It was so incredible to see Larry Drake play this evil role. When this film came out, he was playing the only likeable character, a shy mentally challenged man, on television's L.A. Law.
At the end, I know Peyton was very soft with Durants gang, after all they did to him and his assistant, the pain Darkman inflict on them was so little in comparission
Sam Raimi was sharing a house with the Coen brothers and one was already dating Frances McDormand. Holly Hunter would hang out there too (or maybe lived there). Same year as Darkman, Sam had a cameo in the Coens' Millers Crossing.
@@williamshaw9047 The Coen brothers did a nod to Raimi's Evil Dead with the scene in Raising Arizona where the guy on the motorcycle is driving to the Arizona House and the wife is screaming.
No this was to The Shadow as he wrote a script for that film that was way to out there for the studio and it was given a hard pass. So a few things were changed and that's how audiences got Darkman.
@@greenranger452 It's very similar (almost identical) to the film The Vindicator, which also had sci-fi horror vibes and was also a revenge action film, too. Even had the whole "hero gets super strong when he's enraged".

Did you know he was in The Karate Kid?
@@williamshaw9047 After 40 years, I should probably watch that movie. I've heard Cobra Kai is awesome.
I mean he played a shy mentally challenged man in Dark Night Of The Scarecrow.
Sam Raimi wanted to make The Shadow, but the studios didn't want it. So he made this
Sucks for them I like Darkman better than the shadow movie.
I love the lighting in this seen…
At the end, I know Peyton was very soft with Durants gang, after all they did to him and his assistant, the pain Darkman inflict on them was so little in comparission
Westlake had to be freaking out and Durant & his men invoked fear in him to the point of going full-on rage
This movie deserves a proper sequel with Raimi and Neeson back. I know there were talks in 2022 , haven't heard anything lately.
Ted Raimi makes his character look like the nerdiest bad guy of all time
So true lol
He said he played the character as gay and maybe having a thing for his boss.
@@willshaw3493 lmao goddamn that's hilarious
It's funny to know that the shot of Westlake launching out of the explosion on fire (4:15) was reused in different movies and TV shows.
Sam Raimi is the man, so many iconic visuals in his filmography.
I think they did a version of it for a blooper in "Home Improvement". LOL
@@Warrior1Spartan That's right.
Not that I'm doubting you, can you cite any examples? I want to go see for myself x)
@@Conan_the_Based Well, it was used in a episode of Home Improvement, which one I'm not sure.
I loved this movie back in the day
Oh dang, that's the Fargo actress. I never realized that until now. I've seen this movie several times as a kid. Never put that together

Cool. Thanks for info. Cohen brothers are great

Sam Raimi's answer to Batman.

@@donovanbradford8231 Yeah this definitely shared a lot more in common with The Shadow than Batman.
Wrong.
1:11 Durant pushes the radio. 1:12 Oh no! 1:14 Ahh!
This story is very dark man...
Durant was a great villain.
Very sadistic
He became well well well man
Is this another classic 1990s horror movie???
I would call this more a revenge-driven superheroesque movie with horror elements to it, rather than being a full-on horror movie
@caleraizer I understand. Thank you very much my friend for replying back to me. I really appreciate it.
@@greenranger452 no worries! Happy to help

Ce n'est pas un classic mais un film oublié qui n'a pas eu de succès.
My Father had the VHS of this Film.
Man KD evil since the 90s
Parece una mezcla de spiderman de tobey mcguary y de quick and the dead de sharon stone y leonado di capriio

She got him killed
That wasnt acid. Get your facts straight
Ikr? Is weird how he gets disfigured but Ricky 's hand is intact.
holy crap what kind of werid directing is this.. is this for 6 year olds
It's a Sam Raimi movie. They're all like this
San Raimi directed this and you probably didn’t see any of his movies his movies are cool and so does this movie
