I really hope they try to make this show their own. Watching Top Gear USA was like watching the first season of The Office US, like they were trying really hard to be like the UK version but only found their chemistry when they strayed off the path. Best of luck MotorTrend!

This was way more interesting then the show itself.
3 strangers pretending to know each other and faking their way through a season so they can tear up cars for fun.
They do know each other lol, they’re good friends. You can google ya? Rob and Dax have been friends for years

I liked the other cast better.

I would watch this if it came on the MT channel i already pay for with direct tv... not paying for an app. sorry not sorry. If this version of US Top Gear fails its because of the app. Not the cast.
If you don't like it, don't watch it, simple as that. Nobody is stopping you from watching the original series or Clarkson's show on Amazon. Some people may enjoy all iterations of Top Gear, even though the original cast is by far the best.
Wishing this series a success. I really loved the original Top Gear with Jeremy, James, Hammond and the Stig. Hope these guys can carry.

Guy that picks foreign cars with a lot of engineering, guy who picks older dinosaur of cars from the big three, and the guy that picks something that makes sense but screws up the mods. Where have I seen this formula before?

History and Top Gear got into it and they split ways because History wanted the show to be scripted
I tried watching it but could not finish it was so cheese and unbelievable. No way where those cars-trucks bought and outfitted under 5k. No way was the van stuck on that little hill.
I can actually believe the van getting stuck. 2000 pounds of water moving around in a van that looks like it is from the 80s. The 80s had some pretty gutless motors matched up to some transmissions with poor gear. The combination makes it a pain to move

Dax is the only one who has any really personality. The entire show is just a copy of the old TG USA, which is a copy of the real Top Gear...
Its because everyone is comparing any new car show to them, thats why the producers almost always somehow copy the trio so that viewers are familiar with it. Which ironically makes it not unique anymore :/ even though the hosts have potential

Motortrend, some constructive advice. I grew up watching this channel and even am an original subscriber of mtod. But who is this show for. I'm sorry but general public will not find it entertaining. You might get some subscriptions just for the name "top gear" but how long will those last? I love Jethro but I didn't like this show. In the first episode you had a bunch of super cars and no testing of them at all. I get more information about their performance from watching carwow. The car reviews are done by Dax and he is a nice guy but he is not an automotive journalist. The reviews done by him are shot well but feel extremely amateur. Meanwhile Jethro is on the cast and he is never once allowed to express his car knowledge. No more head 2 head, ignition you have lost anyone who goes to you for actual information. I don't mind paying for content but I will not pay for bad content.
I think Top Gear America needs to die as an idea. I didn't hate this show but it doesn't have the same charisma, for sure. Honestly, if I was Motortrend, I'd throw some money at Tony Angelo's TH-cam channel and develop that into another show. It would be cheaper than this and we(the consumer) would learn more.

Btw it would probably help if you gave the jobs to ppl who actually know cars and know what they are talking about! Hey there is an idea! Sure it’s funny puttin comedians in like the last one but nobody knows these guys ... how is anyone supposed to take a real opinion from someone who knows nothing but what they are reading in their script!
