    Basically, after you use vinegar, you should brew just water about 3-4 times to flush out the residual vinegar.

  • @10bears2
    @10bears2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I always let the vinegar sit in the brewer for 30 mins then run at least a whole reservoir full of water through it to really rinse it. If you don’t your coffee will taste like vinegar.

      @@HeresWhyILikeIt I have a 2.0 K500 my kids got me for Christmas 2018. I never descaled it. I changed the filter on Christmas 2019. I always cleaned my coffee pot with vinegar. But this thing I had no clue how. Every time the clean thing came up I ignored it 😂. Till it started making noises & was slow. I Googled how to clean it with vinegar & Ur video came up. I like the fact U had fun with this made it less intimidating. But I must say I started doing this at 7am & I'm still cleaning it. But since I haven't done it in like 1 1/2 yrs, ya, still cleaning. I'm running it through every cycle. 12cup strong, 12cup regular, 12cup Hot Chocolate/Other, & 12cup Hot Water. Someone else on the other video comment stated theirs just stopped dripping after the first cup. I think calcium deposited may have clogged it. So, I'm running every cycle to make sure it's cleaned out really good. I noticed the Hot Water one really flushes the lines fast. Just wanted to share what I'm doing & how well it's going. We're not born knowing everything & some of us get so busy with life. We truly appreciate ppl like U taking time to make a video to help others & answering comments. I'm that special person, or something 😉😁🤗 (ya, I read that, was going to state something but U nailed) Thank You Again & God Bless ❤‼

    Good video though I would like to mention that your first cup of coffee post cleaning probably wasn't because you didn't clean it enough. Plastics and metals are very absorbent of what was brewed in it. You can really taste those residual flavors, especially with cleaning chemicals and vinegar. I would recommend running a pot or two of coffee through it after cleaning. Old coffee you don't want is perfect. We call this "seasoning" the machine. All professional specialty coffee baristas do (or should do) this after every brewer and machine cleanings.
    Side note (for validity): I was in the Seattle specialty coffee scene for 10+ years. Trained by barista champs and SCA judges, the best of the best.

      It is 30 minutes if you use the official Keurig solution, around 40 minutes if you use vinegar. I normally use the Keurig solution but I don’t have any right now so I am using vinegar right now.

    Suggested in Keurig coffeemaker instructions online .use filtered or bottled water
    only., Not distilled or reverse osmosis water. ( which I was using) Don't know why.

    Why don't you just run the machine with vinegar until the water comes out the sprout and shut it off and let that descale sit in the lines so it can do the job I would rather use vinegar than the harsh expensive chemicals that give you cancers vinegar and lemon juice is natural acid. Ido me descaling at bedtime and let it sit overnight or after I'm done using my Keurig and let it descale from1 to two hrs

    • @HeresWhyILikeIt
      @HeresWhyILikeIt  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1
