Hi Kelsey! I use a make up brush to clean my amiibos. It's really soft, so it doesn't do anything to the painting. Love you!

This is literally the reason I started collecting Smash Amiibo! Having a real-life trophy table sounded awesome to me, so I went for it!
After completing the SSB set though I'm done, since it gets crazy with how many Super Mario, Animal Crossing, etc. Amiibo there are out there...

I adore this video with just a casual convo about demystifying Amiibos. I only recently started collecting some of them myself, not as much to use in gameplay, but more to collect and display on my video set backdrop for my channel. It’s a great topic to cover as it relates to us collectors.

Actually the Animal Crossing Amiibos work with New Leaf after an update. They just show up in an RV in a new area and you can buy special furniture from them.

I admit i wanted the benefits of all the zelda amiibos while playing BOTW that i bought one of those Amiibo Card sets for like 15$ They fit in my switch case i just use them for zelda when i need them and slide them back in so much more convient then all the actual figures

We definitely need to do one of these videos! We're missing some cards, but have everything else with the exception of SOME of the precursor Amiibo--the Pokemon Rumble figures. We also have a lot of the things that went with Amiibo--the stands, the AC card binders, and the Japan-only dioramas.

The color of the bottom of base determines the series (ex: black for smash, greenish for Zelda, dark gray for splatoon)

Im a container handler at the port of charleston, about 2 years ago we got extremlly busy with ships. i was working 120-140 hours in 2 weeks, and the reason was the west coast port crane operators went on strike. this was the same time amiibo's were coming out, i was trying to buy them but the amazon prices were crazy high and the stores only carried a few or the same ones, so because of the crane operator strike goods from japan and other pacific countries had a hard time getting goods into the U.S.
i heard some checkers talking and they said the shipping companies started to rail containers threw canada, but because of the high volume , customs just waived them there.
The quality in the sculpture and paint on an Amiibo is much better than a Funkopop

I'll never forget when I used my Wolf Link Amiibo on BotW and Wolf Link appeared in the game. All of a sudden I wasn't alone in this huge quest.

One of the better amiibos is also the loot goblin. He unlocks a portal to the vault in Diablo III to help with money and rare loot drops.

Stood in line at 4:30AM to get an Amiibo? That's dedication. There's very few things in this world that would make me wait in line for hours.
If there are 145 amiibos released and Kelsey says she is missing about 15, so she owns about 120. In the video she also said the average amiibo costs about $13 dollars with some costing more. Lets just go with the $13 dollar base figure. If you multiply 120 by 13 you get 1560. She has spent at a minimum of a little over $1500 dollars on Amiibos alone. Thats a lot of money, even for someone that owns a few video games stores.

One thing you forgot to mention is the Fire Emblem Amiibo are arguably the most useful as in FE Fates & Echoes it allows you to get those characters in the games as members of your party.
But this was a great video & it's awesome to see such a massive collection opened. I have a friend in Chicago with all of them, but they're all sealed.

Right. That's the thing that bothers me about stores like her's. What's the point of going there when she gets to just keep and hoard all the good stuff?
@@GoldenSirius replier and poster make it seem like she gets all the stuff for 100% free... When you own/work at a game store and decide to take stuff, that item still has a dollar value. So the store/person is losing out on that dollar value if the sole intention was for a profit to be made. If she gets a decent deal, what's wrong in taking one home? But hoarding the good stuff... ' _' you pair sound as salty as a salt rock rolling in the salt lands of saltyville and deserve a reality check.
Sad to say if you go into any business with collection over profit in mind, then your store will soon be bankrupt or in serious debt or by unicorn luck make money from rare pieces. If she paid for it or earned it, then that idea of hoarding is mute, since she now owns that item and can do whatever she wants with it. Game stores depending on the merchandise get it first and that offers them a chance to get the good stuff, plus being on more than good terms does offer some backroom deals in unreleased item areas and unsold stock; that some suppliers like to hold onto.
You build collections by accumulating stuff over time, adding to it, bit by bit, searching for those things that mean something to you! I have one rule in collecting and that's "only buy stuff that I like." Trawling through pages, shops, sweating over bids and hoping to get that desired item, you win but lose also. You have people with bigger wallets that can buy all day long, people who buy just to impress or belittle other collectors, perfectionists who want the 100/100 in game libraries and so on. If you paid for it then you can pretty much do whatever you want and sad to say there is nothing anyone can do about it.
If a person wants to sit on a complete unsealed double collection of Amiibos and never sell them... That's just tough luck, let them hoard away.

