I have a 2023 mustang gt And i have a 2016 golf r I love the sound of the stang and the look. But my golf r is a absolute all.paw weapon. I have a light tune on my golf r and the quickest 0-100 I've done is 3.84 sec....not bad for a 4cyl auto.... love my v8 stang though.
Wow, it's a revelation how close the auto Mustang Ecoboost acceleration to 100km/hr is to that of the auto Mustang GT, 5.54sec vs 5.02sec, and it is great that these tests where conducted at the same location and under the same conditions. I was probably hoping for about 4.7 secs for this updated GT. Interestingly, when the 2020 Ford Mustang GT auto was tested (on the private road) it achieved 4.98sec, and the 2021 auto was 4.94sec, thereby it appears that the new updated Mustang is very similar. Also, the 2020 Ford Mustang 2.3 High Performance (Ecoboost) achieved 5.58sec, thereby the updated Ecoboost is about the same. It is probably fair to say that there has been no gains in the 0 to 100 km/hr with the updated Mustang GT & Ecoboost to that of the previous model.
@@CoinLaundry500 - the fuel consumption would be horrendous, at the moment my 2L sequential turbo with 10-speed in 2WD (so RWD) does around 8.4L per 100km and while its a slug off the line once its at speed pulls like a train..
I've had the pleasure of driving the following V8's. 302ci Cleveland (4.9L Carby), 351ci Windsor and Cleveland and the 302ci Windsor (fuel injection) 5.4L BOSS 260 (XR8) & 290 (GT) 5.0L Miami SC (re: Coyote) 308ci GMH Carby and 304ci GMH Fuel Injection as well as a stroker 5.7L Toyota Turbo diesel v8 (both 4,7 and 5.7L) various small capacity BWM V8 some NA and some turbo. and of all thing a Rover 4.6L V8 which was a heap of shit.
also various GMH Commodores with those awful LS garbage boat anchors 9note: in standard form not modded), yeash, anything that needs over 4,500rpm to start making peak torque is pure trash.

Great review, thank you. Greatly impressive car too. Who wouldn't kill for that 5.0 Stang in their garage?! Was very seriously considering the auto GT. Gorgeous looking and sounding. Have changed my mind and will be sticking with my Sprint 6. 0-100kph in 4.5 secs. Stock standard car @ 370kws, 650nm, 14.5psi boost, comfy 4-dr, very accurate steering and good handling. Australian. History. Australia . . . the old saying - "you don't know what you have until you don't have it anymore". I've revisited that phrase often more recently . Pretty sure my Sprint will outlast me and go to my sons. Nothing else comes close to the formula. Would have loved that Mustang look and sound though! Cheers and happy Christmas all. 🙂
Prefer the looks of the S550 to be honest, this looks like it's trying too hard. And I don't care how fast the 4 banger is in a straight line. No V8 and no manual = no Mustang. The people complaining it's not as quick as a Golf or whatever are also missing rhe point of a muscle car. You don't buy a Mustang to beat the lap record, you buy one because it's fun and because of the feeling it gives you. In any case, it's brilliant that we can still buy cars like this. Thankyou Ford for making it.

@@mrz1281 problem with aftermarket supercharger is intake plenum and the extra plumbing needed for the intercooler, an air-air inter-cooler can only workout as much as the blower can handle. It will make bottom end way to strong (so there goes traction) but up high? again supercharger are limited, look at the "Miami" version of the Coyote in Falcon XR8, great bottom end and super mid range but up high yeah the intake air temp were hitting 100+ which is not good for engine life down the track.

in the states the guys are getting under 4s 0-60 times in the auto on stock tyres. So maybe a bit rougher on the launch. because as we know 460hp should theooretically be capable of much better than 5s. Stangmode, for example hit 3.8s on the launch with a press car
Its strange that Ford gave the Aus press a bunch of cars in Atlas Blue, Rapid Red and Yellow Splash, all of which are colours that have been dropped for the MY25 version. So if you're interested in an S650 Mustang you will need to choose a different colour.

