Hello Chris, I rarely comment on any videos, but after I found your site I have to confess I have been binge watching your videos. I not only like what I see and hear but your attitude and commitment to excellence on your projects resonates with me . I see a life time of experience in not only the handling of equipment but also all your experiences in processing your projects start to finish being brought together on the project you are on in the video you post. This post may get long but may be the only one from me, so here is what I see in action on some of your projects, 1) if you haven’t got time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it over? 2) machines are as good as the maintenance programs that support them. Reference to greasing pins bushings, oil level checks and changes.3) problems are opportunities in disguise and you sir are a master at finding those opportunities. 4) I see an attitude of “ it is what it is, so work with it.” 4) I like the fact you take time to help family and friends, it speaks well of you sir. It is said what you do speaks louder than what you say. To conclude, I used to work on those machines, mostly portable line boring and weld repair, pin manufacturing, and custom bushing machining and hardening. AME appears to be a good company to work with and their use of hardox plate is a long wearing and good choice of materials for the long haul. I wish you the best young man and stay the course, looking forward to more videos and commentaries..
I think it's admirable that you're able to work and put out videos almost every day, thank you for that! I like watching your videos because you are a great operator and you put out some great content. I've seen others try and it's tough to watch! lol Keep up the good work! ( I don't even watch tv anymore)
i like the way that you take great pains not to leave yourself any more work than you hae to do.the sign of a real craftsman.as a retired toolmaker of 40+years i always told the youngsters ,work smarter not harder you wont be young forever.
Exemplary work 👍. Always great seeing a silk purse made from a sows ear. Has to be hard dealing with the people who control these projects and don’t have a clue about what really needs to be done. 🇺🇸🦅🌏⚓️🇺🇸🙏
If I lived close to chris, he is one guy I think I would truly enjoy working with, all his equipment is nice, he seems super fair to his employees, an I could learn alot from him!!! I've learned so much just by watching an listening to his videos. I've been doing construction since I was 18, an I learn something every day, and watching his videos I learn even more!!!
Rolling rocks looks like the egg rolling at the White house on Easter! In at daybrake and completed back at office before sundown. Satisfaction at its finest! Thank you for taking us to work with you! I enjoy spending part of the day with you!
Chris you now have the right grade for the ditch. The whole shape of the ditch is much improved. Skiing down the hillside. Even the tree looks better. Engineers 🥸
Just dropping by wanted to thank you for putting me on to your method of removing saturated soils and making sure the grade is right before putting anything down on top it’s definitely put me in a comfortable place at work. You see it all the time especially with driveways where the potholes always come back. They shouldn’t come back if you did it right. 🤙🏼. Edit: LMFAO at that tree glad you saved it
Wow! Just watching, you can see that it was an aggravating, time consuming, pain in the backside process. I agree 100%. That tree should have been pulled out of there. But, once again, you were able to turn a mess into a monument.
Oh how I needed this mindless video of you digging dirt ( not that what you do is mindless by any stretch of the imagination)! Something to take my mind off the past couple of days happening.
Just a little suggestion....the next time you have to do a job like this, try laying plywood down the hill and let the dump truck dump the rocks on the plywood. It might get down to you better that way you don't have to keep going up the hill to drag the rocks down...
When the on site video started, I thought "if I notice the grade on the video, it must have been pretty darn steep," then watched you climb that mini-ex down and wow. Then I thought there was no easy way to get rip-rap down that hill and into that ditch. Looks like I was right twice in a row, that's a record for me. (Just ask my wife.)
Part of the fun is thinking how this project is going to play out, never do though. Not being in that field looks like a lot of innovative work in one day. Congratulations Chris!
This looked like a great project for you and Justin ,I could see y’all almost making a game out how to get the rock down the hill.lol your working conditions do vary a lot.👍👍👍😎😎😎
That does look 100% better! Rough raking those rocks downhill.. Was thinking, maybe a couple sheets of plywood at the top might help, but those are some big rocks!
It would be much less efficient, but I think I would have amused myself by trying to bowl the rocks down the hill one at a time. Probably not for three truckloads though. And I would probably owe John for a new windshield on the mini.
