris said that Chris would have to shovel it in first before the plastic. Apparently, homeowner is in a hurry
That should hold all the water.

How about investing some money buying a V-shaped bucket

V shape buckets are locked into a specific size. Much easier to adapt width using the tilt grading bucket.
that for digging ditches you never plan to maintain because the sides would be so steep you could not mow it like this one