If you just want the amiibos for use in the game and not for exactly collecting, it is possible to buy the fake "card" versions of them. Specially for the Zelda ones, it is possible to buy all of the 22 amiibos for roughly 14 bucks. Of course, just for playing.

Box boy was sold individually in Japan and the monster hunter stories amiibos never went outside Japan. I was lucky to get all of them.
I'm sorry when I watch these collector videos I can't help but think there's a level of sickness involved. Pieces of plastic that are going to sit on the shelf. after the luster wears off that constant need to fill this insatiable appetite to collect more.
Eh. Nothing new. My grandparents started this off with Stamp collecting in the 70s. Star Wars figures in the 80s, etc... etc... I say do what ya love.

Yeah I don't mind collectors and the things they collect (I collect comics myself ) but the crazy materialism in "geek culture" is kinda ridiculous to me when i really think about it lol. maybe i'm a hippie or something but i think about stuff like where are all these pieces of plastic going to end up in 100 years? probably sitting in land fills taking a 1000 years to degrade lol.

I would to add that the Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo cards also have a special edition collaboration with Sanrio. These cards are rare and hard to find unless you live in Japan or Europe. They come in 6 in a pack for Europe and 3 in a pack for Japan. So if you get the Japanese packs, you may get duplicates. I got all 6 sanrio animal crossing villagers for 30 bucks at the time it was super rare when the update just announced. My favorites are Chai and Etoile. Can't wait to use all of them again in the Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing game along with a bunch of my animal crossing amiibos and amiibo cards.

There is a stamp on the back of the box that tells you if it’s a first print. I forgot the code, but it should be easy to look up.
I’ve only ever had 2 amiibos, Dr Mario and classic 8 bit mario. I sold them a while back but it’s funny how I got the 8 bit mario, my mom was shopping at target and she sees a line of people who say they’re waiting for a figure. She doesn’t understand what’s so special about the figure but she gets in the line, and sooner or later she buys the last 8 bit classic mario. She told me the guy standing behind her started crying because she didn’t even know what it was and she bought it, she figured I’d know, which I did. Amiibo are cool, though I personally prefer the Disney infinity figures

I would love to see a follow up to this... amiibo releases have been slowing down, still this collection should be even more impressive by now.

Wii Fit trainer was everywhere in Australia, and probably still is easy to get. My 5 favourites would be Samus Zero Suit, Baby Bowser, Yarn Yoshi Boo & Fox. Boo glows in the dark. I have a Big Yarn Yoshi too. Target was selling for half price at $30 and thankfully an acquaintance told me & got it for me. Most of favourites I have an extra, mostly from sales when they were $10 or less. Captain Falcon I never realised I had twice so have 3 of him.

Man, Kelsey is gonna need to "Praise the Sun" like crazy in order to have enough luck with getting one of those "Praise the Sun" amiibos for the upcoming Dark Souls Remastered game for the Switch. When Nintendo decides to make an amiibo based on an infamous Dark Souls meme, you know it's going to be a huge seller for sure.

Golly! I managed to resist the temptation to collect these, and instead I have bought only a select few favorite Amiibos: 8-bit Mario and Link, ROB, and Game & Watch. I'm tempted to get Goomba and Koopa Troppa, as well as Rosalina, at some point, but yes, I try to keep myself in check. :D

The only Amiibo figures, I own, are 8-bit mario/link, the classic figure 3 pack, and the mario odyssey wedding 3 pack.