Indeed you did get it knocked out., very tidy job brother, not what you'd call a small job operating on the side of a hill..., all completed in a day and all done right.., Lesson to be learned here: Good honest, fast easy money is the best kind of money to make... you can take that to the bank!.
that looked like a ballache of a job. Maybe when the truck dumped the stones, having several builders chipboards placed on the slope couldve helped the stone slide/roll to the bottom. Save alot of time :D
Buying and maintenance of heavy Equipment is very expensive. That why working alot is needed. Take lots money to operate. Chris is just a very hard worker, dedicated to succeed.
As kids, it took us awhile, but all the neighborhood boys were in on it, we cleared out a storm drain one rock at a time throwing them all into the pond. 😂😂 Every now and then you take the exact next scoop that I would’ve. But obviously it would take me ten times longer.
Everybody keeps saying use some old plywood as a ramp to get the rocks rolling but im pretty sure dropping 20 tons of big rocks on some old plywood would just mix chunks of broken plywood in with the rocks
Another professional job done by a professional operator, lol. But anyway brother you and John and yawls families y’all stay safe and man keep the videos coming
Looked like Bill was a little out of his comfort zone a the top pushing rocks down, maybe because he didn't want to be rolling down too? Even on camera I could see it was a wee bit steep and you used the bucket as a ski going down, I was thinking how is he planning on getting back up the hill? lol 😂
Wow all the Rocks for the ditch. Looks nice now that the water Can flow nicely into the pond without a hassel. I like the netting that covering the graded area and the straw on Top of it. Dont know about the tree Tho 🤣. Doesent make sence. Good job chris 😍💪
There when you were raking 1 rock at a time down the hill, I thought, somethings wrong. Chris done gone to milkin the clock right on the video! Then you recovered, whew!
I love tress hell my property is 80% forest but i have no problem removing trees that inhibit projects or don't grow well. that one is in both categories you can always plant more trees that are more appropriate ive got a grove of thorny crab apple trees that i'm in the process of getting rid of to replace with useful fruit trees
Just a thought for "the next time",,, three sheets of plywood under where John dumps rocks out should keep momentum for them to roll down further. You must have gotten this job from the city as others may have put in a bid of 3 working days and you can do it in One. Stay warm and dry tonight and Friday up there.
Watching you try to keep the dirt out of the stone got me to wondering. Could an old worn out bucket that you didn't want to use for digging anymore be modified for picking up the stone? If the bottom of the bucket was cut out and replaced with a rebar mesh, I would think the dirt would fall through when the bucket was shaken. Just a thought for you to ponder.
You need to find an old dump box from a 50's or 60's dump truck. Set it up on some type of slide rails to move it around. Would make moving that rock easier
Trying to catch the rocks one by one as they come down the hill reminds me of playing Croquet when we're growing up, all that's missing is the wire hoops, the bucket would be the club.
just a final thought, kept thinking on how to get those rocks down the hill effectively and efficiently for the frequency of use / need . last spit ball idea was a basic shoe horn made from plate steel kind of a square funnel that trucks could dump onto but with a slight narrowing effect. small enough to be transportable when needed and then you could use your muck mats as bouncers to send them down the hill as needed. but i have no experience or expertise to offer an opinion, but i just did. sorry
You need to get a Swiss or German yodeler guy in Liederhosen and one of those long horns they blow in the Alps to create a small avalanche to get all them rocks down the hill.
just a idea ,, someone could have posted ?? over 400 comments . put plywood down temp.. on the ground with post dump rock on the plywood may help rock slide down the hill ,, could also put side boards on the plywood to guide the rock .. like a kids slide .. great video .
2 questions. 1) wouldn’t it have been easier to push the rocks down the hill with the blade on the mini? 2) why not use the beautiful Takeuchi skid loader to move the rock down the hill and pile?
One of these days some smart feller (I was tempted) is gonna come up with a combination grading/digging bucket that’ll be the greatest thing since tips on shoelaces. Retractable digging teeth or something.
disclaimer... I know nothing about working this equipment that I haven't learned from watching you. But I think for the investment of about 6 sheets of plywood which you could reuse somehow you could have got that rock to slide a lot farther down the hill and avoided a lot of trouble and gas. But as noted, I've not done this before.

