Just got charged $400 by Tesla service to replace the 16V battery on my 2024 Model 3 Highland with only 327km, claiming that I left it sitting unused for too long without the CCS2 cable plugged in. The high voltage battery had about 90% of charge at the time.
Tesla states that all EVs need to be plugged in if they will be unused for quite some time. However, my BMW iX3 has stayed unused much longer without issues.
Will never buy a Tesla ever again.

Simple solution: Don't buy a Tesla.

I'm not a fan of Tesla. But I should say all modern car brands are extremely far from being reliable. Both EVs and fuel-powered.
