Running Some Old, Cheap Model Trains

With a collection of around 65 locomotives (not including models awaiting repairs and a return to operation, or WIP kitbuilds), I thought I’d show off a few of them running, many haven’t costed me much over £30, my most expensive (a Wrenn Castle) didn’t surpass £80, and I’ve had others picked up in a price range of less than £5, or even had perfectly useable models simply be given to me for free because the original owners didn’t want them! (In the case of my Dublo Duchess, Lima BR80 and Triang B-B unit)
Railway modelling is only as expensive as you make it, with some work an older model can look and run as well as the modern offerings!

Literally says at the end that the most expensive didn’t go over £80 kid, I’ve had models as cheap as £5 in need of minor work and I’ve been donated perfectly functional models by people who simply didn’t want them

The old Lima and Hornby Kings are decent lookers for the price, run well too, likewise with the old Hornby 4-4-0 Counties

@@MilkshakeFloof whilst I remember, the old Airfix 6100 and Castles are good machines too, the Mainline Dean Goods is too (which was inherited from Airfix when they went bust), my personal experience with the Airfix 1400 isn’t the best though so I can’t say much good for that