If you wanted that load of rock to stay on the top of the hill it would have all rolled down lol. Nice work as usual. Cheers.
Sweet ! Looks great and did it all in one day.. Community is fortunate to have you around.
two men, two machines, some dirt and rock, better than it was originally!! Good job as always Chris!!
Great job. Worthy of a re-visit to show off when it's all grown back in and looking as it should!
Hi Steve Cobb happy new year
The lights look great. Had to be aggravating shoveling the down the hill. Great job looks good. Stay safe

I love it how you anchored down with the blade at 16:40, nice and calm no problems!

Nice work as usual Chris.
That’s a pretty steep hill sir ! Top job ! 👍🏻

Another fine job completed, Rocking and Rolling..........
Please support my channel,,
Another great video and certainly enjoyable to watch during lockdown in the UK. Can't wait to get back on a 360 machine again getting some work done
Rock & roll-a-thon. 👍
Like your new blinky - blinky lights too!
Nice looking swell. It’s always satisfying after digging a swell to see water actually flowing lol
Just dropping by wanted to thank you for putting me on to your method of removing saturated soils and making sure the grade is right before putting anything down on top it’s definitely put me in a comfortable place at work. Yeah Chris jobs like that are tough with no access, that hill was pretty steep, you did a good job on placing the rip rap, thanks for sharing.
Wow! Just watching, you can see that it was an aggravating, time consuming, pain in the backside process.
I agree 100%. That tree should have been pulled out of there.
But, once again, you were able to turn a mess into a monument.
I was surprised you didn't start at the other end so you were not cleaning up the same spot over and over. You are a great operator.
Oh how I needed this mindless video of you digging dirt ( not that what you do is mindless by any stretch of the imagination)! Something to take my mind off the past couple of days happening.
Chris you always start with a turd and turn it into a thing of beauty! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Just a little suggestion....the next time you have to do a job like this, try laying plywood down the hill and let the dump truck dump the rocks on the plywood. It might get down to you better that way you don't have to keep going up the hill to drag the rocks down...
Tough staging area. Nice work!
Another Quality Job by Chris. There is Plenty of Rock Ready for the next Big Rain. 👍
Nice to see it’s not raining and nice to see a job where it’s not a sloppy mess 😂😂
Awww, they were cuddling together on the trailer!
It really slows you down because you want to avoid the dirt as much as possible. Good work
Man what a long tedious job! Must feel good to have knocked it out in a day. Looks great.
WOW! What a tedious task that was, But Chris prevails again. 🙂
I love work, can watch it all day long.
The rock on a barge or such floating on the pond would have been handy! What a tough job. What skills used.
Good job during and after the fact. Love watching a pro, thanks for the videos!
Great video there Chris looked great. The struggle is real on the hill climb.
Chris bless you. We need this video in these hard times.
Agree

The control you have over a 360 is about as good as it gets. Let's hope the new year will be a lot better than the last! Keep on diggin' ! :)
This looked like a great project for you and Justin ,I could see y’all almost making a game out how to get the rock down the hill.lol your working conditions do vary a lot.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Love the rocks rounding down the hill
Looking good Chris, that’s a good sized job to bang out in one day especially this time of year when the sun shine is short.
Chris few sheets of plywood on the hill, homemade rock ski slope 😁
That's a mighty fine pile of rocks you got there, Chris. A nice break from all the recent mud. I bet.
Indeed you did get it knocked out., very tidy job brother, not what you'd call a small job operating on the side of a hill..., all completed in a day and all done right.., Lesson to be learned here: Good honest, fast easy money is the best kind of money to make... you can take that to the bank!.
What a ball ache job. Looked good though at the end. I wonder how long those rebar protectors will stay on?

