I really enjoy your tutorials madam, simple, interesting and very uplifting. Sometimes I do wish I could play like you. There aren't many proper piano teachers in this part of the world so we depend on you guys to help us plod and stumble along!

Ah, how I have searched for a tutorial this precise. Watching this, hopping with my right hand will suit me best as a beginner. Going to search for your beginner curated videos. Thank you so much.😊
This was great! I composed my own song and was looking to find ways to make it prettier. Turns out I added thirds in already without knowing it so I will now try sixths too!!
hi francesca could please do a online course on all the tricks you do like passing chords / thrids /diffrent tricks can be used on different genre of music and in all 12 keys thankyou
That left hand accompaniment of Can’t Help Falling in Love is so pretty! Can you teach us how to do that in your next video? Are those what music theory calls the broken chords?
Hi. Thanks for this! It’s just what I was looking for. I had the idea in my head as “filling out the melody” but i see it’s called harmonising! And I like the way you chose the 3rds and 6ths down from the melody note, they sounded great. I’ve been learning songs from chord sheets (ultimate guitar website), but these are only chords so I wanted to add the melody in the right hand but it was always boring just playing one note. Do you have more videos or maybe courses about harmonising?
I am pianist but I am mesmerized by your beauty. You are so beautiful wish I was born in your country may be next life. You are truly beautiful. Love from Samy India
Hi Francesca. The way you teach was very clear. I really want to play arpeggio but I'm mix up. I don't know when to match the movement of my left fingers to my right fingers so that my playing will be on timing. I wish you can explain it further and put the corresponding left hand chord to match with the right hand chord when it's time to press the keys to play together on the screen. Can't explain well what I mean. But, I knew you get what I mean. Thanks.
Arpeggiating is for more experienced players. This video lesson is focused on harmonising melodies, not focusing on the left hand, which is why I don’t go into much explanation about it. It’s not a tutorial for a specific song arrangement.
Could you please do a how to play hit the road jack, I can’t find any good ones that are accurate plus are as helpful as you are, you explain and show and go slow, love your work btw❤️
Hello thank you for this lesson. I have a question relating to this. Could you play harmonising thirds like an arpeggio? Take for exampe C Major key. If you wanted to harmonise the E note in that key. Could you play CDE as an Arpeggio. The C would be the harmonising Third and the D would act as a passing Note leading up to the E which is the note you are harmonising. It stands to reason that if you can harmonise in thirds you should be able to arpeggiate from the third to the note being harmonised using the intermediate note as a passing tone.
Harmony are notes played at the same time. You’re describing melody as arpeggios are notes played separately. Not entirely sure I understand what you mean.
@@BitesizePiano Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it. What I mean is If you can play a chord broken up ie as an arpeggio could you also try this with thirds. Obviously the third when played with the melody is just a single note but if you used a passing note going back up the melody note that would give you 3 notes which could possibly be played arpeggio style. I got this idea into my head after hearing the opening notes of the Temper Trap Song - Fall Together. It opens with three notes playing in an arpeggio rhythm but the notes are not a third apart as in a regular chord. I will provide the link.
@@BitesizePiano That’s fine. I am more concerned about what is being done there musically. Three notes being played back and forth but there is definitely no fifth being used. You can see how I made the link with thirds.
Is it just me or does anyone else hear the the opening melody line to the rugrats theme song from 2:30 to 2:37? If so I just got hit hard with a bunch of 90s nostalgia.
Very interesting video, I like it! Was curious if you had a definition on when to use a 3rd or a 6th? Or purely based on sound preference? Also is the nature of a 3rd or 6th capable of working out better if the doesn't sounds as good?
