All electronic based traction control systems without mechanical lock are REACTIVE - because they are activated AFTER slip and in the first moment 4x2 truck can be driven only one wheel. With mechanicaly locked differential is driven with 2 wheels immediately from start. Good solution is limited slip differential, but this one don't beat mechanical difflock. Good truck driver is not long legs breasty blonde woman and can operate simple difflock switch.

Jozko Mrkvicka do you not know anything about hydro drive?? This is most likely a cheaper version of it as not everyone can afford the expensive hydro drive
Jozko Mrkvicka mechanical LSD is the way to go but the amount of differential loads and stress placed on these it's probably a cheaper option in the long term maintenance even though it may not be the best solution.
i always wondered why they didnt use breaks like this. because if its already got power to breal them free easily it can give up a little for this method which is much cheaper and probably simpler to work. tho it may not be cause if its too slow to act on super soft ground or it breaks the spinning wheel too hard itll just spin the other and start cycling back and fourth between the two
Many brands of regular cars have had this actually. My 2010 Honda Civic has hills tart assist, but unlike the system in this video the brake pressure is held indefinitely until I push the accelerator.

Sounds like a complicated system that will break down and also put excessive wear on brakes and differentials to compensate for drivers that don't know how to drive. And the one second delay release of the brakes? Really it's already an automatic trans? Imagine what dummies would do with the clutch pedal

I'd go for a worm drive system as seen in unimogs and the such, mechanical, no need to service, no need to adjust just drive

In worst case scenario with AWD you have only one driving wheel. With 4WD you always atleast two driving wheels. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
