    Nice to see my country featured on TH-cam, I liked the way you went through editing decisions also at the end !

      Thank you - yes we really were VERY lucky. It's a cracker of a location and to have it all to yourself twice, now that was special!

    Ah this is just fantastic, Louise! Amazing shot for sure, nice seeing the edit part as well. I did like the "sunstar" photo as well quite a lot actually

    I like your videos, and this one in particular, for the explanation and thought process behind the capture and the post processing. Far too many You Tubers' videos are veering off into general blah blah and leaving only 10% on the actual photography! Well done and thank you!

      Thank you Alan. I’ll perhaps pepper this type in in the future. I know I find it helpful when I see this myself. Thanks for the steer 👍

      Thank you. I often look at people's shots and think 'how the heck did they get from that to that'. So I thought it fair to share. I didn't think my skills would stretch to exposure blending as I wanted it... something I need to learn. Thank you for the feedback Malcolm :-)

    Louise, I loved your final shot and enjoyed hearing how you edited it. Sorry about your lodgings…

      Hi Timothy, glad the editing bit worked for you. I just feel really frustrated sometimes when I look at images and think, how the heck did you make those decisions - especially when I wouldn't have thought of it myself and I want to think differently. :-)

    Ireland is often overlooked by Photographers and TH-camrs .. and then I came across your channel and I enjoyed that, it was a good watch. I have been to Ireland many times but only to see relatives they live in a tiny village and photography has to be put to one side where hospitality takes over (Guinness and Jamies and local music) but indeed it is a lovely place to visit, your picture was great at the end and it was well worth your visit! Thank you...

      Thank you Des. It was such a special place. I will be back in Ireland next year... if not in October... (if I can be persuasive ;-) ) It was such a different pace of life in Donegal and thoroughly appreciated - as is your feedback.

    To bad about having to stay inside the van for the night but the pictures look to be worth the effort .

      To be fair we were fine, just felt for the poor people having to deal with the fall out. Yes, it was worth it. 😍 Such a lovely community to experience .

    Another great result 👍🏼. I'm not new to photography, but I am to digital. I bought a 6d last year. Im shooting raw and jpeg. As I have tried some post editing with the canon software and I enjoy doing that, should I just shoot raw?

    • @louisewelcomephotography
      @louisewelcomephotography  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d say get confident first. Have JPEG as a back up but work in the raw and work out how YOU want things to look. Perhaps copy the raw and work on that so you keep the other as back up. You’ll know when you are ready to shoot raw only… when your vision looks more satisfying than the JPEG. It’s your vision, not photoshops’s or Canon’s. But you have back up until then . Ultimately ditch the JPEG’s 😉😊

    Thaks Louise! Question about the narrow roads...are they wide enough for 2 vehicles? If not, what do you do if you encounter another car coming from the opposite direction?

    • @louisewelcomephotography
      @louisewelcomephotography  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Reverse carefully to a passing place. It was only really one road which I’ll show in a further vid that made me wobble but there was such little traffic it wasn’t a problem. Often locals drove confidently ie faster than me and would beckon you to a passing place. Don’t get put off though David, it’s worth it!

      Superb! So pleased I followed your recommendation to use those chaps to convert it. The diesel heater is a God send Steve. You using yours much?