they have no choice, its part of ADR for emissions controls. and yes its annoying even i the Everest and the previous Escape I owned. anything Euro 6 has to have it.
I love the look of the Mustangs. The GT 500 looks like a muscle car should. My favourite looking car of today. Never likely to drive one so doesn't matter, but wouldn't want all that tacky electronic crap, or a touch screen. If I could get that body shell and kit it out with 90's tech, that would be close to my perfect car.
I'd be fine with the Mustang Turbo, more than enough bottom end and mid range torque and decent top end and you can lock out the gearing to make it a 7 speed auto.
There’s something about those white gauges, they look like they’ve been taken from a 1990’s Nissan, like a vzr pulsar or something. Or do they harken back to a previous generation mustang? Either way, it looks wrong imo. Lucky they can be changed.
Hey Brett did you mention the ride quality as a what the adjustable dampers are like in each mode? Looks really stiff on that mountain road you always drive on going by the constant jitters I see, bonnet going up and down quite rapidly..
Sorry I missed that. The red GT had the MagneRide option (includes red brakes), and it rode very nicely for a sports car. No complaints here - maybe that’s why I failed to mention that area. Apologies. It soaks up bumps with a quality rubbery feel, perfect for a sports car, and no crashing or banging from inside the cabin. Good body stability though and no bodyroll.

I respect your opinions a lot (which is why I asked your thoughts on the M340i vs m550i ride quality a few weeks back ) as you're always someone who talks about the ride quality. I've had many spine operations since I was a kid and have chronic spine issues so suspension for me is the first thing that concerns me. So many cars are overly stiff these days ( my wife's Cerato Gt one of them) so I love it when a manufacturer sets the car up where the comfort mode is actually comfortable for day to day use. Thanks again for the reply mate.
Good review... as always mate......I have an fn gt s550, Times seem to be quicker against the s650...? Im a little bias but s650 doesnt look as good... I did have a s650 auto ecoboost vert in haiwaii a few weeks ago and it goes well.. but sounds like an outboard evinrude.....no twin humps on the dash is a big let down.. I did like the tech but not the layout...Loose the rearend..it looks like a kia or hyundia.... BIG NO .......they need to maintain the muscle car look for the(us) old guys...the only reason I bought mine..

The other guy also doing runs with me with his own Vbox saw very similar results. Are you talking about American spec? Because they have different outputs - the Dark Horse is 373kW vs the Aussie spec 349kW.

5.34? Mine gets to 60 in 4.0. Why is it that I can consistently beat these guys? I'm just an average guy. I think their readings are off or maybe my readings are off, and all sports cars take an extra second and a half from 0-60.
darkhorse in cn have only 455hp and I saw someone did 4.8. We don't have GT here, the darkhorse with power reduction for emissions is the only V8 option. Very difficult to launch tho, many people stuck at 6 or more

That digital display is just … 😂 a disappointment, gives you the feeling that the design crews said .. Naaa no one will notice anyway.. Also it’s 0-100 is not that impressive anymore.

It's not bad for a NA manual. A turbo car with equivalent hp and torque will nearly always beat NA in 0-100 times - but then you're just driving driving a buzz box with a turbo (i.e Golf).

Ugly, Side view quarter panel looks like a Camaro, Hood with vent in the center of the hood also stollen from the 2019 Camaros, Audi lights headlights and dash screens, Dual throttle bodies like a Benz ect. They just said we’re copying everyone 😂.

That e-drift brake lever being on the off side of the transmission tunnel will be super awkward to use! lazy from Ford on that.

Those acceleration times are slower than my fgx xr8.The XR8 in ideal conditions has done a 4.5 seconds to 100. And the 1/4 mile in 13 dead.

0 -100 time is the same as a standard 535d BMW I bought in 2013. (3l twin turbo diesel). It didn't even sound like a diesel and revved to 6000 rpm.

Start up/idle sounds really nice but other than that it sounds awful...one of the worst sounding V8's of all time. Easily fixed I guess
