Thank you! As a former member of The Village and resident of Flower Mound, TX, I have worked out with Matt at the local CrossFit so I’ve seen him put in the work ;)
More importantly, this is a topic with needs to be broached with many in the church, especially down here in the Bible Belt. Joel Salatin has a great “talk/sermon” called Does God Care which does a great job addressing how we, as Christians, should approach God production and the treatment of the animals and the soil we use to feed ourselves.
The reason we are no longer at The Village, or in Flower Mound, is because we moved to East Texas to start a regenerative farm, raising animals in a way that honors their design.

I wish every church had a fitness trainer(s)/nutrition coach(s) type of deal going on.

Thank you so much for having this vitally important conversation! I'm so encouraged to see the Bride of Christ is finally reforming more to His word about health and nutrition. I also hope you can have Matt back on again to talk even more. Maybe bring up Genesis 9:2-3, Deuteronomy 32:12-18, & 3 John 1:1-3. Also would love to hear you guys explain what Jesus really meant when He declared all foods clean and what He didn't mean. Also, how the sheet coming down from heaven that Peter saw in a vision didn't have doughnuts, ho hos, and ding dongs on it. This episode was one of your best yet. Keep up the great, God glorifying work, brother!

This code is apropo to a convo I was having w/ my pastor and other church members this past week in Puerto Rico, while he was down there building up his third church and saving souls. I showed before and after pics and it’s amazing how differently they view me now after seeing that transformation. At first ppl treated my like some vain guy who’s full of himself, and since I was the new guy at this church a lot of the men who’re very obese don’t like me very much. A lot of them are followers and hate having to think for themselves and use “I’m not going to speak that into existence” as a cope to ignore reality and the consequences of ignoring reality. Our pastor rebukes a lot of that “religious” stuff but he hasn’t touched on physical fitness a lot. Maybe I can usher into his mind a new idea. I already gave he and his wife tips on how to lose weight since they have a mini competition going on for who pays their vacation together.

Physical training is also been proven to be very good for your mental health as well and the Bible refers to the mind a lot.

Not sure if the church would be willing to give up Sunday morning donuts! My church calls them protein discs which always gets a laugh but makes me cringe.

In the Marines, we had a more appropriate name: Fat pills. See of that will take hold ;)

Hey I forgot which video it was exactly where you talked about eating pork. In Acts that dream Peter had was not about food in Acts. Acts 10:28 explains it was about viewing other people that were not Jews as unclean.
