Curry sauce can only be needed to mask poor fish and chips. It would ruin decent ones.
I’ve just got back from Benidorm rays 2 is closed from 2nd August until 3rd September for holiday
Was in there just last Thursday Lee. Very good as always.
I did laugh at the time as I watched an older Scottish couple (sorry Kevin! 🤭😆) come in and sit next to me. Suddenly the husband stood up stating that "That’s a special? Nothing special about the price, way too expensive!" And then marched back out with wife. The special was large cod/haddock & chips, mushy peas, bread/butter, dessert and a drink for a bargain €11.25 !! No pleasing some people and I bet they didn’t find anywhere cheaper (or better!) in Benidorm that day. 🤣🤣🤣

Oh my oh my...being in Spain eating fish and chips...you can have all those in the UK. Be brave and go local food :)...paellas, tapas, grilled chorizo and fresh bread. Grilled fish with boiled potatoes in melted butter sauce, grilled meats and so on...madness for me, as a Portuguese, to see this. Safe travel back.

I have watched many of your videos and your travels and I really don't know you want to have fish and chips everywhere you go instead of the experience of the local foods. One of the pleasures of international travel is the food experience.
Hi Lee, we have been on holiday to Benalmadena-Torremolinos, and guess what we went to The Drunken Sailor , we said we followed you on You tube , the lady that served you, said you were such a lovely man and what you see is what you get , we also had that amazing steak pie and chips and was absolutely amazing . We have given it 10 out 10 , will certainly will be going there again in the future x

I eat if I’m on hols there with family at the old town my kids love tapas or a steak but we still have fish n chips or a hot dog at lunchtime just to fill the kids up . For a family holiday food wise I find it’s the best of the Spanish holiday resorts ❤ trying Seville this year for a change x
We've just come back from Benidorm. We went to Sherry's bar. On your recommendations. Had the pie and chips. Loved the pie. But I wasn't keen on the chips.

As you are in Benidorm, You might want to go to a place called Villa Martin, it's about an hour away, some of the best fish and chips you will ever eat, and the BEST peas you will ever eat! When I asked about the peas, The owner said, "Not another one" I asked what he was talking about; a member of staff makes the peas, and she gets asked all the time how she makes them. One guy even asked her to marry him! I can email you the exact location if you want to try the best peas in the world.
I think he's in France on the way home, not on the frogs legs though!
I do so wish that I could accompany you on one of your fish & chips outings! It seems you most always hit superior restaurants. I'm always hungry after watching you dig in. Safe this time, supper already in the works. You live a fun mostly (EV excluded) enjoyable life it seems. Cheers! ONWARD!

So funny when you say "the strip is bouncing" and half the people are riding on mobility scooters. LOL!
And Rays 2 aint no where near the strip either... Its a lovely place to go in the winter when there are few tourists. Dont go near the place in summer though.. Prefer slightly down the coast to La Villa.

F&C and peas look delicious. Don't get the curry sauce addition. I do love curry, but not over powering my fish supper. Had f&c in the other bar near the Sunday market. Was delicious and beautiful batter.

Rays 2 is my go to when in Beni, their chilli is also excellent. Best bet in the Old Town is Northern Sole, Rays 1 not so much.
I went to Rays 2 on a Saturday night it was shut gutted looks lovely. Queen tribute was good 👍 But don’t think u can beat the palms in Tenerife

16:10 That battered fish really does look exceptionally good. I don't normally go for fish & chips because I try to keep on a high protein, low carb diet, but that looked so good, I would make a special exemption in that case. I bet it tasted as good as it looks 👀👍❗️
