Good job ! I'll try. But I only throw walking in the sea with water above my knees, do you think this throw will do it? I think the weights will touch the water.
@MightyKillah Certainly! This is the best technique for wade fishing. Just shorten up the net & make sure your backswing is clean. Once you start powering through, your weights will be above the water. In Brazil we throw this style because we are always waste deep in water & as you retrieve your net, you are basically reloading for the next throw. I would say this technique is even better for wade fishing than off a boat
@@CastNetSniper-p5d Thank you for your precious advice. I got an 8ft mullet net by Fitec, I 'will practice with it. My goal is to buy and master a 13ft or 14ft traditional style. I think the traditional style cat net is better for wade fishing.
Thank you gor the details about the loading as the key to opening. I've resisted a backhand throw until I saw your video. But I'm almost never throwing for distance because of the need for a precision placement to miss rocks.
@garysapper8716 Awesome! You pack it like a parachute & once it shoots out, it opens really nice. You are correct about losing a bit of accuracy because you can't lock eyes on the target, but hopefully, you will be able to throw over & past obstacles. Definitely try it out, you will be impressed with how much more power you can generate!
The turn is the most important part! It's not a Korean method, they pull a section of net behind their elbow & swing perpendicular to their target. It has alot of similarities with the Chinese throwing style, except you use 2 hands instead of one Glad you enjoyed the video!
This is a awesome tutorial I just started throwing a cast net I have a 3 ft rn I want to learn how to throw a bigger one much love definitely gonna to get this technique down
Thanks man! With some practice, you will throw it like a BOSS. You can throw the little nets forhand, but when you need serious power with a bigger net, this technique is perfect 👌
@@CastNetSniper-p5d awesome thanks for the advice. Do you think I should pick up a bigger net now and start practicing or wait till I get the 3 foot one down?
It's hard to catch big fish in a 3 foot net, but it will definitely get you some bait. I would definitely recommend a 6-8 foot net to start with & you will get waaay more fish with it! It's also more fun to throw than the little bait nets
@@CastNetSniper-p5dalright I’m off tomorrow so we know what ima do tomorrow! Thanks for the advice I’ll pick up a bigger one tomorrow and try this technique out all day. I can let you know how I did much love ❤
Interesting tutorial...but when I throw, the back of the net travels forward to form a crescent. Can't seem to keep the back of the net from following the leading edge? Goes about 1/3 of the way too far? Any advice on this?
It's all about timing, the movement is slow at first then you rip it forward really hard. I will do a follow up video about additional tips and tricks to troubleshoot this technique, since it can be very tricky to get the right amount of opening power (If you overdo it, the net snaps back shut). I think you might be muscling it a bit too hard & slow it down a bit at first & give it gas on the pull through. Try that & let me know if it helps out!
I have to admit,, I've never seen this technique before! But,,, I throw (mostly) from a fishing pier that 14' - 20' above the surface of the water. I also have to contend with a 3 1/2' handrail. This technique would work well with my shoreline throws,, and I thank you for that,, but how could I use it for off of the fishing pier? Remember,, I have to throw over that railing,, as well as having the net open just before hitting the water. If it was to be fully open 14' in the air, by the time it got to the water, it would have collapsed! I would appreciate your input on this!
Definitely give it a try! I have thrown this technique off tall piers, but you have to stand back a bit. Give it less opening power on the throw & you will have to time it right. You will probably have to double your rope tho Haha
@abdullahtieflatief6179 you definitely can, but a 5 foot net is so light, you can easily throw that forhand & still get plenty of range. This technique is best with the bigger and heavier nets
I went to the Leesburg boat ramp this morning and there was this guy launching his boat that sounds just like you and I was wondering if you where there this morning
@ first throw on the cast net caught a nice bass then a bunch of shiners and bluegill after. My goal one day is to catch a crappie on rod and reel or cast netting never caught one.
@b1u491 Nice! I hit an area that was loaded with Crappie, Gizzard Shad, and tons of other fish. It's off the fishing pier at the Hickory Point RecreationPark. Throw towards the Lilly pads & you will get a Crappie. Unfortunately they are listed as a game fish, so I can't keep any of them, but I have caught some huge ones Lol
@@CastNetSniper-p5d ight thanks I’ll look at it. Also if you ever go to the leesburg boat ramp I would be careful because there is a lot of logs that the net can and will get stuck and broken on
Thanks Man! Glad you enjoyed the tutorial & let me know how it works for you. Your channel is pretty awesome BTW, subbed you back & looking forward to some fish cooking videos! 🍽
I have supplies on order for my own brand of cast nets, but we are still in the design phase. Once I get it rolling, I'm going to hook you up with a sweet net! I got some really cool things in the works 😎
@b1u491 You should be able to find a Mono Cast net in Orlando 10' for around $150 hand made on Facebook marketplace. You can tell they are handmade by looking at the lead-line & seeing the homemade weights. They catch a ton of fish, but just be warned that they are fragile. The nets I am designing are going to be more premium, but hopefully way more durable & meant for everyday fishing 🐟
@richardvila3 Glad I could show you! This method was taught to me in a little fishing village in Brazil 🇧🇷 many years ago. Those guys only used nets & they were fantastic fishermen.
Tried to fish tonight, but caught nothing. So I went to cast netting, and if you cast where there is a light shining somewhere in the water you are going to get so many baitfish. (At least where I went)
@b1u491 I've actually heard nighttime cast net fishing is really productive (although it seriously increases your chances of netting a gator Haha) I might have to try this!
You so right is the best way to throw fishing cast net the brazil way. Thanks for teaching

@Kiwi_T-Bone You are welcome, let me know how it works out for you!
Good anyhow have you tried 16ft japanese net?
Is this tutorial for right or left hand person?
@ryeckley7267 I throw right handed. You put 90% of weights into your strong hand. If you are left handed, you load the weights into your left hand 👍