That was one wicked hill you were working on. I swear I heard and air plane going over head. Thanks for sharing your video with us. Ed
Another good days work there Chris 👍👍

If you hadn't wanted it at the bottom, it would have every bit rolled down. What a pain in the rear job. Came out looking good as always.
Real nice job on the repair looks awesome .
Your Friend Ol' Bill must watch your videos. Like us, when you release one, we stop what we're doing to watch.
I usually find your videos relaxing to watch but this one pained me on soooo many levels.....
Everybody keeps saying use some old plywood as a ramp to get the rocks rolling but im pretty sure dropping 20 tons of big rocks on some old plywood would just mix chunks of broken plywood in with the rocks
yes then I would have to pick plywood out of the rock all day
Awesome job Chris
What a beautiful job, mate.
I can hear Chris as the stones were coming down the hill he was saying come to daddy. LOL
😅
I bet you will be glad when this job is done and you don’t have to gather anymore rock to fill in the ditch it was a lot of work for you
Another professional job done by a professional operator, lol. But anyway brother you and John and yawls families y’all stay safe and man keep the videos coming
I just started operating a skid steer again man dose it feel good to be back in the seat. Nice vid.nice strobe light
Ronnie Williz Skid steers are the machine I least enjoy operating - the ones with wheels, at least. Rock n Roll. Trackers are much better.
@@tomrogers9467 yea wheel bobcats suck I hate them with a passion lol. The machine I run is a 550 foot pedal track bobcat.
Gives rock n roll a whole new meaning. Rip Rap Rockin. 😜😉
yep, that hill is as steep as it first looked when you went down it! Nice driving
Had a similar problem on a job put plywood down three-quarter inch helped a lot
When I first started watching you. You were busting beaver dams...kind of wish you had a recent video of doing that.
Please support my channel,,
Great looking outcome on the project! 👍🙂
Looked like Bill was a little out of his comfort zone a the top pushing rocks down, maybe because he didn't want to be rolling down too? Even on camera I could see it was a wee bit steep and you used the bucket as a ski going down, I was thinking how is he planning on getting back up the hill? lol 😂
Looks great also would what we call a stone boat help on some of these jobs?
Your a bloody legend mate, you must eat a lot of fig jam.
Wow all the Rocks for the ditch. Looks nice now that the water Can flow nicely into the pond without a hassel. I like the netting that covering the graded area and the straw on Top of it. Dont know about the tree Tho 🤣. Doesent make sence. Good job chris 😍💪
Where’s the remote conveyor 😉 Nice work as always, Chris!
AaronD Alberta I'm wondering why there wasn't a kid steer to haul that rock. Could have dumped it right on spot.
There when you were raking 1 rock at a time down the hill, I thought, somethings wrong. Chris done gone to milkin the clock right on the video! Then you recovered, whew!
I wonder if that wasn't a test to see how much or fast the pile of rock was going to move when disturbed
Looks perfect, as always.
From a mess to a masterpiece 👍👍

Hundreds of tons of rock smashing into plywood from meters up?
@@sandybarnes887 , I thought John only delivered 2 truck loads , that’s not hundreds of tons is it ?
@@kennethhume8628 more like 10 or more?
This job was a bit rocky in places bro, turned out nice though. Safe travels

Dang, what a job! I would have just had the pipe extended if I was the customer.
Should have put down some plié wood. Still love the videos and always keeping it interesting!!!
Steep grades are dangerous but finished product looks great 👍

2 questions.
1) wouldn’t it have been easier to push the rocks down the hill with the blade on the mini?

I can answer#2...too steep for the skid steer. He barely got the mini x up there.
This the best ASMR channel on TH-cam !!!
Didn’t see all the rock delivered, but wondering if you tried raising the bed up 1/2 of the way before releasing the pin on the tailgate?
